A half-burnt heart which he had found - it was a woman’s – ate wanton Loki;
Regardless of if it was real or not, the blood eagle is such an evocative and brutal method of execution that I felt the need to paint it today.

Freyja
sigurd kills the dragon fåvne. been researching norse mythology and old stories for my comic project, so exploring how to draw it has been fun!! this particular image is based on a wooden engraving from Hylestadsportalen, which used to serve as a portal on an old norwegian stave church. this story is also found in germanic folklore!
Loki's Children
Doing this for a little personal project of mine. Just a sketch so far, not sure what I'll do with it next.
The old prophecy, in trembling breath, foretold A savage wolf whose jaws devour the light. We sneered at runes, dismissing warnings cold; Now shadows spread to blanket all in night.
Dark voices gather, like a prayer to absent gods, In dread, we witness the slow dying of the light. No mortal blade can break these ancient cosmic odds; As Sköll prowls, devouring day to darkest night.
Yet precious hours should not be drenched in fear; Embrace each breath before the final flame. Too soon the sun is lost—the end is near— And none may claim they never heard its name.
