Backstory: Born in the Kyōwa Era (1801-1804), she grew up in the Edo Period; she was the eldest of eight children (seven girls, including herself, and one boy). Her family grew up in poverty to the point where her parents often went hungry so that their children could eat. One day, her brother fell ill, and her parents couldn't come up with the money for a healer, so they had no other choice but to marry one of their seven daughters off. Since Reina was the eldest at 16, they married her off to a man who was in his early 20s, who offered to pay for a good healer for the family's only son. Reina's marriage was, for lack of a better word, awful. Her husband spent whatever money he wasn't giving to her family (to maintain appearances, at this point) on alcohol. He would often come home drunk and sometimes smelling of another woman's perfume. Reina wanted to confront him, but since her expectations were to be meek and quiet, she didn’t. When she was 18, she gave birth to Ayato, her first (and only) child. This was a big deal for her, especially since before, she had difficulty getting pregnant and even suffered a miscarriage a year prior. However, her marriage still wasn't happy, even with the addition of a son. However, she began to fight back more (most likely because she had a child to protect now). Then one night, while walking home from the market, she was suddenly scratched by something. Now, there was no one else out on the streets, except for a young man with raven hair and a white suit (guess who that is). Still, she'd written it off as her being paranoid and went home. However, by then, she'd become a demon. Her husband, unaware of what had happened to his wife, was about to scold his wife in a drunken rampage when she attacked and ate him. Ayota, who was only 5, witnessed this after hearing his father screaming. He just watched, not out of shock but because he couldn’t bring himself to care. Reina, now Youma, saw her son watching after she devoured her husband's flesh, but instead of attacking Ayota, she hugged him, tears welling up in her eyes. For the 13 years, they'd lived on the run, sleeping in caves during the day, then going out and eating at night (Youma ate humans, Ayato would eat berries and whatever stolen foods his mom snatched from villages. However, Youma had this weird way to eat humans: She ate them like a "meat" stew, with the blood being the broth, and the flesh being the meat. She'd take her latest kill(s), cook them like a stew, and eat them like that. He also feeds it to her son. She targets abusive husbands specifically, but also will target marechi, regardless of gender. She REFUSES to hurt/kill children.
Muzan Kibutsuji: She respects him and is not ashamed to admit that she finds him attractive.
Kokushibo: She thinks he's an interesting and handsome individual.

Personality: He's sassy sometimes and isn't afraid to speak his mind. However, he has a soft spot, especially for those he loves, like his mom.
Backstory: Growing up, his father was equally abusive towards him as he was towards his mom. He has only one memory of his father: when he was 4, his father, drunk again, choked him against the wall, calling him "weak", and that "he'd make a man out of him" one day. Even as a demon, this moment haunted him because he genuinely felt that his father was going to kill him that day. However, Takeshi soon stopped caring for his dad and didn’t care when Youma ate him a year later. After all, it's hard to mourn someone you don't care about. After that, he lived for years on the run alongside his mom, surviving off of stolen goods and soups made from mountain herbs. One day, when he was 15, however, he met a young girl, only a year younger than him. Her name was Yuna, and she lived with her parents in a humble village and was their only child. It was love at first sight (for Takeshi, at least). He used any excuse he could to be around her. Then one day, when he was 17, he asked her to be his wife. She said yes, and they got married six months later. Not long after their wedding, they had their first child: a daughter named Himari. Takeshi was a very doting husband and devoted father, even filling in some "womanly duties", like cooking meals and cleaning the house, whenever Yuna was exhausted. They had their second child, their son Ren, when Hirami was 2 years old. They got pregnant with their third child not long after. However, Takeshi fell gravely ill, with the doctors saying he was a lost cause. Youma, desperate, turned to Muzan and begged him to give her son some of his blood so he wouldn’t die. Takeshi hesitated, but then he remembered his family, and how he wanted to give his children the two things he never had: a loving father, and a stable, happy life. So he accepted it and became a demon. However, things went wrong that night, because after he became a demon, he became hungry for human flesh. And unfortunately, Yuna, now heavily pregnant, was the only human in his view. You can imagine the rest. Hirami and Ren were able to escape before they could be killed. When Takeshi, now Ayato, realized what he'd done, he held his wife's dead body and cried before running towards the east so he'd burn in the sun to atone for his sin. His mother stopped him by pulling him into the shade, however. For two weeks, from dusk to dawn, Ayato would go to his old home and just hold Yuna's dead body. That was it. He'd just hold it until he saw the sun rise and leave again. As for his children, he still protected them from a distance, even attending their funerals (though not really). However, despite him holding on to some of his humanity, Kokushibo saw potential in Ayato and decided to make him his tsugato. Ayato even added three Moon Breathing forms, each named after his wife and two children, with the one named after Youma, "Youma's Love", being focused around stars, since the night he proposed to her was starry. He doesn't attack women or children.
Muzan Kibutsuji: He respects him...but only because he knows if he doesn't, he'll get murdered.
Kokushibo: Looks up to him, thinks he's a good mentor.
Douma: Pretends to like him (he doesn't.)
Akaza: Respects him sometimes.
Hantengu: Doesn't really interact with him.
Gyokko: Same as Hantengu.
Nakime: Likes her, thinks she's good company.
Youma: Cares deeply about his mother.
