Prompt- you remind Azaka of something…of life he lived.. of someone who he shared that life once with.
Part 3
You groaned and turned in the bed you lay in, chest still bruised and tight. It hurt to breathe still. You were back at the manor. You passed out after your battle with upper three. You knew your attack didn’t kill him, unfortunately.
“Ah! Miss (L/Y)! Is awake!” Your eyes moved to the voice of one of girls from shinobus mansion.
Not even a minute later two more of the girls joined her, completing their trio. Kanao also ended up by your side visibly frustrated and you stifled out a laugh through a sore chest.
“C’mon Kanao your death stare is whats gonna send me to an early grav-“ you coughed and immediately tasted metal in your mouth. The three little girls screamed and immediately began attempting to wipe away the blood, sit you up and offer you water.
“You should be in a grave! Do you know how lucky you are right now!” Kanao yelled swatting the back of your head and grabbing a cloth to wipe the rest of the blood from your chin. You just huffed and took a shallow breath looking up to her.
“How long have i been asleep?” You asked grabbing the cup of water from sumi, sipping slowly you waited for their answer.
“Almost a week. Im surprised you woke up this early. You were expected to be out for a month with how badly you were injured” Kanao replied and again she went to swat the back of your head but you dodged missing it just barely.
“What were you thinking! Taking on an upper rank by yourself! Your mission was just to investigate and wait for the master to send someone to help you!” She chastised you once more and you just groaned handing the glass back and laying back down. You closed your eyes.
It’s what Rengoku would have done.
But a week seemed about right for you to have been asleep for. Because the entire time you slept you dreamt of one of your past lives. A week spent living a whole other life, one where you weren’t a demon slayer, you didn’t even know of them in this life.
No in this life you dreamt off you were sick, very sick. You were born sick and needed daily care from your father. His face blurry as he wiped a damp cloth over the hot skin on your face. A lot happened in this week. Your father brought home a boy with tattoos on his arms. He was a criminal but that didn’t bother you. No, the thick bands on his forearms are what caught your attention.
They reminded you of something but what was it? You didn’t know not in this life anyways. This boy your father brought home began to take care of you. He wiped the sweat off your face, carried around your father’s home and fed you. He did this all without complaint and still trained daily with your father.
Martial arts… Thats what your father did in every memory you had. In every life he taught some form of it, either to few or to many. But this is the only memory where you were sick and also the only one where it wasn’t just you and your father. You hated when you slept and memories swirled in your mind rather than dreams.
These memories were useless to you. Why dream about past lives? Past lives where you can’t even remember your father’s face, past lives where you can’t hear what your father is saying to you. It’s all meaningless if all you can do is watch what goes on around you. This memory of the boy in it was the only one that really interested you, maybe because of the feelings he invoked when he came around to care for you.
You wished in these dreams you could put a face on him, see what he truly looked like but the closest you ever came was to his eyes. He had big eyes with long eyelashes. They were a blue colour? You couldn’t be sure.
You blinked your eyes open again and seen that Kanao remained. Her expression puzzled as she looked down at you.
“Whos Hakuji?” She asked and your eyes widened. That name made your heart palpate.
“Wha-what?” You asked with wrinkles above your brows. Kanao quickly answered you.
“Hakuji. You mumbled it a few times during your sleep. Who is he?” You just paused and blitzed through different possibilities.
It must be that boys name..
Hakuji.
“Don’t worry about it! Im sick” you faked a cough and pouted up at her. “Basically delirious over here! Leave me to get some rest. Thats an order!”
Kanao just rolled her eyes and muttered under her breath but turned on her heel nonetheless and left you alone. Your shoulders dropped as you let out a sigh and rested back down. You needed to heal quickly. That demon, upper rank three. He needed to be dealt with and your gut was telling you where you’d find him next.
~~~
“Master, you summoned me” you sat with your head to the ground in a bow in front of the master. It had been another week since you woke from your sleep and though not fully healed you couldn’t waste any time.
Though the real reason for pushing your recovery forward was to stop the onslaught of memories with that boy in your head.
Hakuji…
“Yes I did. I heard you were up and back to training much at the protest of your nurses” He hummed and you rose up to look at him, chewing your lip a bit.
“Yes master. I feel better already I don’t need anymore time to rest!” He only let out a soft laugh and you could imagine him rolling his eyes with how he smiled at you.
“I think physically you still need to rest but what about your sleep and your mind?. It is just as important” he asked and you stiffened a bit. He always knew.
“I-.” You paused and thought of how to word this “i’ve had some memories bother me but im fine master”
“Some? Anything stand out in these ?” He hummed and you shook your head whilst saying no.
“Very well, i won’t poke anymore but I do have one more question” you already knew what he was going to ask.
Replace Rengoku and steal his spot
“Will you take Rengokus spot and join the Hashira ranks?” You knew you could say no and that he would let you do so but you knew he wanted you to become a Hashira.
After all you had spent many a times talking about it and before Rengoku passed you spoke with excitement and determination that you would be deserving of the title but now.. now it felt wrong. You never wanted to replace your previous master or any of the other Hashira. You just wanted to be as strong as them to protect people.
“I-I can’t master. It doesn’t feel right” you sighed and clasped your hands together on your lap staring down at them with wet eyes.
“Very well my child if thats what you wish. But the title is always there for when you want it. You deserve it and you should believe that” he stated and you nodded getting up and bowing as you turned to leave.
“Another thing. I hope you aren’t planning on chasing after that upper rank demon” you stilled at his words
Damn crows! They tell him everything!
“Forgive me master but i must go after him. It-It just feels right” you kept your back turned as you forced the words out. It never felt good to disagree with him.
“Very well my child but I really must protest regardless and beg that if you do find him. You wait for another Hashira to join you” you could hear the strain in his voice at how serious he believed this was.
“I don’t want to lose another child” and with that you left. You feared if you stayed any longer you’d end up in a ball of tears as they dribbled down your cheeks.
~~~
Akazas body stilled when he heard footsteps on the ground below him. His body knew before his mind did, reacting before he could string together the idea of the person below him.
It was you.
Akaza peered down and his breath caught in his throat. There you were mumbling to yourself as you continued forward. You didn’t feel his presence. He crept as quietly as he possibly could between the branches of the trees.
He had been waiting for this. He knew he’d meet you again. He had to. He needed to get rid of you. You distracted him… every cell in his body wanted opposed it, down to his toes they didn’t want to get rid of you. Akaza knew he had to if he wanted to continue to become stronger.
How could he be the strongest with something like you bothering him?.
A mere human.
You pushed forward on your mission. You were heading to the next dojo to camp out for that demon but all you could think about for the entirety if your journey was that memory. That name.
Hakuji.
It had to be that boys name. The boy from your past life. Why did it stir up such bother in your body, maybe it was because he was the only interest you had. It was the belief that when you die you are born again, reincarnated. If that was true and you had a lover by your death bed you would meet them in your next life and fall in love all over again.
All your past lives were just you and your father, some you died young, others old. The only life where someone else joined was that boy Hakuji.
He was your lo-
Snap!
You barely dodged Akazas hand that swung for your head. Your knees bent along with your back as you unsheathed your sword and swung upwards. You sliced his wrist, blood sprayed over your haori. He jumped back away from you and you straightened up to face him.
He glared back at you. His eyes giving you a once over before stopping on your face. Why were you so familiar. You couldn’t be much older than when he became a demon. You wasted no time and charged at him immediately using one of your breathing forms to strike down at him. Akaza evaded and jumped further back.
He couldn’t bring himself to attack. His mind screamed that he should get it over with, kill you and forget about your entire existence. You jumped up and came down with a glittering array of small sparks following your movements. Akaza just avoided once more, swinging an arm and sending a shockwave to keep you at bay.
You gritted your teeth together at his actions. He was playing with you. You could see it in his eyes, on his face. His mind was elsewhere he continued to avoid and jump away. His body moved subconsciously through the trees, turning, spinning and stepping.
You huffed out a breath, exasperated. You both stood apart in a clearing. The moonlight filtered through as you stared at each other.
“What are you doing?!” You snapped steadying your footing. Your hand tightened around your handle.
Akaza furrowed his brows at your question. What was he doing?. He was torn in his decision and he did not like it. He couldn’t bring himself to initiate any proper attack on you. He just kept avoiding. He could see you still weren’t fully healed. Your chest didn’t rise fully, ribs still bruised and you had a scar above your brow from where he split it.
His skin prickled at the thought of doing more damage. Why? Why was that bothering him. You gritted your teeth and charged again at him. Akaza planted his feet and punched out in front of him. You flipped to avoid his measly shockwave and came down with your blade.
Akaza just jumped out of the way and turned his back on you.
He ran.
Your eyes widened and jaw slackened at his antics. He’s running! Upper three is running from you. You gave chase immediately after him. You called out after him but he just ignored you, ignored the sweat that grew on his brow from the feeling bubbling in his stomach. He couldn’t bring himself to deal with you now.
Fourth form- shooting star
You focused all your energy into your legs and shot forward. A streak of light followed behind you as you readied your blade and aimed for his neck. Akaza spun at the last second and grabbed your arm. Your eyes widened at how close you were now, noses almost touching. He stared up at you and you both felt your skin prickle.
Her eyes!
His eyes!
Why did you both recognise each other’s eyes. Akaza flipped you over himself and slammed your back into the ground. You choked out a cough from being winded but forced yourself back up. Akaza just stared at you, narrowing his eyes and ran once more. You went to follow only to stumble feeling a tug on your ankle.
You twisted your head and seen a branch dug through your haori and into the ground trapping you. He did that when he flipped you? So quick. You didn’t even notice. You pulled yourself free but it was too late. He had disappeared and you threw the branch frustrated, yelling into the empty forest.
Akaza sat once again in the trees above you. He stared down as you kicked up the ground beneath your feet in frustration. He only huffed out an annoyed sigh as well. His fingers playing with the snowflake hairpin that had fell from your hair when you chased after him. He seen it when he fled from you and couldn’t stop himself from picking it up.
He too was annoyed. He was annoyed at how he felt, completely divided in his feelings towards you. You were just a stupid human that he could snap in two if he really wanted to. You wouldn’t be the first hashira that he has killed. He loved to kill the hashira, take them down and watch their final moments. They were the most formidable opponents after all.
So why did the thought of you dying leave his chest tight?
Akaza watched you leave the clearing. Your shoulders slumped. He rested his back on the trees trunk and looked at the pin in his hand. It was a light blue colour and reflected the moons light. It brought him a strange comfort.
Why?
What was so relevant about you to him? Why was he so split down the middle on his opinion of you. He’s always begged strong hashira to join him and become a demon and it’s always left him bittersweet for a while when they decline and eventually die.
Did he just really want you to become a demon like him? Maybe that was all it was.
He thought of a lower kizuki. Rui, he started a family with the masters permission. Maybe thats what he was feeling. He just wanted you to become a demon so you both could continue fighting. That had to be it.
It couldn’t be anything else!
No, certainly not how your face made his hairs raise, or how your eyes made his stomach flip. It couldn’t be your name either. How it replayed endlessly in his mind. He remembered all of his strongest opponents names.
You were no different…right?.

Prompt- you remind Azaka of something…of life he lived.. of someone who he shared that life once with.
Part 2 Part 3
Akaza laughed as another man charged at him screaming loudly with a sword in hand, his fellow brothers bodies laid bloody on the floor of the dojo around them.
