A/N: Let’s introduce our lovely reader (maybe OC?) shall we?

Hotch and Garcia made their way down to the tech dungeons. Garcia led them to the computer that you had basically made your home. Your head popped up to look over the screen. “Penny!” You grinned, “To what do I owe the pleasure?”

“Hey, girlie! Ok so, you know how we track down crazy people, right? Well we have a serial killer who is attacking dancers somewhere near or in the clubs where they work. We wanted to know if you would help us profile the guy?”

Hotch gave Garcia a look before jumping in, “We would also be asking you to go undercover to help us profile them in the environment, so that we can catch the unsub before anyone else gets hurt.”

Your smile turned to a look of confusion and shock. “Penny. You told.” You did your best to feign horror and betrayal. “Ahhh, you know I’m not ashamed of it. I get to help catch a bad guy and get out in the field for once? When do we leave?”

Hotch left to talk to your supervisor about the temporary transfer to the BAU while Garcia led you up to meet the rest of the team.

You walked into the round table room where the rest of the team was brainstorming ideas for cover stories and who would best fit which role.

“Guys, this is Y/N. She’s going to be going undercover with you guys.” Garcia gestured toward you with a wide wave of her feathery pen. 

You made a small wave, “Hello. Happy to help.” You look to your left and you spot Spencer by the map. “Yo! Spencer! What’s up?” Spencer turned his head and gave a small, warm smile and wave.

“You know pretty boy?” Morgan quirked an eyebrow.

“Yeah, he’s been down to the dungeons with Penny before.” You shrugged. They didn’t need to know about your slight infatuation. Or the fact that you have both been over to Penelope’s at the same time for sci-fi movie marathons. Or that you’ve played a Doctor Who drinking game on her couch and almost kissed him.

You shook your head slightly to dislodge where your thoughts were drifting. “So,” you said rubbing your hands together eagerly, “when do we leave, because I have a few things to prepare.”

Spencer looked up from the map, you though you could see a tinge of a blush high on his cheekbones. “The unsub is escalating, but the shortest has been four days between attacks, so far. The earlier the better, but we should leave Friday morning at the latest.”

“Ok, so that gives me the rest of today and all of tomorrow to prepare.”

Morgan snorted, “What could there be to prepare? You just have to take off clothes and dance around a pole.” You felt the collective female eye roll as you begin to speak.

“Jeez, Morgan, you really don’t pay attention do you?” Prentiss stepped in on your behalf. “There’s a lot that goes in to looking put together and polished, but still able to grab the attention of everyone in the room. There’s the spray tan, the waxing, the mani-pedi, the hair if need be, the clothes, the shoes, the makeup.”

She continued to tick items off on her fingers as you stole a sneaky glance toward Dr. Reid. There was definitely a blush now.

“I’ll meet you all back here Friday morning?” You asked as you walked toward the door. You were met with a chorus of ‘yeah, mhm, see ya then’ as you made your exit. There was so much to get done, you weren’t sure where to start. A wax after a spray tan sounded like a terrible idea, so wax first it was.

A/N: No, I don’t know anything about how strip clubs works, but just let me dream. There will be smut in later chapters. Kinda slow burn here. Like some friends to lovers type shit. Enjoy.

“Five female victims have been found in industrial districts of as many cities in Indiana,” JJ continued to walk around the table handing each team member a case folder, “the only thing that connects all the women is occupation.”

Morgan, flipping through the file, spoke up. “Strippers? Do any of these cases show any signs of a sexual component?”

“No. Unusual.” Spencer closed his file and walked toward the white board, grabbing a marker as he passed. “So, five cities, five women. An unsub would typically favor their own ethnicity or race over others, but this one doesn’t seem to have a preference at all.” He began to circle the cities on the blown up map pinned to the board.

“How were they found?” Hotch looked up from his file.

“All of them were found in fairly obvious, open locations in industrial districts not far from the cities’ downtown areas.” JJ took a seat next to Spencer’s chair.

“Ok, so why are we being called in on this case? It seems like it should be handled by the state authorities.” Morgan remained as skeptical as ever.

“That’s just it. The sixth victim was across the state line into Michigan, and there are two suspected victims before these six, found in Kentucky and Tennessee.” JJ flipped to the names of the two towns and passed the folder to Spencer to update the map. Once he did, he stepped back with a furrowed brow. “It’s almost like the unsub id ping ponging back and forth across the state while heading north.”

“Maybe that’s why the locals haven’t been able to pin him down. They can’t get a pattern on him.”

The team began to formulate a plan. An unsub that was behaving pretty sloppy, but seemed to be refining his technique and speeding up his time frame. Strip clubs don’t really rely on security cameras, and the people why frequent them are very diverse. Since the unsub had just crossed the state line on the eastern side of Michigan, it was likely that he would be going around an hour and a half north toward the western side of the state. Grand Rapids was too busy. The industrial district was too well lit and too frequented. Muskegon was the best chance a finding his. There were only two clubs operating in town. One doubled as a sports bar, so would have too many distractions and too many people looking at other places besides the dancers. 

It would be difficult to get any cooperation from any employees or owners in such places. Most don’t want to associate with the cops, much less the FBI. With the sporadic choosing of victims, the BAU had the best chance to figure out which person in a large group was responsible for these crimes.

