Powder there all alone and when the enforcers try talking getting her to talk to them but her freaking out scared but still so sad and when they ask about her family her just insisting โtheyโll be back they promisedโ and the like and that just solidifying to them thatโฆyeah theyโve abandoned this kid here.
The enforcers taking Powder to the council, who all assume the same, and Powder starting to believe that yeahโฆshe was abandoned if not Vander and Vi would have come for her right? why havenโt they come to get her?
(The reason being as Vander and everyone escaped as no explosion Silco got sure pissed and got some people to pretty much set fire or to destroy the last drop it looking like Powder is deadโฆVi blaming herself cause she told Powder to stay her little sister stayed there waiting for her to get back and died because of it)
Also Markus bullshits and totally fabricates and lies to make this seem legit and so no one looks further into this at all, not on either side.
Powder is just breaking down and Mel takes a look at this little girl whose family have discarded her as she was a weakness, thrown her away to save themselves and justโฆcanโt let this stand.

I beg of all of you to watch Dallas Jenkinโs The Chosen, even if you arenโt religious. Itโs just a good show, and it portrays Jesus as so human and trustworthy please watch it please itโs so well done itโs just a good show please i love it
Okay, Iโve been bingeing the Jesus show and I love it. Iโm Christian but not usually a fan of Christian media because itโs often poorly done. But The Chosen is as good as anything Iโve ever seen. Acting, cinematography, everything.
- As far as possible, no one is whitewashed. Jesus himself looks VERY Middle Eastern.
- Jesus is very human and approachable.
- All of the โFollow meโ scenes give chills.
- All of the disciples have backstory and personality. Creative liberty, but all are plausible and conform to what we know from the Bible. (ex. Nathaniel, whom Jesus called โan Israelite indeed in whom there is no guileโ is always overly honest, Simon Peter has obvious natural charisma but he struggles with understanding Jesusโ way of doing things, John the Baptist is a total wild man and apologizes to no one for it.)
- Matthew the tax collector is autistic and itโs well-done and makes so much sense in context.
- The Romans and Pharisees are just as diverse in personality and motivations as the protagonists. Gaius, Matthewโs Roman protector, pretends to hate him but is low-key a concerned dad.
- Gaius trying to make small talk with Matthew. โDid you see those Parthenian footraces?โ
- Matthewโs dog.
- There is just as much emphasis on the experience of the women as the men. Several of them have trauma from the Roman occupation or their patriarchal societies in general, and that isnโt ignored, but it isnโt the focus of their character development either. And they get along (far better than the men, actually); there are no silly catfights as an excuse for drama.ย
- Mary Magdalene is a total badass. I donโt know how else to describe her. I guess if youโre used to having demons in your head there isnโt much you canโt handle.
- Philip is so wise and capable, but also a total hippie from being Johnโs disciple.
- Simon the Zealotโs backstory. The Zealots were sort of anti-Roman terrorists. (And it is hard to blame them.) Thereโs this cool spy interplay going on between him and a Roman secret police agent.
- The sibling dynamics between Simon/Andrew and James/John.
- Nicodemus wants so badly to follow Jesus but is unable to pull himself away from his obligations. Sob.
- So many jokes:
- Everyone constantly throws shade on Jesus for being from Nazareth.
- Simon Peter canโt run.
- Thomas is secretly in love with his business partner and absolutely everyone knows about it.
You absolutely donโt have to be Christian to understand and enjoy it. But if you do know the Bible and/or Jewish culture well, itโs neat to see how they incorporate details.
