Please just pull the fucking plug on this terrible simulation
To anyone with diagnosed DID/osdd1b who got on testosterone what was process of that? I'm not sure what to expect at this point and I'm scared they're just gonna discharge me. I'm 22 and just had my first gic appointment
Can any of our followers offer their experience?
I started testosterone with gendergp prior to my DID diagnosis and I have my first GIC appointment next month
When I got my diagnosis I asked the psychiatrist if continuing T and transition in general was a good idea. He said that as long as my system was in agreement then there was no reason not to
I updated gendergp with my diagnosis and they were fine continuing to prescribe T
As for the GIC I can update with what they say as it goes if that would be helpful
This is one of the funniest holiday cards I have ever seen.
this has been in my queue for an entire year
YOU hates terfs
I would like to wish everyone an uneventful new year
It’s only November and this is already getting notes again, you guys are really manifesting this energy early for the new year
We would like to live in Less Interesting Times please
I just wanted to let you know I briefly forgot the word "occultist" and instead thought "the caretaker is an occultant." Like a consultant, but for the occult.
An Occultant sounds like someone you hire to make your office worse and less efficient.
new live laugh love sign but it says 'hubris, heresy, horseshit'
Pedantic nitpickery of the day: “death of the author” and “fuck canon I do what I want” are not the same thing.
Which is not a critique of the “fuck canon” approach to fandom, that’s just not what Death of the Author means.
@korramills said:
I’ll bite. What’s the difference between those two?
“Fuck canon I do what I want” is just an approach to fandom that can mean any of the following:
I am not particularly concerned with being canon-compliant in my fanworks and headcanons.
I am not personally motivated to have an extensive knowledge of the canon I’m fannish about.
I will freely rewrite, overwrite, or just plain ignore part of canon that I don’t like.
All of which are, again, fine. Fandom is transformative. Rewriting and reimagining the text is part of what we do.
Death of the Author is a critical framework based on the 1967 essay “La mort de l'auteur” by French literary theorist Roland Barthes, and posits that a text should be interpreted without regard for the author’s intent. (It’s worth noting here that like all critical frameworks, Death of the Author has its limitations, and I’m not going to get into arguing for or against it here–only that it’s a theory that exists.)
Obviously, there’s some potential overlap between these two ideas. But the critical difference, as I see it, is that Death of the Author is not about discarding or rewriting the text; it simply suggests that once the text is out there, it exists unto itself separate from the author, and the author’s intended meaning is no more authoritative than the interpretation of a reader/viewer/audience member.
And though the lines can get blurry, I think it’s always worth drawing a distinction between finding alternate interpretations of a text, and throwing out the text altogether.
death of the author: the text says the curtains are blue. I think that means they represent death, based on my whole reading of the text. it does not matter what the author thought they represented, or if they represented anything: part of a work is the reader’s experience of it, and that includes their interpretation of what certain things mean, even if that’s different than what the author thought they meant.
fuck canon I do what I want: the text says the curtains are blue. I write fanfiction where they are red, because fuck blue curtains.

I'm half tempted to just copy paste this entire list into Google
junk data is extremely important
My favourite one is "redheads" followed closely by "quiche."
why do people make a blanket statement and call geese ugly. have you looked at geese. personally i find good old canada geese very pretty but if they aren’t your taste…theres very many beautiful geese! for example:
barnacle goose
african pygmy goose
ross’s goose
brant
hawaiian goose

what addons do you use for firefox? i've just downloaded it to switch from chrome (derogatory)
firefox (affectionate)
UBlock Origin obviously. out-the-box works just fine but has a bunch of extra privacy/tracking/spam filters you can enable
Decentraleyes protects you against tracking through “free” curated content delivery and works alongside UBlock (or any of the other common adblocking addons)
I Don’t Care About Cookies good for EU users where GDPR made it so every site ever in the universe asks you to accept cookies and privacy terms seventeen times a day. will just auto-accept for you. never see an annoying popup again! but only use in conjunction with…
Cookie Auto Delete does what it says on the tin. will automatically flush cookies, cache, and data when you close a tab. those cookies you just auto accepted? they’re gone now. whitelist any sites you wanna stay logged in on and let the rest fucking perish
Don’t Track Me Google removes that annoying link conversion when you copy google results. you know when it changes from “site.com” to “encrypted.google.com/randomnonsensefor200charactersblahblahblah”? yeah. this stops that happening. fuck off, google.
Don’t Accept image/webp blocks sites from using the most useless file extension known to mankind so you can save as .jpg or .gif as god intended. fuck webp. seriously. what even is that.
Bypass Paywalls Clean exactly what you think it is
HTTPS Everywhere automatically adds ecrypted security to any site that supports https (you can do this manually by adding the s yourself to any url but… who can be fuckin bothere amirite? this does it for you)
New XKit …duh
Google Search Filter allows you to remove domains from your searches forever. pinterest? gone. weheartit? nuked. also works on duckduckgo. never type “-pinterest” into a search again.
Simple Tab Groups allows you to group tabs together and shove them out of sight, which is nice if you’re researching something and don’t want 50 bajillion jstor tabs clogging up your normal browsing session
THANK YOU
my friend Alicia made this video to show you the correct way to pronounce "axolotl"! it's a Nahuatl word that gets mispronounced so often, often for puns right here on tumblr dot com, so I wanted to share this with you all because it's important to respect Indigenous languages. you can find her artwork here!
