Buck, while being tackled by a police dog: Whatâs his name?
THE WEST WING 7.13 â âThe Coldâ
iâm a firm believer in the fact that you should be able to laugh during sex
If you canât laugh, youâre doing it with the wrong person
I want to mourn her death. I want to honor her. I want to pay tribute to who she was as a woman, as a mother, as a lawyer, as a fighter, as a wife, as a justice, as a patriot.Â
I want to mourn her and celebrate her and thank her for everything that she did, all the decisions that she made that helped me grow up in an America where I was safe to pursue all the things I wanted.Â
Instead the first emotion I felt wasnât sadness, or humility, or solemnity. It was fear. Chill down the spine, tears in the eyes, heart racing, muscle clenching fear. Â
And I will never forgive them for that.Â

Many teachers on this platform would benefit from this info.
Many nonteachers need to understand that this will be what their teachers'/teacher friends' lives consist of for the next year.
hey, not to be the one wielding the 'studio-led sequel culture strips out the message of the original work' sword, but i feel like there's a parable out there about corporations ignoring scientific advice in the face of endangering the masses for profit, and i just can't remember what it is.
Marriage, butter, and travel
i learned that during 2005 in Glendale, CA a suicidal man parked his car in front of a commuter train. The train derailed and collided with two additional trains resulting in over a 100 casualties. The man survived and was sentenced to life without parole. (x)
It was near my costco and costco gave all first responders pizza and hot dogs

The corner of his lips twitched into a half-smile. âIs that really the first thing youâre going to do?â
She shook her head. âNo. Iâll probably go straight to my parentsâ place. Call Jane. Let her know where I am and what happened.â
âYou think sheâll believe you?â
âThat I spent three years in the seventies with you by accident?â she smiled. âNo. I donât think anyoneâs going to believe me. I should probably come up with a cover story so they donât cart me off to the state hospital.â He opened his mouth to tell her she was probably right, but she spoke again before he could say anything. âYouâre not going to forget this, are you?â
âForget this?â
âThis,â she still wasnât looking at him, but she motioned to the space between them. âThe last three years. Everything weâŠâ she stopped herself and pressed her lips together. âWhen youâre back with your friends, I mean.â
He smiled softly. âI couldnât forget this if I tried.â

Oops. I said I wasnât going to write anymore from this universe until my last epilogue was done. But I couldnât help myself and had to get out some cold-war, 80s-babies feels. Enjoy? While we can? Until I figure out how the hell Iâm going to structure and format this beast?Â

It was the sound that woke him. Hollow scraping. The sound of a chair or a stool being pulled across the floor. A sound he shouldnât be hearing at midnight.
Steve paused and listened, heart hammering for one long moment before he heard quiet voices and the telltale shh of at least one child who knew they shouldnât be out of bed.
Beside him, Darcy frowned, her eyes still closed. âWhat are they doing?â she asked thickly, already starting to struggle to escape the burrow sheâd made for herself from their sheets and blankets. He smiled and put a hand on her shoulder.
âI got it,â he said softly and kissed her temple. âYou go back to sleep.â
âMmm,â she hummed something that sounded appreciative and was already snoring softly by the time he reached the bedroom door.
As expected, both of his childrenâs bedrooms were empty. He sighed and swiped a hand over his face as he descended the stairs, careful not to avoid the two that creaked. The loud whispers did not stop as he made his way to the kitchen, lit by the full moon coming through the curtains. Steve leaned in the doorway and watched as Samantha nearly spilled half a bag of flour as she stretched across the counter to reach the spice rack. Nathan had dragged the stepstool over to climb to his spot beside the sink, clearly awaiting his sisterâs instructions, stirring a bowl of what looked like eggs and too much vegetable oil with a terrible grip on a wooden spoon.
He cleared his throat. Samantha stopped, a jar clutched in her hand, and turned around. She offered him a sweet smile. âHi, Daddy.â

Find Your Marigold: The One Essential Rule for New Teachers | Cult of Pedagogy
The Marigold Effect
Many experienced gardeners follow a concept called companion planting: placing certain vegetables and plants near each other to improve growth for one or both plants. For example, rose growers plant garlic near their roses because it repels bugs and prevents fungal diseases. Among companion plants, the marigold is one of the best: It protects a wide variety of plants from pests and harmful weeds. If you plant a marigold beside most any garden vegetable, that vegetable will grow big and strong and healthy, protected and encouraged by its marigold.
Marigolds exist in our schools as well â encouraging, supporting and nurturing growing teachers on their way to maturity. If you can find at least one marigold in your school and stay close to them, you will grow. Find more than one and you will positively thrive.
One of my marigolds texted this to me tonight. It is perfection. I plant marigolds in my summer garden every year but I donât think Iâll look at them in the future without seeing this symbolism.