Akaza just stepped out of his way and with one swoop of his hand sliced him down his spine. He watched the mans body struggle to breath as he fell onto his knees where the rest of his brothers lay. Their bodies still twitching and moaning with what little life was left in them. The yellow eyes of the upper rank demon only rolled at the sounds.
“Pitiful..”
He turned on his heel and made his way out stepping on top of already broken bones as he did. His hand reaching to slide the door open, cut off fingers reappearing as he did. He raised his brow. The last man managed to strike even as he died.
Maybe not so pitiful but nevertheless Akaza left. He sighed as he left the building cracking his neck and staring up to the dark sky. He heard that this dojo was producing ridiculously strong men who couldn’t be beat but to him it was all just cheap tricks and smoke covering insecure weaklings that were easily snuffed. It didn’t matter he still enjoyed killing them all and it was only his first stop. There were two more neighbouring dojos in the next few towns he came to see.
Akaza’s ears prickled and nose perked at the smell of something. A grin etched its way onto his face. He knew that smell and recognised those footsteps.
Demon slayers
Akaza grew excited as he planted himself down on the step of the dojo. How many were there? Two? No three. He could smell the faint wisteria on their clothes and no matter how lightly they walked he picked it up. They were heading right to him. His fists balled and skin tensed with excitement.
What a treat.
~~~
Your nose crinkled at the smell of blood. It lingered in the air as your eyes fell upon the source. Three corp members lay dismembered and bloodied before the dojo. Their swords in their limp hands. You stepped by each one, closing their eyes and laying their sword over their chest. They did their duties. Their crows were all headed back to the master to tell him of their passing. You reached the last boy going to grab his sword when it swung with fleeting strength at you.
He coughed as he took a shallow breath and you quickly moved to sit him up against the steps to the dojo. He groaned at the shift and cracked open his eyes to glance at the rising sun. Its warmth shifting through the gaps in the trees and settling on him. He closed his eyes and spoke.
“An upper rank…” he choked as blood dribbled out his mouth. “H-He killed them all in the dojo”
More blood ran down his chin and you began to shush him feeling disheartened at the pain he must be feeling. You were too slow again. You’ve been sleeping badly ever since Rengoku passed. Your dreams more vivid and frequent. They often woke you in the middle of the night. He grabbed your hand as tight as he could and you blinked out of your daze meeting his eyes.
“Please don’t avenge us…y-you should wait for another Hashira to come- y-you’ll…” his body jerked as he coughed up more blood, head slumping down limp and lifeless. His grip gone and his hand slipped from yours onto his lap.
You only sighed and reached for his sword wrapping his hand around it and laying it across his lap. You watched his crow hop forward and peck at his knee but it knew and it looked to you.
“Fly back and tell the master if he does not hear from me in two days to send at least two hashira to my last location” it nodded at your request and immediately took to the sky.
With that you stood up and continued forward. The sun now almost fully up it gave you confidence you would succeed. You just felt guilty about those three corp members, chewing your lip as you thought back to your most recent dream.
You always dreamt of the same thing of the same people. Your father even though his face was blurred you knew it was him, sometimes he wore different clothes and sometimes you lived in different places but the most common dream you had of this apparent past life was where he taught martial arts as a master.
That life was the only time you remembered having a lover too..
Every time you had one of these memories shoved to the forefront of your mind there was only one where it was you, your father and a boy. A boy who loved you. His face was also blurred and his name was forgotten but it stirred feelings in you so deep you often woke in cold sweats or your stomach bubbled. None of your other memories of your other apparent lives had this boy in them.
So why was the life with him the one you remembered so often?, especially when their faces were blurred and their names were forgotten. It was a pointless torture your mind made you live through. You’d spent so many nights awake with that boys blurred face in your mind. His warbled voice echoing in your head that same conversation. When you began your journey to become a demon slayer those memories faded. You began to sleep through the night with ease but ever since Rengoku passed you hadn’t had a moments peace.
Not even now.
“Ahh!” You shook your head and smacked your hand against your forehead as you stopped briefly and looked around. You needed to focus on your mission. You needed to find this demon. This wasn’t the first time a dojo was left with no survivors. It’s happened a couple times in different areas and each time corp members are either too late or killed off.
You knew there is a town near by and with that another dojo. The sun has just risen so where ever this demon is, it would be a while before it showed face again. You decided to make your way to the next town and find some food and somewhere to stay until night fall and then you’d head to the dojo before the sun fully set and prepare yourself for its appearance.
“Welcome! What can I get for you?” A woman gleamed as you found yourself outside her food stall. You only grinned back and ordered some food.
This little town was quite friendly and clean. It was nice to see somewhere keeping to traditional values in world thats forever evolving. You walked as you ate and found yourself in the center. A poster hanging on a post caught your attention.
☆Fireworks display☆
☆ firework to celebrate our yearly festival ☆
Your brows crinkled as you read the details further. It is in the next town which is where the farthest dojo is. You were already going to head if the demon didn’t show up at this dojo anyways. The display wasn’t for a couple of weeks but if you had the time you could call by. You always loved fireworks, though that was obvious given your breathing style.
You followed Rengokus fire breathing for a bit but you didn’t have enough physical strength to carry out a lot of the moves like he did. He encouraged you to explore the other breathing styles and you found mixing his and master Tengens style worked. The master was impressed to see you develop a completely new style for corps members to use.
Firework breathing.
You maybe took inspiration from one of your memories. The most prominent one. A memory of a firework show where you and that boy stood on a mountain and watched them. You had a conversation about something, something that made both of you cry. It was the only time his face become slightly more visible. His blue eyes teary and crinkled like he was smiling at you. The feelings in them made your heart skip every time the memory surfaced.
You walked about the town until the sun set and as it did you slowly made your way to the dojo just on the outskirts. You found your way up a large branch in a tree just above the dojo, resting your back on the trunk leg swinging just off the side as you looked towards the night sky. You closed your eyes trusting your ears to pick up on any abnormal sounds. The only thing you could hear so far were the sounds of the men training below.
Now!
You wasted now time and jumped down from the tree landing on your feet behind the demon. His back faced you, hand curled up in a fist ready to knock on the door of the dojo which made you quirk a brow. Oddly respectful from a demon isn’t it. You gripped the handle of your sword and moved forward quickly. You didn’t want to drag this out longer than you needed.
First form - spark
Your sword lit up as sparks dragged behind you. Your body moved quick, quicker than Akaza expected and you caught him just as he moved. His shoulder split and blood seeped from the wound. You both had swapped positions as you found yourself however with your back facing the dojo door. Akaza looked you up and down and hummed, no you weren’t what he thought you might’ve been.
He wanted a hashira.
“Hmm this is who they send after what i did to those last three things” your brow raised and temple throbbed with anger.
Things!? They weren’t things!
“Surely they would have sent a hashira? Save them more bodies” He yawned and you gritted your teeth digging your feet into the ground and taking a deep breath.
First form - spark six fold!
Akaza’s eyes widened just the slightest at your moves. You moved so quickly almost as quick as him. You darted across the ground before him but alas you made it too easy. You charged straight on at him and he grinned ready to block and kill you when you vanished. He tensed slightly, you appeared to his left and he swivelled prepared again but gone! You vanished again.
His right! Akaza spun round a growl slipping through his mouth at you jumping around. This continued four more times. You continued to vanish just as he caught you in his sight and each time you did you sliced him. His arm, leg, elbow, shoulder and thigh. Five slashes in five places and with each one the sparks following your sword grow brighter and burned hotter when finally you stopped behind him.
Akazas breath hitched as he felt the swoop of your blade towards his neck and almost froze. You caught him unguarded, quickly he threw his arms up to block and sacrificed them both as he jumped out of the way. The now severed fore arms burned and oozed out blood. His eyes narrowing as he turned to face you but you were already on the move again and he grinned arms already regenerated.
“Ahh! How exciting! Someone formidable! Worth my time” You charged with that same move and this time he was ready, turning and blocking each swing planting his feet firmly, initiating his blood demon art.
Destructive death.
You jumped back as he began to fight back instead of just defending himself. His fists sent shockwaves towards you. One caught you and slammed you into a tree making you gargle as you felt a rib break. You groaned but you quickly picked yourself up and regained your footing facing the grinning demon.
“You’ll die here tonight demon!” You yelled as you met his eyes. Akazas yellow eyes widened when yours locked. He only really focused on them now, on your whole face really now that you caught his attention.
You seemed familiar. Why?
He clenched his fists and pushed that question to the back of his mind and readied himself for your next move. He wanted to entertain you for as long as he could so he’d take it easy. You seemed like you could put up a good fight anyways.
You tightened your grip and ignored your sore body as you sucked in a breath through gritted teeth. Your mind wasn’t focused for the first time in a battle those stupid memories were trying to push to the front of your thoughts and it was throwing you off. This was upper three and you needed all your senses aligned. You could die tonight. That was the reality. Especially after an upper rank killed Rengoku.
You needed to distract him and get close again now that he was using his blood demon art. He could easily keep you at bay with those shockwave attacks. His movements reminded you of those in the dojo just next to you.
Second form- bursting blossom.
Akaza watched with wide eyes as you vanished once more and appeared in the air. Fireworks followed with each movement you made. His body tensed as the sky lit up and he found his guard dropping pupils dilating to take in the sparkling show above him. Akaza was always drawn to fireworks and he could never place why.
His body reacted before his mind but still it wasn’t quick enough and even though you missed his neck again you caught his shoulder and your blade slashed straight down his chest, slicing him down to his shorts when you pulled back. Breathing heavily as you stood behind him. Your own clothes were now speckled with blood as you huffed from the exertion.
Akaza jumped from his position in front of you and moved farther forward and turned to face you. His body slowly healing itself back up and the sight made you grimace. He was growing annoyed at his own mind. Why? Why was he so distracted by you. He had never met you before but something about you seemed so…
Intimate.
You sucked in a breath as he narrowed his yellow eyes at you and punched a clenched fist into his palm. Heels dug into the ground as he readied his next move. You prepared yourself watching carefully and then it came.
Destructive death - disorder
Quicker! These were far quicker and held more power than the last barrage of shock waves as they shook the trees and sent weak branches flying. You ran and jumped from each one trying your hardest not to get caught but there were too many in too many directions and again you were sent flying through the gaps in the tree. Your body rolled into the dirt as it caked itself in your hair and up your face.
But you couldn’t rest. He was behind you almost immediately and you jumped spinning as you did slicing his hand that was above you off and darting out of his line of attack. Akaza just grinned once more.
“Amazing! You had no time to recover yet you sensed me immediately!” You tried to steady yourself but everything burned. Your eyebrow was split and blood stained your lips. You definitely had multiple ribs broken now.
“Become a demon! Join me!” He laughed and you sneered at his request.
“Join you? And become a mindless puppet to someone’s stupid cause? I’d die before that happens” his grin quickly flipped upside down at not just your words but the blood that seeped down your face from your brow.
You were hurt. He had hurt you. Why was that bothering him? Why were your eyes so haunting to him. Akaza pulled his lips together and shook his head of these stupid thoughts. You were still quick even after the damage you took.
Fifth form - blazing comet
You set off with your sword held high as it became surrounded in bright sparks. Akaza began his own assault of shockwaves towards you but just as he did a firework went off and took the damage of the barrage and you vanished out of his sight.. He tensed and his eyes darted trying to find you but again he was caught off guard and thats when he felt it.
The tip of your blade piercing his neck. His eyes widened. He needed to act now! Each second he wasted he felt more of his skin tear. A blazing heat ripped from his neck to the tips of his toes. Your yell rung out behind him.
Destructive death - Annihilation.