“Guys, I have an idea.” Garcia’s head snapped up. “How dangerous would it be to have a few people go undercover to sniff him out?”

“I don’t like the idea at all, but it would seem practical to have a few agents in the club to look for suspicious behavior.” Hotch didn’t look particularly thrilled, but could see the merits of the plan.

No, no I mean have someone go undercover as a dancer. Give them a fancy dancy earpiece to communicate. They’d have a bird’s eye view of everyone around the stages. Even interact out in the crowd.”

JJ and Prentiss shot each other a look. “Neither of us have any experience doing that. Definitely wouldn’t get hired on the spot.” Garcia’s voice piped up, “I think I know someone in the bureau that might be able to help!”

Building a Portfolio

As I delve into the world of searching for a part time remote or freelance job, I have come to realize that I have deleted all of the edited and marked copies of fanfic that I have done over the years.

Hey All!

I know that I have been AWOL for a little while, but I am back and I have some news!

First, I did switch my blog from Supernatural to witchy content, so no you weren’t going crazy if you thought you were following a Destiel blog and ended up here.

I am not usually the type of person to ask for help, but here I am. I have been trying to earn some extra money. The thing is IVF is really expensive, and I don’t like feeling like a burden to anyone. Insurance won’t cover anything that isn’t diagnostic testing, so here I am paying completely out of pocket. I work full time and so does my husband, but this is still putting us in quite a pinch. I’m not going to ask you to donate money to help me pay for it, but I would like you to consider hiring me for my services.

I am a freelance editor, proofreader, beta reader, etc. I proofread and edit anything from fanfic to academic papers to resumes. I’ve gotten pretty good at it, too. I also do light data entry and accounting.

I offer styling advice and assistance finding pieces for your wardrobe. I don’t use any affiliate links, so I am not being paid to recommend one company over another, or any thing like that. I will even thrift the items locally if I can, and provide minor alterations to make them a perfect fit for your wardrobe.

I have an Etsy shop, and I am looking forward to adding some new products and services soon. I currently offer tarot and pendulum readings, spell jars, and candles made form recycled products. The new project that I am working on is turning your fanfiction into a bound book! Now, I am just starting out on that so it isn’t super fancy, and won’t usually have a print cover. However, I am planning on using recycled fabric as the outer cover and embroidering the title and author into it. Needle crafts are my favorite, lol.

Steps:

Fill your glass with cold water, and put it somewhere you have lots of room to work. 

Place an herb at the 12 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock, and 9 o'clock positions around the glass of water. 

Place a crystal in the middle of the herbs. You’ll have an alternating circle of herbs and crystals around your water. eg. Basil, amethyst, lemongrass, aragonite, coffee beans, selenite, lavender, and black tourmaline

Allow them to charge your water. Feel their energies seep into the water. 

Take some deep breaths and ground yourself with your favorite grounding method. 

State the following: You have overstayed your welcome in my mind and it is time to leave. May you find your way out trouble-free. So mote it be.

Drink the water.

Moon Salt

Ingredients:

Salt

Amethyst

Lavender

(Optional) Moon water

Directions:

Pour the salt in a small bowl or container.

Place in the lavender and amethyst, and slowly mix them into the salt.

Charge the salt under the full moon.

(Optional) Sprinkle the moon water over the finished salt.

Done!

That’s all! A simple little salt recipe that I wanted to share. Have a magical day~

Do not put amethyst in salt! 

“Salt water soak. Just like you, crystals resonate highly to salt water soaks! You can use regular table salt for crystal soaks, about 3 tablespoons of salt to a cup of water. I like to cover my crystals in salt water until the highest crystal is covered. Place on your windowsill overnight (you can soak from one to seven days), or an area that will get sunlight. I also prefer to use a glass container for this, to allow for the sunbeams (or moonbeams!) to penetrate. Caution for this method: make sure the crystals that are receiving this salt bath are no less than a 7 on the Mohs scale, otherwise you will damage your crystal! Also note that stones that contain iron, such as Hematite, Magnetite, and Lodestone may oxidize when submerged in water.“ Source, though a quick google search yielded many more saying the same thing!

While amethyst technically is a 7 on the Mohs scale, it has iron in it. You will oxidize it, and strip away the polish! Most stones (especially malachite) are toxic when that polish is gone!

So, then what should you do? Amethyst is one of the few that technically doesn’t need to be cleansed. Like Citrine, it is the cleansing stone you use to clean the others! That does not mean that it too doesn’t need a clease to get out all the gunk it’s absorbed from all your other stones. 

“Running water:  Especially good method, again, for the Quartz family (Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Citrine, Clear Quartz). Hold your crystal under running water for a few minutes to wash away any negative energy.  It is advisable to place a cloth in the bottom of the sink to protect the crystal in case you accidentally drop it. Dry with a soft, clean, lint-free cloth, or if it is a warm, sunny day, you can let it dry naturally outside.” source

For the most part, that is correct. Five minutes to dry and maybe absorb a little sun energy won’t hurt your amethyst. Prolonged exposure to sunlight will fade it though. So in all honesty, just wipe dry with a soft cloth and put away.  (Also note that citrine is part of the quartz family. All the stones listed there will cleanse other stones. Citrine is the best, since it absorbs the least. Amethyst next, then rose quartz, then clear quartz in how effective they are, and how much they’ll need cleansed after.)
