anon I LOVE the way you think + you're so right. I do love the hc of radiostatic communicating through radio waves, but it is so important to me that we remember that Velvette is almost certainly also capable of this (I mean, she canonically uses magic livestreams in the show, not once but twice). I very much see all three of them as equally significant iterations of the same little techno-infernal communications legacy.
and tbh there is something so special about Vox finding another person who can engage with him in this way after however many decades of being convinced he somehow wrecked his relationship with his soulmate because Alastor was the only person who could connect with or even comprehend this sixth sense. I can only imagine Val losing his mind the first time he clocks what's happening because oh my god??? Vox really just found Alastor 2.0 and in that case what the hell does he need Val for (obviously he chills out, but initially it was!! kind of a jump scare!!) these days he will still snark at them about it and absolutely throw a fit if he feels left out, but he also thinks it's cute how close his two favorite people are + appreciates that it helps them take care of each other, so. fine. he will accept it.
and they are communicating this way all the time. it's probably half the reason they read as so effortlessly in tune with each other (the other half is that they are just that similar). they'll hold conversations from opposite ends of the tower but also sometimes in the same room, just kind of sending out vibes to each without even realizing they're doing it. little 'are you okay' signals and distress calls during tense situations and sometimes even normal ones when they're alone at home and could talk normally because it just feels so much safer than verbally admitting to vulnerability. both of them sometimes broadcasting emotional responses without meaning to so they have a mutually terrifying level of insight into each other at all times that they simply do not acknowledge or talk about under any circumstances (while nonetheless still very much taking cues from it). vox being an obnoxious bitch who will zap away from her at a moments notice but keeps his signal active so she knows exactly where he's gone. they're just so made for each other really it kills me

I thought this day couldn't be weirder until I saw this poll (there's a minor rant incoming)
As a kid, I was keen on the Darkwing duck series so I'm familiar with Bushroot. Actually, he even was one of my favorite villains along with other guys from the Fearsome Five. I get it if you vote for him when you're not familiar with Alastor at all or simply like him more or whatever valid reason you have. What I TOTALLY don't get is when you vote for Bushroot because you "vote against Hazbin Hotel/Alastor (particularly)".
I just wanna ask Hazbin Hotel haters if they even know what's the point of the poll is. If you dgaf about the character at all then why even vote for them simply to piss off the fandom you hate? Can't you just skip the poll then? Or is it too hard for you because you immediately get oh so riled up whenever hellaverse is mentioned and you desperately want EVERYONE to know how much you hate it? Charlastor is a queer ship. Being in a f/m relationship won't erase Al being ace or Charlie being bisexual.
Cherrisnake is a queer ship. Being in a f/m relationship won't erase Cherri and Pen's bisexuality.
Lucilith, Madmaid, Radiorose, Radiojoy are queer ships. Being in a f/m relationship won't erase Lucifer being pansexual, Alasor's asexuality or Baxter being queer.

Vox is a stalker and a yandere, but in a Very Specific Way that a lot of the fandom Does Not Get. That's why people tend to assign all these gross incel tropes to him that simply Do Not Fit with his actual canon characterization.
It is canonically, demonstrably a fact that Vox doesn't want to possess Alastor. He DID possess Alastor for a time and he was still miserable. Yes, he enjoyed some petty revenge and the attention/status awarded by Defeating The Radio Demon™️, but the most important part of having Alastor as his prisoner was the opportunity to have Alastor back in his life- having an opportunity to make Alastor like him again. That's why he spent the entire Chair Era bending over backwards to impress Alastor, to the point of continuously fucking over his own plans and his partners to do so.
Just having Alastor means nothing to Vox. Having a genuine bond with Alastor means EVERYTHING. That's why he's so fucked up over Not Having It anymore, it's why he tries so hard to earn it back, it's why he has a complete fucking meltdown and gives up on Existing when he thinks it's unattainable.
It's why all the non-con shit that pops up in Radiostatic content simply Doesn't Make Sense.
Ngl, one thing that's always been a bit odd to me is how often I see Val going "he's yours, who cares what he wants? If you want him just take him" in fics and art about Vox and Alastor. Meanwhile, he doesn't do that at ALL in canon. The most lewd he got was when he told them they should fuck and even that insinuated it's reciprocated from both of them. He knows Vox wouldn't force himself on Alastor. Val's not even bringing it up as a suggestion. Even Val with his shit eyesight can SEE whatever they have is built on equal obsessiveness and isn't as one-sided as they BOTH pretend it is. He knows Vox cares too much about Alastor to treat him like that, even though neither Vox nor Alastor truly realize it themselves. Val's emotional intelligence needs to be discussed more.
No because you don’t get it. Alastor had found an EQUAL in Vox… can you imagine spending all your life and afterlife considering yourself unique and alone mostly out of self-preservation, and then finding someone who is on your same level. Vox gets Alastor, they both share a passion for entertainment, they’re extremely driven to obtain their goals, and on top of it all they’re both self-serving assholes. How tragic must it be to have always put your safety first, making sure you’re always in your own league, and then turning around to realize you’re not alone anymore. That there’s someone who gets you, sees through you, likes you.
And how awful must it have been for Alastor to think that person only ever wanted to use him.
People's behavior towards Charlastor and it's shippers is so weird I understand that the ship isn't everyone's cup of tea and that no one is forced to like or ship it
But honestly some people act like the ship killed their grandma, destroyed their home and hit them with a car like why do so many haters care that Amir talai said for a charity stream that it's his favorite ship
It's just like when Erika henningsen said that she reads Charlastor fics and people acted like shippers held a gun against her head and forced her to say it, do people forget that VAs are human too and are allowed to have opinions?
Like what are that for comments? Forgive him for what exactly? For saying that he enjoys a fictional ship (For a charity stream). Some comments even wrote that he betrayed them,if I remember right the ship he said was chosen randomly anyway,why do people care so much
Charlastor is a ship between two fictional adults and it shouldn't matter whatever people of the cast ship it or not

You know, for a relationship that is purely platonic and that will never happen romantically, Charlie and Alastor being together sure makes a lot of people jealous.
First in the pilot he makes Vaggie, Charlie’s girlfriend, absolutely seethe in the pilot after he distracts Charlie from her to dance with her:
Then, Lucifer, noticing how touchy Alastor is, gets super mad and jealous (in a protective fatherly way ofc) of Charlie’s affection towards him, and Lucifer notably sounds a bit relieved when he sees Vaggie is Charlie’s girlfriend.
Vox is incredibly jealous of Charlie and her partnership with Alastor.
He is so jealous and angry why someone like Alastor, who’s backing Charlie’s hotel and lives with her, would willingly have a partnership with someone like her and not him.
Mind you, Vox canonically used to have a crush on Alastor.
Even Mimzy, Zestial, Rosie and Angel Dust notice something between them.
(I know Rosie is teasing, but still.)
For a relationship that is so unfathomable and could never possibly happen, the characters in the show sure love to take note of Alastor’s interest in Charlie.