He knew this would work even if he wasn’t facing you. His blood demon art would penetrate all around him and so he began his assault, punching the air. You coughed out blood that sprayed onto the back of his head. He had caught you without facing you. His attack caught you right in the stomach just as you twisted out of its direction that was initially your head.
Sixth form - Dancing Dragon
You used your technique to avoid his barrage as best you could once again sparks and small fireworks were left behind with each of your movements. You stumbled once your feet hit the ground and huffed out more blood which dribbled down your chin. You were seriously injured now from that last barrage. He was becoming more and more dangerous with each attack.
Akaza took in your wounded form. The skin on his neck already stitching itself back together but regardless that was too close for his liking. He hadn’t been that close in years. You were struggling now with the amount of blood that covered you. You must have multiple ribs broken now. Akaza gritted his teeth in frustration.
“Become a demon! You’ll die if you continue” he almost begged you. You were incredibly strong and that breathing style of yours enchanted him. Maybe that was his sole reason.
He wanted to watch you move like that forever. It entrapped him.
“Stop begging! It’s a loss cause i’ll die before i do that!” You yelled back and found your footing. You breathed as deep as you could with how tight your chest now felt and Azaka sighed.
“At least tell me your name so I can remember you!” He asked. His round eyes lighting up as you spoke once more, even your voice sounded like an echo he once listened to.
“I’ll tell you but not so you can remember! I want you to know the demon slayer who is going to defeat you!” You snapped and again raised your sword.
“L/N) (Y/N) !” And with that you charged once more but Akaza didn’t ready himself.
Your name. It stung him worse than any of your previous attacks. Why? Why did that name ring so many alarms. It made him want to rip his own skin off as it prickled.
You needed to land this next move. If you didn’t you would definitely be dead as in your weakened form it would leave you immobilised for a few seconds but those few seconds would be all this demon needed to kill you. You put all your focus into your legs and arms and sprung forward. Your sword lit itself on fire, bright colours ripping from it as you danced forward with a your own barrage of fireworks igniting with each step.
Eighth form - God of the Firework Dragon.
A blazing dragon of colours engulfed your form as you ran at the still dazed Akaza. The trees around you caught fire too from your move. Your blade swung and the dragon opened its mouth ready to bite the head of the demon before you when he finally moved too quick to be beheaded but too slow to completely avoid injury. His left arm and leg were severed but he used his right to jump up into a branch and crouched down watching as the dragon roared before vanishing.
You crumbled to your knees where he once stood. Your body stiff, hands clenched around the handle of your sizzling blade. Everything was still around you. The only noise was the crackling of the trees that were singed from your attack. You didn’t even look as though you were breathing.
Akazas wounds were healing very slowly he assumed because of your attack but he made to move to go back down to you not out of fear but rather you made him uncomfortable. Everything about you from your eyes, how you looked, your breathing technique and now..even your name.
(Y/N) (L/N)
He felt his skin prickle once more as he replayed it in his head. Your voice echoing within. Why did it feel as though it wasn’t the first time he’s heard that name? Akaza has been a demon for more than one hundred and thirty years and whilst he only killed men and avoided women he remembered all those encounters. And he does not remember you, not in the slightest. You have obviously been a demon slayer for some time with how skilled you are and he has never encountered you.
He remained far up on the tree as his limbs finally regenerated. He watched at the same time you finally moved. It was only a few seconds you were still and in that time he could have easily killed you but where was the fun in that? It would be disrespectful to kill you when you couldn’t defend yourself. Akaza did not harm women they were weak so it wouldn’t be right nor fun.
But right now he wanted to get as far as he could from you. He would have won the battle he knows that but with how his mind kept freezing it would have been an unnecessary long one and the night was beginning to fade, so he left. He jumped from branch to branch with his mind still repeating your name.
Over and over again.
Reincarnated
Prompt- you remind Azaka of something…of life he lived.. of someone who he shared that life once with.
Part 1. Part 2 here
Akaza has lived as a demon for more than one hundred and thirty years and for that time he has slaughtered thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of men. He loved to fight and sought out opponents worthy of his attention. Akaza loved the strength being a demon brought him.
He enjoyed hunting, snuffing out weak men who begged for their lives. The disgust they brought him churned his stomach. He needed to rid the world of them. Why bother tending to such weak souls?.
His favourite opponents were demon slayers. Especially the Hashira. Akaza lived for when he ran into them. He savoured every battle, bruise, thrust and stab. He appreciated the effort they went to go beyond, even if it was in vain.
It always was.
Akaza has never been close to death from a hashira. It fills him with excitement to find worthy opponents but it always leaves him bitter when they die, especially when they refuse to turn into a demon to continue their dance. Hanging on to stupid morals for what? A slow agonising death.
Their humanity disgusted Akaza. He seen their clinginess to it as weak. What was so good about being human? He couldn’t remember what his human life was like but he knew it could not compare to his life as a demon.
His life as a demon filled him with desire. A desire to crush anyone who stood in his way. Akaza truly has thrived over his one hundred and thirty years as a demon. He finds himself returning to villages where strong dojos remain and enticing their members to a battle.
It’s his favourite thing to do aside from toy with the hashira.
~~~
The water rippled as pebbles skimmed across it. Blank eyes following the small waves as another skipped across. Tension grew across your forehead as your mind repeated what you heard from the crows earlier.
Kyojuro Rengoku has fallen.
Your master has died. He fell to an upper rank demon. He fought valiantly to the end according to the brief conversation you had with the injured young men who witnessed it. The water splashed with sudden shock at the pebble thrown into it.
It was supposed to be you
You were supposed to be on that train. That was your mission but you took too long on your last mission. You were too slow in defeating your last demon and you returned too late to be assigned it. Rengoku volunteered in your place of absence.
Now he was dead.
Your forehead was stiff with the tension now steady across it as your brows only furrowed more with anger. He was the reason you became a demon slayer. He rescued your village from those pitiful monsters and it gave you meaning. That day you followed him and begged him to train you.
And he did for a short period of time he got you ready for final selection all while fulfilling his duty. It was a few months before you met again and when you did he invited you to become his tsuguko. You completed many missions in your time away from him after final selection and even took down a lower rank kizuki which earned you the respect to become a tsuguko.
You couldn’t have been happier, becoming a demon slayer did give you meaning. It wasn’t like you didn’t have meaning before that. You lived a life as a farm girl, unwed but happy. But you were haunted by memories, thoughts, images, dreams that weren’t your own.
Becoming a demon slayer freed you of these haunting memories, not entirely but you would go weeks sometimes even months without waking up in a cold sweat or blanking out of a conversation. You don’t know why these things affected you but you couldn’t tell anyone up until you became a demon slayer and you spoke with Ubuyashki Kagaya.
He sensed something was troubling you and you decided to test the waters by telling him of some of your memories.
“Hmm you know many of us believe we will be reincarnated in our next life and that the life we are currently living is not our first time on this earth. We are all beings being reborn time and time again. I believe you are lucky (Y/N) and you shouldn’t be troubled when you experience these moments of memories. Its your past life speaking to you”
“Embrace them. You could learn something”
“L/N?” Your eyes blinked at your name being called. The pebble falling from your unclenched fist as you turned around.
“Hey Kanao!” You beamed, dusting yourself off as you stood. Kanao watched you carefully, the facade you had on.
Kanao knew you were angry. She could sense it. Her own master was angry all the time. She knew what loosing someone felt like. Kanao nodded her head to follow as she spun on her heel, falling into step with her glancing down at the top of her head waiting for her reason to disturb you.
“The master has a mission for you” she stated. Your lips pulled taut. Suppose the only hurt you felt was mentally. Your dedication shouldn’t waver.
“Yeah? How come you came and told me Kanao? You miss me” you hummed nudging her shoulder that made her huff.
“I do not miss you! I seen you this morning. I was just already speaking with master prior to this and he asked me to get you!” She snapped. You only giggled at her attitude. She had really grown since those young demon slayers joined the corps, especially the boy with the rising sun earrings.
Tanjiro Kamado. He was with your master during his final moments.
“Thank you for walking with me Kanao! See you later” you waved as she retreated from the masters home. She threw her hand up in a measly wave at your words.
You turned towards the masters home, trying to swallow down the dryness in your throat. He hadn’t spoke to you since Rengoku passed. When he asked you to step up as a new pillar.
Take your masters place
You found him where you always did facing the outside of his garden. The cool air shifting his hair as his pond rippled with the koi. Your knees found the familiar gravel below as you bowed over.
“Master, you requested me”
He hummed and you sensed his motion for you to rise and you did. Your hands folded in your lap as you stared at his smiling face. He always looked happy to see us.
“(L/N) my child, how have you been keeping?” You knew there was a double side to this question. He wanted an answer to his request of you taking your former masters place.
“I’ve been good master. I hope you have as well” you hummed, eyes glancing around the garden.
“I am always good knowing i have such dedicated children. So many strong hashira” his hands folded out towards you, palms facing up. “Do you have an answer?…
Will you take Kyojuros place?”
Your stomach churned at his question, hands curling in your lap. Of course you wanted to become a hashira it was what you were training for, fighting for. A chance to become one of the strongest of the corps and fight against the demons but you never thought this was how you would have been selected. You had always wanted to be selected and you always wished that it would come about as someone retired willingly.
Well no one wants to willingly retire they just become out of commissioned but still replacing one that is alive is better than taking the place of a dead one. The out of commissioned hashira took their chance to pick out who they believed deserved the title and accepted them taking the role. Rengoku was snuffed out painfully, against his own will and you’ve been shoved as his replacement.
“Master I-“ you took a breath “i don’t deserve it. You should offer it to Kanao! Shes been here far longer than me and des-“
“My child you deserve it as much as Kanao does but you are Rengokus Tsuguko. You have much potential of becoming a great hashira and i wouldn’t offer you the position had i not thought you were capable” his words made your eyes water and nose sting. You sniffled as you tried to force words out but he continued.
“This isn’t the only reason i asked you here. I do have a mission for you. There is a demon up in a rather large fighting village south of here near the base of some mountains” he continued and you straightened up, sniffling your nose and blinking to rid your tears.
“It seems to be of a higher ranked demon, perhaps one of the lower kizuki. There are already some lower corp members stationed nearby on another mission. Maybe they could be of use”
“Yes master. I’ll head out immediately” you folded down in a bow once more before getting up and turning to leave when he called out.
“I want an answer when you return (L/N)”
Your shoulders tensed but you nodded with a firm hmph and walked out. Your crow rang out from above as you left the grounds of the corps having gathered all you needed.
“Caw! Head south for the mountains Caw!”
You wondered just what demon you would find.

Your palms were raw, jaw was aching and brows were drawn tightly together as you watched Mina desperately slide across the ground. Her body bruised and cut from the raging, blonde maniac behind her. Your own heart was beating as you watched the grinning jerk swing his palm forward, it fizzled and a large explosion erupted from it sending Mina flying forward on her front way past the boundary line.
You quickly rushed to your friend as you helped her up on shaking legs. Her chin bleeding and breaths laboured from the fall. Uraraka and Jirou quickly took Mina from you and you spun round to find Bakugou glowering at Mina. Mineta and Kaminari were of course sucking up to Bakugou who just ignored them. His eyes moving to meet yours as you marched over. His eye twitched and palm fizzled once more, muscles taut and sweaty. He wasn't going to back down from an obvious challenge.
"You bully! That was so unnecessary, did you even hear the instructions or are you just-just a dumb brute" You exclaimed as you found yourself directly in-front of the psycho you are forced to call a classmate.
