Had the pleasure of scoping out the big top tent down in the East Village which is currently home to Calgary Opera's production of Candide, running from August 14th - 23rd, for this weeks cover of Fast Forward Weekly.

Had a fun little photo shoot with Em Dobbins, the on premise speciliast for Select Wines & Spirits as well as a judge for the Mount Gay Storied Cocktails Competition happening August 11th, 2014 at Brigg's Kitchen.

While some spend hundreds of thousands for a house like every other in the neighborhood, Bruce Campbell took his money and bought a retired Boeing 727. Which he placed in the woods. Like a boss.

Bruce was kind enough to put together a how-to guide on his site if you're suddenly feeling to urge to be your own grounded sky captain.

A year ago this week Alberta was struck with the highest flooding in over a hundred years. As the rains raged across the province and the tv news crews formed camps on hills, the Calgarians of the valley watched warily as the Bow rewrote it's century old path through their city.

By June 20th and 21st the Bow rushed its way through 26 neighborhoods, pushing 75,000 residents to higher ground. Schools were closed, the downtown became an eery lake of man made mountains and dirty water devoid of people as citizens were told to stay indoors.

Despite this, like many others, I ventured out to see what state my city was in. These were some of the photos from that day.

Couple frames from some of the wonderful 30+ faculty I had the opportunity to photograph recently at the Alberta College of Art + Design.

Apple computers and design have had a long and fundamental relationship with one another from the get go. Two decades ago Apple brought on Frog design group's founder Hartmut Esslinger to help push the computer away from the classic PC design. These early mock ups of a whole variety of devices were the result, some of which aged surprisingly well (sans tablet with floppy drive add on).

The Alberta College of Art and Design has a yearly publication it sends to their very generous donors and prospective students to let all involved know how things are going at Calgary's only dedicated post-secondary art institution.

Catalyst has seen many different looks and styles in past iterations, and in the 2013 edition, I worked alongside the fantastic folks at Good Company  to create a softer and more subject focused version which is currently available all over the ACAD campus and will be until the end of 2014.

The motive behind each shoot was centered around a space where each subject felt most inspired. This led to locations spanning Calgary and it's outskirts and involved photographing individuals everywhere from downtown art galleries, home art spaces, loft studios and forests among others.