"you gotta problem extra? take it up behind the line" Bakugou nodded to the white line just behind him. Your skin prickled as your lips pulled together in a tight grin. You moved to step by him with every intention of pummelling him to the ground.
Bakugou turned to follow cracking his neck and knuckles. His eyes narrowed in on your back. He's been wanting to teach you a lesson. You had bugged him ever since the entrance exam. You weren't even that good at using your quirk yet you ended up in the same class as him. A no good extra who was just in his way.
"we are finished here today. I won't allow a barbaric fight. Pros must keep a level head" Aizawa's voice cut through the tension causing you both to pause and look over your shoulders.
"Take Mina to Recovery Girl. Bakugou Y/N I will give both of you detention if you take another step" Your shoulders slumped at his words and you sighed. "everyone clean up for lunch"
Kaminari and Mineta immediately began moaning at how they were going to miss such a cool fight. A red glare from Aizawa quickly shut them up as you all headed to the changing rooms and changed for lunch.
...
You could literally feel the holes being burned into your skull from the boy down the table from you. Bakugou had not taken his eyes off you since training. He tried to call you out after the changing rooms but you brushed by the barking idiot, choosing to be the bigger person--which was proving quite difficult at this moment.
DynamightX has sent you a message!...
Your phone pinged and you were quick to pick it up. A tiny grin on your face. Your attention completely focused now on your phone that you didn't even notice that your skull wasn't burning anymore.
DynamightX: Oi! where ya been today, why haven't u messaged.
XAmethysta_: Aw did u miss me?
You had completely forgot about your online friend. The mysterious boy who you had been texting almost non-stop for about three weeks. You forgot this morning that you had told him you'd class and would text him later.
DynamightX: shut up. u said you'd text me. I don't like when people don't hold up their end
XAmethysta_: shut ups just say that u missed me lol
Bakugou was grinning ever so subtly at your message. His brow quirking up at your teasing. He would normally blitz someone for talking to him like this--admit he missed someone? ha! he barely likes saying hi to people but you...He missed you, just a bit.
DynamightX: Shut it loser, what u doing anyways
XAmethysta_: haha I missed u too and I'm just eating my lunch
DynamightX: u better be eating something more nutritious than noodles
XAmethysta_: leave my diet of noodles alone! just cuz your a health freak mr my body is a temple
DynamightX is typing...
The bell rang and you stuffed your phone into your pocket, quickly gathering your tray of food and dumping in into the bin. You headed to your next class falling slightly behind your friends. You were a bit tired as the hallway slowly emptied other students were obviously more keen and energetic than you were. You didn't notice the trailing blonde, not until he was basically on top of you. Your shoes squeaked as they scuffed the ground, trying to keep you up as Bakugou looked up from his phone and stumbled back.
You spun round ready to see who it was before you chewed their head but the minute you eyes locked with those narrowed red ones your mouth moved before you even thought to pause. Your shoulders squared and finger pointed.
"watch were you're going! I know you can't understand instructions but surely you were taught how to walk and keep out of other peoples spaces!" You snapped, nose scrunched and brows tightly wound.
Bakugous teeth gritted and his own mouth opened to bark back at you. It was always you. You were always the issue, always annoying him, getting in his way--just your presence alone! sent him over the edge some days. He couldn't stand you and he didn't know why--no scratch that he did know why. You were a dumb, annoying, slow extra who was in his way, in his way to becoming number one
"watch where I'm going?! you were in my way. why were ya even walking so slow?! damn extra" Bakugou spat and your lip curled at his response.
“What the hell is your problem? Like seriously” Bakugou’s muscles tensed beneath his wrinkled shirt as you stabbed your finger into his chest. Your nose flared and brows pinched as you glared daggers up at him.
“My problem is you—you and your shitty quirk that you can’t even use properly!” He snapped. His sweaty palm coming to grab your wrist and fire the finger stabbed into his chest away.
“My shitty quirk? Okay—ha! You’re on Bakugou after school today in the gym gamma” You stepped back still hot and fired up as you turned on your heel.
“If you don’t show i’ll take that as your forfeit and that me and my shitty quirk are superior”
Bakugou huffed a hot breath as he watched you walk away. His head sore and skin damp with hot sweat. His narrowed red eyes honed in on your retreating form as he envisioned the many ways he would make you eat dirt.
…
You weren’t superior…
You scrambled up from the ground that almost cracked under your feet from the monstrous blast behind you. Your training uniform torn at the knees from how many times you’d fallen, hands skidded and bruised from bearing the weight of your body to keep yourself from crumbling as you skidded across the training ground.
Bakugou was right on time after school and wasted no time the moment you stepped into the training ground. He was fast, cunning and determined to make you regret. He didn’t waste any energy toying about—no, every move he made was planned. He knew how he was going to make you eat dirt.
You cried out as a hot blast sent you flying forward onto your stomach. An almost renactment of how he sent Mina flying earlier. Your chin hit the ground and sent your teeth almost through your tongue as blood filled your mouth. You again stumbled back up, head pounding, heart racing and body aching.
You spun to face the raving lunatic who stood a few feet away from you and was virtually untouched except for the small cut across his cheek; the only mark you managed to land. He took a step forward and you instinctively shuffled back. Your fingers coming to join your finger tips together as you forced your quirk to work once more. You’d already overused it, pushed yourself beyond your limit in order to last this long.
Your knees wobbled as you pushed your heels into the ground in response to Bakugou taking another step. His palm crackling as that psychotic grin flashed upon his face. He won, of course he was going to win. He didn’t need to do this but he wanted to. You fingertips fizzled with purple wisps but nothing happened and your heart dropped to your stomach. Your expression was one of horror at the sight of your quirk completely giving out on you.
“Shitty fucking quirk for a shitty fucking extra” Bakugous voice made the hair on your neck raise as he continued his approach. Your breaths grew quicker and you fled. Your fight was done, you couldn’t win and you couldn’t face a full on blast from Bakugou.
Your knees collapsed as you crossed the boundary line. Your eyes wet with fresh tears as you slouched forward. The adrenaline leaving your body as you felt the full force of the battle both the physical and emotional drain. You could hear his steps draw near and feel his eyes on you. You kept your head down in shame, too embarrassed to look him in his eyes.
Bakugou gave you a once over and rolled his eyes. You were pathetic and didn’t deserve his respect. Your sniffles made his stomach turn as he walked over to his bag and grabbed it glancing once more at you before leaving you to wallow in your shame. Did you really think you had a chance? You had no plan and you panicked the minute he got serious. He wasn’t even trying in that battle with you and yet you crumbled so easily.
You wiped your eyes with your tattered sleeve as you finally stumbled up and grabbed your own belongings. The walk back to the dorm was quiet and painful, every step you took lit a fire in your sore muscles. You looked into the window of the dorms seeing everyone downstairs with each other. You gently set your bag down and pulled your hoodie out. It took a moment to pull on given how it hurt your ribcage to lift your elbows higher than your chest. You chewed on your lip as you pushed the door open and made a beeline for the stairs.
“Y/N! You’re only back now where ya’ been?” Mina’s voice cut through everyone else’s and you froze too scared to turn around.
“U-Um I had to print something out in the Library” You lied and pushed the door to the stairs open and quickly stepped in.
…
You lay on your bed skin damp from the hot shower you spent almost an hour sitting in. The towel wrapped round you providing little comfort to the stinging cuts and purpling skin. Your eyes stinging too with fresh tears that just wouldn’t stop. Your sniffles being the only other sound in your qui-

Your phone lit up on your bedside table as it buzzed multiple times. Your hand reached out weakly to grab it and pull it towards you slowly turning over on your side you read over the notifications from the same person.

DynamightX has sent you a message!
You groaned and just let your phone flop back onto your pillow as you shut your eyes. You didn’t wanna talk to anyone right now. You wanted to be left alone—forever preferably.
Your phone buzzed again and you grabbed it with a sigh, ready to power it off completely and go to sleep when your eyes widened at the image displayed across your screen.
DynamightX is calling!…
Answer Decline
Your breath caught in your throat and your thumb stilled almost painfully at the bright green answer button on your screen. Your heart skipped as you watched it ring, buzzing in your hand until it stopped and you were met with your phones background. You unlocked your phone and hit onto his notifications bringing you onto your chat log. Your eyes reading the multiple back to back messages he had sent you.
1:35pm
DynamightX: my body is a temple of course im gonna take care of it??
2:30pm
DynamightX: what u doing rn I need to ask you somethin
5:00pm
DynamightX: hey loser did ya break ur phone or somethin?
8:00pm
DynamightX: ok seriously where r u?
DynamightX: i know I like to sleep early but theres no way ur asleep before me
DynamightX: i’m gonna keep txting till u reply whats wrong??
DynamightX: ok ur seriously pissing me off tf r u blowing me off for?
Miss call from DynamightX!
DynamightX: sorry i shouldn’t have called u can u just send me somethin so ik ur okay?
XAmethysta_: im okay.
You switched your phone back off and sat it on your dresser. A groan slipping past your lips as you slowly sat up and slipped off your bed, eyes glancing over your device that almost instantaneously began buzzing the moment you sent that message. You shuffled over to your dresser and slipped on your comfiest pajamas. Your towel discarded on the floor behind you, far too sore to bend down and pick it up.
You shuffled back to your bed pulling the blanket up and climbing in. Your knees and back were probably the worst. Your stomach grumbled as you weakly reached for your Tv remote and switched it on immediately putting your favourite show on to try and distract yourself. You couldn’t go downstairs and make some food for two reasons 1) you were in a stupid amount of pain and couldn’t move too well and 2) if anyone seen you they’d ask questions and probably try and take you to recovery girl who would report your injuries to Aizawa.
Your phone buzzed again and you sighed as you reached over for it. Can he not take a hint?. You swiped onto the chat and read over his three new messages.
DynamightX: finally took ya long enough to reply
DynamightX: why did it take u so long tho?
DynamightX: did i do somethin?
You sighed shoulders sagging forward as you slowly typed out a reply. You felt a bit bad as you chewed on your lip. It wasn’t his fault you got beaten so badly you wanted to crawl into a hole and never come out.
XAmethysta_: no u didn’t I had a bad day and just didn’t want to talk to any1
DynamightX: can I ask what happened?
You chewed your lip thumbs twirling indecisively—should you tell him? What would he think?.
XAmethysta_: I got into a fight n got pretty beat up
Bakugou’s brows furrowed as he read your message. His fingers quickly working a reply. You got beat up? Why—who would beat you up. He didn’t know you but the thought of someone giving you trouble bothered him. You were nice, if he liked you everyone must do.
DynamightX: why? Who beat u up?
XAmethysta_: boy I go to school with just over an issue
Bakugous head grew sore from the tension as he shuffled up a bit in his bed. A boy beat you up but why? And how badly. He knew you were in a school like his to become a pro hero he knew you could handle yourself. You would always text him about training or when you won a training exercise—hell he never went an hour anymore without getting a message from you.
DynamightX: r u okay? Did u go get healed after
XAmethysta_: no no one knows it happened except me n him
Bakugou didn’t even make the connection. The fight with you long out of his mind. He didn’t want to waste anymore thoughts on you instead he was worried about you; the girl he met online.
DynamightX: did u get hurt badly?
Your brows raised a bit at his messages. The boy who was honestly quite cruel and even after you befriended him still was rude to you and still berated people in the chat room yous had met in. You couldn’t help the small smile that etched onto your face at the concern he was showing you. It was a but silly and something you could never admit to your friends in real life but you might’ve grown a tiny crush on your online friend
Who could literally be a forty year old man! Mina’s voice rang clear in your head
XAmethysta_: i think I fractured a rib to be honest but i’ve done that before! So no need to worry. The fight was kinda my fault.
DynamightX: you loser don’t go startin fights if ur just gonna get hurt
XAmethysta_: well i obviously didn’t plan to get hurt
XAmethysta_: super hungry tho i think i’m gonna die💀
Bakugou snorted at your use of the emoji. You used them more than he did and it was something that always got him. His shoulders slacked a bit; you seemed in a better mood which was good. He was still pissed some boy beat you up enough to possibly fracture your rib.
DynamightX: ur so dramatic bet your rib isn’t even fractured
XAmethysta_: hey! I’m injured here don’t make fun of me. I’m starving
DynamightX: go get some food then??
XAmethysta_: can’t cut my face badly too don’t want anyone seeing me walking about all injured n ask questions
DynamightX: can’t b that bad
You chewed your lip once more as you clicked the camera icon in the corner and held it up to your face. Your heart was beating slightly faster, skin warm as you pulled your collar up a bit snapping a photo of the red and purple bruise on your jaw which matched the split lip Bakugou had given you earlier.
XAmethysta_ has sent a photo!
Bakugous eyes widened at the notification on his screen. His finger hovering over the attachment on your message. You had sent a photo—a photo that was possibly of your face. His already sweaty hands grew even damper as his heart skipped—skipped? No, no it didn’t skip. Bakugou’s heart didn’t skip. He didn’t care that much. He didn’t know you other than the messages you shared. His thumb hovered some more before he gave in and hit the attachment.
His relaxed face scrunched up at the sight of your bruised face. His eyes searched every corner of the photo taking it all in. He zoomed in, zoomed out and moved the photo on around. The photo showed just your jaw, lips and the tip of your nose.
She’s got pretty lips
He clicked off the image and began typing.
DynamightX: u really got ur shit kicked in
XAmethysta_: really? How’d u come to that conclusion
DynamightX: drop the sarcasm, r u gonna go make food?
XAmethysta_: no i’ll just waste away
DynamightX: order some food then u can’t not eat
XAmethysta_: aw u care
Bakugou rolled his eyes at your comment. He did care—just a bit but he was more thinking of the logical side. You wanted go be a pro hero so you had to eat especially if you were injured to regain your strength. His furrowed brows relaxed a bit at your next message stating you’d order some takeout if it meant he’d stop getting on like your dad.
DynamightX: long as ur ok and not moping cuz u got beat get some food and some rest loser

I’ll be doing my own posts but just incase anyone would like to request any specific fics over the month of kinktober please feel free <3
Requests are also open for just normal fics

Prompt: in which your best friend Megumi (Gumi) goes away and you don’t see him again for a really long time…what does he look like again?
Megumi Fushiguro x FemReader
————————————————————————
“Gumi! Wait up!” You whined as you chased the street after Megumi. He was laughing as he ran his hand held high in the air as you puffed trying to keep up.
Your foot tripped not as aware or as coordinated to avoid the crack in the path as Megumi had done before you. Your knees taking the brunt of the stone ground, scraping as you fell onto your stomach. Your tongue caught between teeth as your chin hit it next. You bit down, hard.
Megumi skidded to a stop chest puffing and cheeks bright red as he turned on quick feet. He stalled as he seen you lying there, cries quickly erupting from you which sent his body into action as he bounded over, falling to his own knees. The hard ground having no effect on him as his small hands clambered to your face. Your sniffles and fat tears made him panic as his eyes fell to the red blood around your mouth.
“G-Gumi!” You wailed, stretching your short arms out and wrapping them around his neck as he quickly copied you. His own arms finding their way around your waist and pulling you close.
You always fell. You were always so clumsy but you hadn’t fell this hard before. The palm of your hands were sore, knees stinging and worst of all your tongue throbbed as the taste of a copper penny filled your mouth. Your eyes screwed shut as you cried.
“C’mon gotta go to Tsumiki” He grunted as he stood on wobbly knees. His hands grabbing at you as he lifted you up. Your face was buried into his top, blood and tears staining it as you continued to hiccup and sniffle.
Megumi just wobbled down the street. You both had ran pretty far from his house. His back was getting sore as he continued walking. You were smaller than him but by just a bit and he wasn’t all that big to begin with. You picked your head up, resting it on his shoulder now as you peered out ahead. Your wet eyes focusing on a tall man behind you both. You couldn’t make out his face or what he was saying as he caught up to you both.
“Hey you’re Megumi Fushiguro right?” Your chubby fingers curled into the back of Megumi’s shirt as his own hold tightened around you as the man suddenly appeared in front of him.
“Whats it to you?” He snapped, brows furrowing as he stared up at the white haired stranger. Gojo smirked as he stared down at the boy. The boy who was the spitting image of the man who tried to kill him.
Gojo opened his mouth ready to spew everything he had gone over, explain to this boy his importance, who he was, who he came from and what happened to his father when the sound of your hiccups met his ears. His brows knitted and he crouched down with a pout. His glasses sliding a bit on his nose as he cocked his head.
“Whats wrong with her?” He pointed a finger at your back and Megumi tightened his fingers around you. Megumi’s eyes narrowed as glared at the pointed finger.
“She fell.” He stated not wanting to share any information with this man.
“Is she badly hurt?” Gojo asked as he retracted his hand and scratched his head.
“Shes fine” he snapped “what do you want?”
“Oh right, yeah” Gojo trailed off as you sniffled and shuffled a bit eyes narrowing in on Megumi’s wobbling arms.
“Maybe we should bring her home first before i tell you what i need to tell you” he explained standing back up to his full height.
“I can take her for you?”
Megumi shook his head once more squeezing you tighter as you sniffed again. Your cries had calmed down a bit as you tucked your face back into Megumi’s shoulder.
“Okay. I won’t take her for you” Gojo laughed a bit as he stared at the protective boy. He turned on his heel, looking over his shoulder as he motioned forward with his head.
Megumi took a hesitant step forward as he guided the way back home. He brought you back to your mother who thanked Megumi and went back to the tall man to ask what he wanted, itching to get back to you already.
“So lets talk Megumi”
…
“Suka C’mon I don’t want to be here” you whined as your shoulders sagged inwards. The creepy abandoned house was groaning under its own weight as your friend dragged you further inside.
“Just until we check this room Y/N!” She told you. The flash light she held being the only source of light in the dark house. You groaned as you tightened your hold on her hand, ever since she became part of some stupid occult club.
You stepped lightly eyes honed in on the direction of the flashlight. You hated creepy houses, hated scary movies and yet here you were. Your skin was prickling, hair raising and heart hammering. You didn’t like being anywhere creepy or scary because of what you always saw, those slimy, scary and unnatural creatures that lurked in the shadows of places like this.
Your cheek was sore from where your teeth had been chewing it as you tried desperately to ignore the heavy breathing from the back of the room. You had spotted the creature the minute you entered the place but you couldn’t tell your friend—no, of course you couldn’t tell her then she’d think you were crazy and you didn’t need that, not when your mother already thought so.
Your hands curled around the set of die in your pocket, knuckles cramping and growing more sweaty as you tried so hard to ignore the creature. You entered the last room watching as your friend swished the flashlight around completely oblivious to the creature. You weren’t sure what you were going to do once your friend decided to leave. You weren’t sure if that creature was planning to bother you or not.
Sometimes they did other times they left you alone. Your feet shuffled forward with your friend as she hoked about broken shelves and dusty boards. Your mind tracking back to the first time you had ever seen one of these creatures.
“Y/N don’t be scared it’s okay” Your tear filled eyes looked at the hand outstretched to you before flickering back to the weird worm thing in the corner of the room.
Your brows knitted together as the blurry memory flashed through your mind. Who did that hand belong to?
“Ugh! Nothing! Absolutely nothing” your friend whined as she spun around to face you. “Heh I’m sorry I dragged you out here Y/N”
You forced a smile on your face as you felt the creature enter the room now. Its grotesque noises were making your skin crawl and stomach bubble with sick as you forced a cool face for your friend.
“Its okay! Maybe next time?” You shrugged and she nodded as she made her way past you and back to the door. Your heart leaped in your chest as she headed right in the direction of it. The orange, ugly, slimy thing that resembled some sort of animal? Or maybe a mixture? It wasn’t human anyways.
“Suka!” You yelled loudly, cringing at your volume as she looked over her shoulder “can I hold the flashlight?”
She furrowed her brows at you before shrugging and nodding as she handed you it. You stepped forward now face to face with the creature that was groaning louder, drool hanging from its stretched mouth as you sized it up. Your heart was hammering now as you sucked in a deep breath and threw your hand from your pocket. The die rolled onto the ground and you watched as the number one faced upwards. Your eyes widened in pure disbelief. Asuka’s head immediately spun round to see what had just rolled and as she did you switched the flashlight off.
The dark incase you both and as it did she squealed and you punched landing a straight shot against its face sending it flying back and into the floorboards that groaned loudly under its weight. Asuka’s hands grabbed onto your shoulders as she begged you to turn the flashlight back on. You quickly switched it on, found your die and you both ran out and by the dazed monster.
“I’m so sorry I dragged you in there Y/N!” She wailed as you both stood outside the abandoned house slightly hunched over as you took short breaths.
You shook your head ready to tell her it was okay but as you straightened up your eyes landed on two men behind Asuka. One had bright white hair that stood out against the dark back drop. He was tall with a blindfold on? The other man was slightly shorter. Asuka followed your focused gaze as she turned around to find the men now walking towards you.
“Hey there! You girls okay? We heard screaming” You immediately stepped forward ahead of Asuka as you stuck your hand into your pocket, cupping the dice.
Your chest was telling you something was off both these men had some energy about them. It felt the same as when you used your dice. The same as the creatures you’ve encountered over the years. The white haired man stopped just a few feet away from you and you glanced over at the shorter m—boy, he was just a boy who looked around your age. His eyes darted to the side as he displayed a bored expression.
“Yes we are fine” you answered curtly not wanting to give any information to a stranger.
“You sure? Didn’t see anything weird in there?” He asked, tipping his head slightly. Your brows knitted further together at his tone. He was implying something, was he asking about that creature?.
“Anything weird? What do you mean” You couldn’t help yourself. This was the first time you had met someone who felt like you, felt the same energy you had encountered so many times. This man knew something. You had to know—needed to know.
“Just y’know creepy old house coulda’ met a ghost or a curse…” he trailed off, lips tipping up in a knowing smirk. Your brows raised and your heart skipped a bit.
He knew. He knew exactly what you had always been seeing. You opened your mouth ready to reply, to tell him yes! Yes theres a gross being in that building to ask a billion and one questions about it all when the shorter boy with dark hair stepped forward. His face now stony as he walked by you. Your head followed now focused on him, brows furrowed as you tried to place why he seemed so familiar. He was already by you now though and you turned to follow where he was walking as your eyes seen the orange creature force its way out of the house now groaning louder and moving quicker.
“Let him take care of that. I want to talk to you” Your head snapped back round to the man who was now leaning down. His hands pocketed. You stepped back from the sudden closeness and remembered your friend who was beside you.
“Asuka, a-are you alright?” You asked seeing as she just stared at the tall man.
“U-Um yeah, i—I think it’s getting late, shouldn’t we go?” Her cheeks were red as her eyes darted between him and anywhere else.
“Oh right, um—do you wanna stop at the shop on xxx street?” Your eyes met his again as you stated the street name. A raised brow was all the confirmation you needed.
He walked by you and towards the boy with dark hair whose wolves were ferociously ripping into the creature. You quickly took Asuka’s hand and darted off to get her home so you could meet this man who seemed to know all about the crazy stuff you’d been experiencing.
Stranger danger completely thrown out the window.

You rolled over from your previous position snatching your phone from the charging cable and squinting at the bright light. You couldn’t sleep at all. A sigh left your lips as you opened the messaging app you had downloaded a while ago.
Denki likes to use it when you guys are playing online games. You scrolled past your usual group chat which had a few notifications, most likely Denki can’t sleep either and is begging someone to play with him. You had joined a few different chat rooms, one was related to your quirk and a few others just had relating interests to you.
You scrolled down finding an active one and just as you went to join your message request pinged. Your brows pinched together as you checked the message box. You didn’t recognise the name at all.
DynamightX has sent you a message request!
None of your friends from UA had this username and you couldn’t think of anyone else. You clicked onto it. It was late and you were bored, what harm could come of it?.
DynamightX: why ya even in that chat if you’re not gonna talk about your quirk.
Your brows furrowed as you read the message. Who was this guy? Your mind quickly went to the chat you were in for quirks. It had a few people in it with varying quirks. You swiped onto the chat and typed their name.
Nothing—they hadn’t talked about their quirk once. They only ever spoke to insult someone else’s quirk—jerk. You clicked the profile and scrolled seeing they weren’t in any other chats except that one and had nothing in their bio. You swiped back onto the message request and began typing. Your knees bent and legs swaying in the air as you pulled your pillow further under your chin.
XAmethysta_: you’ve never talked about ur quirk either so why are u bothering me for?
DynamightX: i at least talk in that chat room. Bet ur some quirkless loser nerding out over other peoples.
Your jaw literally dropped as you felt yourself grow angry. Who the hell was this person? You typed back furiously.
XAmethysta_: i am not quirkless and even if i was that doesn’t make me a loser. Ur a loser for msging me about this, got nothing better to do?
DynamightX: I obviously have something better to do. U clearly don’t tho stalking that dumb chat.
XAymethysta_: good go do it then and stop bothering me.
You swiped off the app and turned your phone off rolling back over and closing your eyes. You eventually drifted off to sleep after continuously tossing and turning in frustration over what that person said to you.
He must absolutely hate his quirk if he gets on like that
…
You sat in class Jirou to your left and Mina to your right as you talked about the shopping trip after school today. It was almost the end of school lunch was soon and then you’d be out in no time to hang out with your friends.
“So who is all coming again?” You asked and Mina immediately began listing names.
“Uraraka, Kaminari um—Shoto I think obviously Kirishima. I don’t know if Bakugou is coming” Your cheeks tinged and Mina rolled her eyes. You had a bit of a crush on the red head.
“Hey Kirishima! Are you and Bakugou coming after school today?” Your eyes darted over to the group of boys. Kirishima glanced at all three of you and you quickly averted your gaze from his sharp grin.
“Heck yeah! What time we meetin’? And just at the usual spot?” He asked.
“Hmm say an hour after school ends?” Mina told him. You looked back to see him nod with confirmation and swivel back round in his seat to face his friends.
Your eyes caught the all too familiar narrowed red eyes of his best friend and you just puffed your cheeks out, rolling your eyes at the rude blonde boy who just glowered more at you. The pencil he held smoking from his overheated palm.
“Gosh he really hates you Y/N” Jirou snickered and you just shrugged.
“Good. I’d never be friends with someone like him” You grimaced hearing the bell ring and heading out for lunch.
“Bakugous not that bad. He helped Kirishima study for the final exams” Mina pipped up.
“Yeah plus he sometimes shares the food he makes in the dorm with whoever’s there” Jirou added. You just shook your head.
“Don’t care—guy’s a big bully. Y’couldn’t even pay me to like him” You shot back.
You actually didn’t mind him when you first joined. You kinda assumed his personality was a result of having a great quirk, well off parents and being both academically talented and attractive but after getting to know him better—well slightly nothing was redeeming.
He also hated you from the first day. If he wasn’t ignoring your entire existence he was constantly berating you. He found you training one day and went on about how he’d be so much better at using your quirk than you and that you sucked at using it.
You stared down at the buffet of food before you in the line with your friends, swallowing dryly.
Plus thinking about him makes you lose your appetite he sucks that much!
…
You walked to the food court with your friends. Your hand full of bags from your favourite shops as you spotted the rest of your group. The only seat now left was between Kirishima and Bakugou. Your cheeks tinged a bit as you sat down, scooting your chair closer to Kirishima and away from the blonde who was on his phone having it faced away from you and typing furiously.
“Hey Y/N, get anything nice?” You turned your head and found Kirishima leaning quite close. Your cheeks warming as you embarrassingly cleared your throat.
“Y-Yeah! Um, just—y’know clothes and stuff nothing crazy” You literally wanted to crawl into a hole and die. That was so embarrassing.
“Yeah? I got this new jumper, what’dya think?” He pulled a red and black designed hoodie from a bag. A classic colour for him.
“Mm! It’s super nice, looks really comfy too!” He nodded in agreement. Your eyes darted behind you to Mina who was giving a pink thumbs up.
“Kirishima man, c’mon i’m starvin’ you said we’d get food when the girls got here” Kaminari moaned as he flopped back in his chair.
“Okay okay chill out dude. Its chivalrous to wait on the girls y’know” he got up from his seat and looked back down at you.
“You hungry Y/N? Want me to get you something?” He asked and you quickly shook your head, face burning.
“N-No thank you so much! B-but I can get myself—please it’s okay!” You rushed out, skin warm and mouth dry. He just gave you a grin and nodded heading off with Kaminari.
You turned to speak to Mina and cry about how embarrassing that was when your phone buzzed in your pocket. You pulled it out checking to see if it was your parents trying to reach you. Your brows furrowed at the notification from that app.
DynamightX has sent you a message!
You opened the app and clicked onto the chat between the two of you. Your brows pulled together.
DynamightX: finally spoke today in the group chat about ur quirk.
XAmethysta_: ok? What u coming here to insult me privately?
DynamightX: u should train with someone who can send high level blasts or hits at ur forcefields if u wanna make them more durable
Your lips parted in a slight shock, brows raising before pulling together again. Who the hell was this person? Why were they complimenting you. They always, always insult every other person who even speaks in that chat room. You didn’t really know how to respond fingers twitching but not typing.
DynamightX: or u can stay a weak ass nerd for all I care. Ur parents not teach u to thank someone when they’re helpin ya.
Your face warmed at their message. You chewed on your lip, glancing up and seeing your friends engrossed in conversation with one another as you quickly typed a response.
XAmethysta_: sorry thanks i’ll have to try that. Whats your quirk?
DynamightX is typing…
You sat staring a little longer when the text bubble disappeared, shrugging you stuck your phone back into your pocket and seen Kirishima and Kaminari had returned. He placed a tray of your favourite food in front of you and your eyes lit up as you looked at him.
“Aw my favourite!” You grinned as his own crinkled eyes met yours. “You didn’t have to Kirishima but thank you”
“Y-Yeah well I just seen it and y’know I know you’ve mentioned its your favourite so-“ he rubbed the back of his neck as his cheeks matched his hair. You just blushed and smiled back as you turned to dig in.
Bakugou glanced at the food you were eating and then back at you. You were completely unaware of the blondes eyes on you as you spoke to Uraraka who sat across from you. He looked back down at his phone which sat under the table in his lap as he stared at the message which he didn’t want to send.
He wanted to keep who he was a secret to whoever this person he was texting was. It was..nice not having any expectations.
…
02:00AM
There you were again tossing and turning unable to sleep as you groaned and tossed the blanket from your body. You would think with how impressive and highly modernised UA was that they could at least install better air conditioning.
You sat up shifting some pillows behind your back and grabbing your phone. It had been just over a week of messaging this boy something you had found out after talking about a new clothing line and being told to shut up because he was a boy and he didn’t care.
XAmethysta_: u awake?
Your fingers twiddled with one another as you stared at the message. He probably wasn’t he went to bed every single night between 10 and 11pm, sometimes earlier but never later than 11. You wished you had that sleep schedule. You always stayed up late.
You sighed and moved to set your phone back down when it buzzed and you flicked it back on seeing his username beside the notification. You couldn’t stop the grin sneaking its way onto your face as your toes curled into the sheets. You were just happy to have someone to talk to.
It would he weird to be crushing on someone you don’t even know even if you have been talking non-stop for over a week.
DynamightX: i was till u texted me. What’dya want loser
You chewed your lips and rolled your eyes.
XAmethysta_: shut up u grump. I can’t sleep.
DynamightX: so why is that my problem??
XAmethysta: because everyone else is asleep rn and ur not! C’mon theres a reason why ur awake, tell me.
You waited for a response and whilst you waited Bakugou sat against his head board staring at the same string of messages. His own skin warm and face relaxed for once. A whisper of a smile on his face as he typed then deleted and then retyped but then deleted again the same string of words just laid out differently. His cheeks puffed out as he finally decided to share some personal information and hit send.
DynamightX: this girl I go to school with was annoying me today
XAmethysta_: oh what did she do?
DynamightX: nothing specific she just is annoying. Her face or something idk
You snorted at his response. This poor girl she probably is very nice and just goes about her day and this guy just finds her annoying for some reason. Bakugou waited for your response after sharing that information. He didn’t share a lot about himself to you, maybe it was the stranger danger instilled within him from a child or because you shared enough for the both of you.
He knew a lot about you already after such a short time. He knew your favourite song, animal and colour. The way you like to organise your clothes and the food you like the most. He even knew about some of your friends but you didn’t mention names. He knew things about you except your actual name and what you looked like.
XAmethysta_: lol her face or something? Shut up you probably hate her cuz shes better than u
DynamightX: shut up loser. I’m better than everyone at this school
XAmethysta_: yeah sureee if thats not why u dislike her then ask her to train with u and beat her
DynamightX: don’t tell me what to do. Why are u up anyways
XAmethysta_: AC in my schools dorms suck. Too warm rn
DynamightX: try sweatin all the time cuz of your quirk then complain to me about bein too warm
XAmethysta: omg! Is your quirk sweat?! Is that why you insult other people is being able to sweat loads your quirk!
DynamightX: shut up u ass it is not my quirk and that counts as ur guess for today.
XAmethysta: noo cmon that can’t count as my guess. Its not even the morning
DynamightX: it counts so quit yappin at me and accept it. I’m going to bed now to don’t msg me botherin me.
XAmethysta: okayyy ur so dramatic ! Sweet dreams sweaty boy!
DynamightX is typing…
You clicked your phone off and rolled over to bed closing your eyes and smiling slightly as you thought of the boy you were messaging. You eyes closing as you fell asleep.
Bakugou, however, was sat chewing his lip as he stared at his message to you.
:My quirk is Explosion. I could beat you any day loser.
He deleted it and threw his phone aside as he pulled the sheets over him, thinking about who he was texting and feeling his skin prickle. His mind going to the advice you gave him and the feeling turned sour as he thought about you. The girl he went to school with. He really disliked you. He didn’t know why nor did he care but he knew now what he was going to do
He was going to take your advice and confront you with a battle.
Prom queen
Yuji itadori x femreader!
Part 3!
Content warning: fluff, drinking, lil angst, minor inumaki pinning
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Your palms were sweaty as you stepped into school. Today was the day of prom and of course school was still on. You could hear the hall buzz with talk of dresses, dates and other related topics.
You were nervous, of course you were. You had a date to prom and not just any date but Yuji. The boy you grew up despising, hating and ignoring was now taking you to prom. It also didn’t help that he was well loved and heavily crushed on.
You could almost feel the knife in your back as you walked past girls. Still you held your head high and ignored the snottily turned noses, wasn’t your problem he didn’t pick them. You found yourself in homeroom and seen Nobara already sitting there.
“Hey, excited?” You asked finding your seat beside her. She turned wide eyed and grinning like a maniac.
“Yes and exhausted. I done so much last night!” She exclaimed as she showed her painted nails and even tan.
“Yeah? I had my everything shower to be fair. I left it super late so im honestly kinda—“ you cut yourself off with a yawn and she got the message laughing at you.
You weren’t there long before the bell rang and you both were up heading to your next class. Yours was fortunately science. You waved goodbye to Nobara who unfortunately had math with Mr. Geto.
You found your seat and took your books out, waiting for Mr. Gojo who will definitely be late. He always was. You opened your textbook and mindlessly read, not really absorbing the information and not noticing the person beside you. The scrap of a chair startled you and you jumped to look beside you only to see familiar pink tuffs.
“Yuji?” You met his eyes as the crinkled with a smile. His cheeks dusting pink as he took his books out.
“Hey! I hope you don’t mind me sitting here. I wanted to talk about—um, prom and y’know everything” He informed and you just nodded. You didn’t really feel anything towards him now, well, you liked him obviously, after finding out he was not your childhood bully.
But it was still strange. You literally loathed this man up until yesterday and now here he was talking about prom. Your stomach fluttered a bit at the thought again. You and Yuji going to prom. You couldn’t deny your girlish feelings that bubbled at the silly dream of going to prom with the popular boy.
Yuji wasn’t all that bad looking..
“Y-Yeah sure, what did you want to talk about?” You asked, playing with the folded edge of the textbooks page.
“Oh! Well y’know do you wanna come to my house? Or i-I can come to yours if its easier and then—or we can meet up there too!” It was kind of funny seeing him behave like this, stumbling over words with no clear structure.
You giggled at him and he only sucked his lip between his teeth, dropping his shoulders. You reached and patted the hand he had on the table composing yourself and looking at him again.
“I’ll be getting ready with Nobara and arriving with her so we can just meet at the place, sound good?” Yuji perked up like a puppy nodding in agreement quickly. His heart was hammering from when you touched him.
“Yea! Sounds great!” He gave you a smile and your heart skipped a bit.
The class eventually started after your teacher arrived very late. Yuji couldn’t focus. He kept stealing glances, never having the chance to be so close to you. His cheeks warmed and eyes couldn’t help but stare at you. The way your brows knitted at a particularly challenging passage or the small smile that curled on your lips when you figured it out.
The bell rang all too soon and he was left alone. The memory of your gleaming smile as you confirmed you’d see him later all he had as he watched you leave the classroom. .
…
The whole school by lunch time was chattering loudly about prom. The lunch hall seemed fuller than usual probably lower classmates wanting to hear all the details and possible drama.
You found Nobara at your usual spot. Maki looming over her with a grin as your chestnut friend blushed profusely. You set your tray down gaining the attention of the two girls who looked to you.
“Hey Y/N” Maki gave you a nod before looking back to Nobara “see you later”
She smoothed her hand over Nobara’s head before walking off to her table. You found your eyes drifting from Nobara and over to him. His pink hair shaking as he laughed with Todo, who was harshly slapping his hand on his back. His eyes creased and pearly teeth on display. You felt your own cheeks stretch as a small smile formed.
He did have a pretty smile.
Todo noticed you first and shook Yuji’s shoulder as they both sobered up. Yuji’s head snapping round and catching you staring. He grinned once more and waved at you. You found your cheeks warming and stretching into a small smile as you raised your hand and gave a slight wave back.
Your view of Yuji was suddenly blocked as the familiar colour of your navy uniform appeared. You tilted your head back and met the narrowed eyes of a girl you knew was in your year but didn’t know her name.
“Y/N isn’t it?” You opened your mouth but she didn’t wait “i see you waving to Yuji”
“Thats cute. Hes super friendly its almost bothersome” her feigned laugh was anything but friendly as your brows knitted together. She twirled a lock of hair around a manicured finger.
“Anyways. I heard a little rumor that Yuji asked you to prom!” she snorted loudly “which is hilarious since he’s already taking me”
You glanced over to Nobara who was definitely stabbing the girl in her mind as she glared. Her knuckles white around the fork she held. You panned your attention back, now seeing a chance to speak.
“Thats odd. I think i’d know if Yuji asked me to prom” you turned again “right Nobara?”
“Yea—yeah. You’re going to prom with Inumaki sure” She lied and you followed on as you flashed a smile to the girl whos nostrils had stopped flaring and brows weren’t so poised.
“Inumaki? Hes quiet isn’t he but i’m sure you’ll look cute together!” She turned on her heel giving a wave “thanks for clearing that up!”
Your eyes fell back before you were Yuji sat still staring. His eyes wide and almost worried. You felt your chest warm as you swung your self off your chair and gathered your tray up having lost your appetite.
Your cheeks puffed out and feet almost stomping the ground as you left the lunch hall. You groaned internally at your stupidity, of course Yuji wasn’t serious. You felt your eyes well as memories of your childhood flashed as a bittersweet reminder.
Him and Sukuna definitely tag-teamed you. They definitely bet on who could be more horrid. You kept walking, vision blurry and nose runny.
Yuji has certainly won well.
You didn’t see—no you felt it first or actually them. You stumbled back, almost falling on your butt until a hand reached around your waist and fingers scrunched the jumper you wore, steadying you whilst pulling you forward.
“Shit—sorry, um-“ you paused looking up to see who you accidentally rammed into—it was Inumaki. Your cheeks warmed slightly from embarrassment.
“I’m really sorry Inumaki! I wasn’t watching at all where i was going” You stepped out of the hold he had on you and bowed your head slightly to apologise.
“It’s alright” He stated, noticing your red eyes “are you okay?”
“Oh, yeah um—just some girl came up to me talking about Yuji taking her to prom” You mumbled not really wanting to think about how after so many years he managed to hurt you once more.
“Is he not taking you to prom?” Inumaki asked, brows furrowing a bit and you just nodded subtly.
“Apparently not. This girl said he was already taking her” you muttered glancing up at him.
He opened his mouth to reply, cheeks tinging pink at what he was about to ask you when Nobara rounded the corner.
“Y/N!” You turned round and he missed his chance, deciding it was time to leave and turned himself.
“See you at prom Y/N” he called as he left.
“What happened? What was that girl on about?” Nobara asked. You just puffed your cheeks and shrugged.
“I have no idea. I don’t know who she is but you heard her apparently Yuji is taking her” Your fingers curled into your palms as you both walked towards the exit. You didn’t feel like staying in school any longer.
“I think i recognise her. I think her name is Yuko. I’m pretty sure her and Yuji used to date” Nobara told you and your heart dropped a bit as you suddenly remembered seeing them together a few times.
How could you be so stupid to believe Yuji?
…
You huffed staring at yourself in the mirror as a piece of hair refused to sit properly. Nobara stood behind you looking into the same mirror as she pulled her dress on. It really was beautiful.
“This bag or this one Y/N?” She asked and you swivelled round.
“That one” pointing to the one in her left hand. She nodded in agreement. You turned back around eventually managing to sort your hair and then slip your heels on just as her mother called yous both down.
“Come on girls! You don’t want to be late” You hauled yourselves into the car and began the drive, unable to stop yourself from biting at your freshly painted nails.
“Whats wrong?” Nobara asked and you glanced over at her.
“I just feel so stupid for believing Yuji—like seriously what was I actually thinking when he told me it was his twin brother” you groaned looking back out the window.
“I know. Hes an asshole but y’know what we are gonna have thee best night and y’know why” You looked back over waiting for her to continue when you watched her pull out two flasks from her bag before quickly stuffing them back in.
You just giggled and she shushed you as you pulled up to the venue that was hosting your prom. You waved goodbye to her mother and turned seeing a lot of people mingling outside. You recognised a few from the year below obviously being dates of people in your year.
You walked into the venue and found your way down to the huge room with flashing lights and music thumping out of it. Almost immediately you were swarmed by your friends. Maki, Inumaki, Yuta and Kasumi.
“Nobara you’re looking real cute” Maki grinned as she curled her arm around your friends waist.
You glanced around trying to see who all was here when you found someone already staring. Your eyes narrowed as they fell upon Yuji’s round ones. A smile on his face as he began to step forward.
No—absolutely not.
Your lips curled and you turned your face away to Nobara, grabbing her bag and sneaking your flask out. You quickly darted off to the large table with finger food and drinks. There was no way you could be near him or be any way sober. You dumped some of your alcohol into the glass of lemonade before quickly slipping the flask into your own bag.
“You not gonna share that?” You shoulders tensed at the voice behind you not recognising it until you turned around and met Inumaki.
“Oh-sorry, d’ya want some?” You asked pulling it back out. Inumaki offered his cup to you and you poured some into it.
“Thanks, so are you excited to be here?” He asked as yous moved a bit closer to the corner.
“Sorta I guess—can only hope the night goes good” You shrugged. “Anyways, who are you here with?”
“I’m by myself” he told you and your brows creased slightly.
“Really?” You were surprised he was here alone. You’ve heard a few girls discuss having crushes on Inumaki.
“You sound surprised—why? Do you think I should have brought someone” he asked tipping his cup to his lips.
“Oh-well yeah. I mean i’ve heard a few people talk about crushing on you y’know—its not surprising that they would have a crush on you so its like weird you’re here alone” you rambled, cheeks warming a bit after realising what you implied.
No way you were this much of a light weight.
“Not surprising? What are you tryna say Y/N” his lips tipped up in a smirk and your cheeks burned. You were praying your foundation was hiding how red your face felt.
You fumbled over words as you tried to give an excuse to your implication when you both were interrupted.
“Y/N—you coming to dance?” It was Yuji. You turned your head seeing the pink haired boy smile at you. You just rolled your eyes.
“No Yuji, leave me alone” You grumbled and his brows shot up. Why were you acting like this? He thought everything was okay now between you two.
“Hey—wait, whats wrong? D-Did I do something?” His heart was falling to his stomach and being shot back up by the bubbling feeling of sick.
“Do something wrong? Please—you asked me to prom whilst having a girlfriend” You snapped, swigging the rest of your drink and spinning on your heel.
Yuji’s feet scuffed the ground as he tried to go after you when a hand grabbed at his bicep and he turned to see Inumaki staring with knitted brows.
“Leave her be Yuji. You made her cry earlier today, don’t ruin tonight for her just cause you’re an ass” Yuji’s mouth fell open. He didn’t understand what could possibly had of happened between science class and now for you to hate him again.
“I didn’t make her cry! Inumaki what are you talking about? Why is she so mad?” His head was getting sore and the thumping music was just making it worse.
“You did just before lunch ended she ran into me saying you asked her to prom and that some girl came to her during lunch saying you were already going with her” Inumaki explained. Yuji’s eyes widened as he tried to think who would tell you that. He hadn’t asked anyone else or even hinted he would. He wanted to take you and only you.
His brows pulled together as he thought hard spinning himself round again as his eyes searched you in the crowds but he couldn’t spot you anywhere. His shoulders slumped feeling the night was already ruined as he reached into his pocket and pulled the pink rose corsage he bought for you.
He even forced Maki to find out the colour of your dress so he could match his tie to it. Did you even notice?
He headed back over to Megumi and Todo leaving Inumaki with nothing else to say and sitting down at the table they had. His head in his palms.
“Brother whats wrong?” Todo slapped a strong hand down on Yuji’s shoulder as he leaned over him.
“It’s Y/N! Apparently some girl told her that I was already taking her to prom and now Y/N probably thinks I was pulling some prank to hurt her again” Yuji cried, exasperated that the one chance he managed to fix things with you was ruined.
“Some girl? Who told you this?” Todo asked, pulling his chair closer. Megumi even decided this was worth paying attention to as he straightened himself up.
“Inuamki he was with Y/N and I went to ask her to dance and she walked off. Inumaki said that she was crying earlier today because some girl told her that” Yuji explained further. He just wanted to go home. He wasn’t all that interesting in prom he just wanted a reason to spend time with you.
“Some girl?…do you think it was Yuko? Shes always had a crazy crush on you Yuji” Megumi piped up and Yuji’s eyes widened in realisation. His chair scrapping the floor as he stood up.
“Ah Megumi! You’re so smart! It probably was Yuko!” Yuji grinned as he darted off.
He searched everywhere for you pushing through the dance crowd multiple times, checking the corners, peoples tables and waiting outside the girls bathroom for a questionable period. He puffed his cheeks out with a sigh when he spotted Maki and Nobara.
“Nobara! Do you know where Y/N is?” Nobara groaned as Yuji approached them.
“No Yuji I don’t and y’know what—“ she hiccupped, spinning away from Maki on a wobbly heel and jamming a filed finger into Yuji’s chest.
“You’re an ass. She was really looking forward to going to—to prom with you an-an” Maki slipped an arm around Nobara’s waist and hauled the kicking girl up as she gave a thumb towards the exit door.
Yuji nodded with a small smile and bumped by people who were still coming in, trying to spot you in the crowd of peers and classmates. He eventually found himself outside. The sky dark with stars glistening. He turned his head left and right seeing if you were about he when spotting you down on a bench.
He slipped in beside you and you turned your head, huffing out and rolling your eyes as you went to get up. His fingers wrapped around your wrist stopping you from moving.
“P-Please hear me out Y/N!” He begged, eyes wide with worry as you glanced down at him. You sat back down.
Maybe it was the almost empty flask deciding your decisions right now. You stayed silent, turning to look at him with slightly glossy eyes. His heart skipped as he swallowed dryly.
“U-um, Inumaki told me about what—what happened and that girl Yuko..shes been obsessed with me since first year!” Your fingers curled into your palms at the mention of her. He watched your brows knit and he quickened his pace.
“I don’t like her back! We never dated and i never asked her to prom! I-I promise Y/N” he shot out, reaching into his blazer pocket and fumbling with the small box that held the matching pink corsage.
“S-See? I even matched my tie to your dress. I got Maki to ask Nobara what colour you got” His lips tipped into a small smile as his cheeks tinged. He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly as he looked at you.
You glanced at him, then the tie and then the corsage. Your lip sucked between your teeth as you chewed his words over. Did he really mean it? Was he telling the truth. You sighed deeply, growing annoyed you believed that girl. You had seen her earlier wearing a disgustingly gross bright green dress. Your nose wrinkled at the vomit green that flashed through your mind.
“Are you actually telling the truth Yuji?” You mumbled, blinking your eye lashes at him. His cheeks warmed further at you.
“Y-yes! Of course I am. I really like you Y/N and I-I know you don’t like me back—“ his eyes met yours, fingers unknowingly curling around your palm.
“Which is okay but I want to give you a good prom” he gave his typical smile, pearly teeth on display and eyes creasing. You felt your mood lighten instantly and you reached your other hand out.
“Okay Yuji. I think the corsage you got is pretty” you complimented and he smiled as he took both hands and slipped it on you. He stood up and held a hand out for you.
You took it letting go and sliding a hand up his arm to wrap in the nook of his elbow as you walked back in together, leaning rather close to him. His cheeks burned now as he kept his eyes ahead. He should probably get a drink.
It was definitely the alcohol that you consumed that led you onto the dance floor with Yuji, passing a huffing Yuko who was sat in the corner with her friends fawning over her. You smiled up at the pink haired man, wrapping your arms around his neck as he laid rigid palms on the small of your waist.
“You’re so tense Yuji, is something wrong?” You asked. He sucked a breath in as he finally looked down at you.
You looked so pretty. He couldn’t believe you were dancing with him right now.
“Y-Yeah” He forced out through clenched teeth. He was so nervous. He didn’t want to mess this up.
You only hummed and leaned closer turning your head and resting it on his shoulder. Your breath on his neck as a particularly quiet song played. Yuji’s breath hitched as he felt yours fan against his neck, tickling him. His eyes darting about and finding Todo and Megumi staring at him.
Todo gave him a large thumbs up and started mimicking a kissing motion as he pointed at you. Yuji shook his head furiously and you stirred a bit shifting to pull away as your fingers played with the small hairs on his neck.
“Y’sure you’re okay Yuji?” You hummed again, staring up at the pink faced boy. Your smile was so pretty.
“Y-Yeah um ju-just Todo being weird” he muttered, eyes fixing back to his friend. You hummed and began to turn your head but Yuji was quicker.
His fingers slipped just to your hips and spun you around. You squealed with a giggle as his other hand slipped to your lower back and he gave you a dip before pulling you back up. Your body flush against his as you giggled up at him.
The flask was now empty by the way. When did that happen?.
“Yuji! When did you learn how to do that?!” You asked grinning from ear to ear as you looked up ay him. He just shrugged trying to play it cool whilst butterflies swarmed his stomach.
“Thank you for bringing me to prom by the way Yuji. The night has been really nice” you mumbled, moving your head back to his shoulder. He slipped his hands around your waist and pulled you into a tight hug before resting his fingers back at your hips.
“Thank you for giving me a chance Y/N. I’m sorry again for everything Sukuna did. I never knew” he told you and you pulled your head back shaking your head, tipping yourself onto the tips of your heels and planting a small kiss by the corner of his lip.
His cheeks burned and his eyes widened as you leaned back down, giggling some more at his stunned expression.
“C’mon let’s go get some photos with everyone!” You grabbed his hand in yours and dragged him off to find your friends as you spotted the photographer making his way around.
Yuji’s heart was thumping hard, stomach twirling and cheeks sore from the large smile etched on his face.
He couldn’t have asked for a better night.
And neither could you.

“H-Hawks!” His head turned as he spotted your bright white wings in the dark sky. A small smile settling on his face as you landed on the rooftop beside him. You sat down on the ledge, dangling your legs over with him.
“Hey Angel, whatcha’ up to?” He asked, staring ahead at the city, ignoring his increasing heart rate and warm skin.
A routine now settled between you both ever since the first night Dabi requested you go out to find Hawks. A routine that you both enjoyed but hated. You loved being able to just be out, to just stretch you wings and see things without Dabi hut hated why, hated how you would be made to ask Hawks specific questions, hated that this pro hero wasn’t a good guy. He couldn’t help you.
“Any crime tonight?” You asked glancing over at him and ignoring your own beating heart. The feelings that were settled deep in your stomach refused to leave and only grew. It hadn’t been long into this routine. A few more days before it would end but something about Hawks drew you to him.
“Nah, pretty quiet night” He yawned, tipping the remnants of his coffee can into his mouth. “What about you Angel? Anything nee in the League?”
“No, not really- well, actually we are mean’t to be leaving this city soon” Hawks feathers bristled as he shifted his earphones around his neck.
“Yeah? Forgot about that actually. Dabi mentioned it a while ago” He lied. His head turning to you as he smiled softly. Your heart skipping as your cheeks darkened.
“Y-yeah? We are heading to Deika city” You stated dumbly, very dumbly.
“Deika city! Thats the one Dabi mentioned though he never said what for. He did want me there, do you know why Angel?” Hawks prodded, you shook you head softly.
“No sorry Hawks. I don’t know why he wants you there but I know its because All for One has left something for Shigaraki to help him” Hawks just nodded cooly. Your mind elsewhere and missing the click of his phone.
“Hmm thats okay Angel. I haven’t heard from Dabi in a while y’know. You think you could mention to him about meeting up?” Hawks asked. His head turning back to gaze down on the city.
“Yeah sure! Um, do you have a place in mind? Or just want me to say to Dabi to contact you?” You asked feathers flittering behind you as the wind picked up.
“Hm? Just ask him to contact you- oh! I know. You have a cellphone yeah?” Hawks asked now turning back. You opened your mouth but the words stuck to your throat as you tried to conjure up a plausible lie.
No hawks! I do not have a phone actually! Dabi keeps me against my will and therefore i am unable to contact anyone.
But before you could force a lie out his headphones beeped. He flicked his visor down which now had a screen displayed and stood up sliding his headphones on and turning to you. He waved a quick goodbye and shot through the air not wasting another moment. You stared in slight awe at the swiftness of the Pro-Hero.
…
03:00am
You were still out. You weren’t ready to go back yet nor did you want to. Your wings lazily kept you afloat in the air as you looked at the lit up city below. You wanted nothing more than to drop down and venture through the streets, window shop all the closed boutiques and grab a snack from some 24hour store but Dabi would kill you if you dared.
You scanned the sky before you. You were honestly hoping you’d see Hawks again, especially since Dabi wasn’t happy that you hadn’t got much information out of the hero yet. Your hooded eyes darted about once more. A yawn breaking your lips apart when a flash of red zoomed by.
Your eyes widened and your wings flexed as you followed the red flash that was slowing down, staggering and almost looked to be falling. You moved quickly, wings soaring against the air as you dropped to the red and yellow blur that was Hawks.
You seen now, seen that his wings were small barely there and definitely unable to support himself. His face was bruised and bloodied. His clothes torn. Your hands reached out and grabbed at his jacket. The weight of the pro almost caused you to fall with him but you pushed through, flexed your wings further and flapped harder.
His eyes widened as much as they could with the swelling skin at the angel above him—you, Angel. You had saved him from plummeting to his death. He watched you struggle and forced himself to wake up, to help you as much as he could. The last of his feathers left him, plumes falling away and zipping round to you.
A gasp left your lips as they filtered in with your own and gave you strength. The feeling was foreign and odd as you could almost feel the connected tether to each individual red plume. They clung to your white ones with support and allowed to you lift both Hawks and yourself. It took some struggling but you were able to pull him against your chest. Your arms wrapping tightly around his chest and under his shoulders.
“Heh—you really are an Angel huh, savin’ my life like that” Hawks mumbled against the skin of your neck where his heavy head rested.
Your cheeks burned at the feeling of his mouth on your skin. His hands lazily came and wrapped themselves around the small of your waist hugging closer to you.
Hawks knew he shouldn’t. He knew he could hold somewhere else, grab your arm or just keep his hands limp but he wanted to. These feelings that swelled in his chest, caused his heart to quicken, stomach to flutter and worst his bottoms to tighten. He could let them out just this once. After all he was technically hurt, technically not in a right state of mind.
“U-Um..You’re hurt! Hawks—where do I bring you?” You asked. The obvious answer was a hospital but you couldn't go there. You couldn't be seen. You sucked your lip between harsh teeth as you waited his reply.
You wanted for his response, wings flapping slower now getting used to the support from Hawks feathers and no longer feeling as though you were going to drop any moment now. Hawks brows knitted together as he felt his chest grow tighter.
Definitely a broken rib
"My place-ju-just bring me to my place" You nodded with firmness and took off. Hawks giving you muffled directions as your fingers curled into his back whilst you flew through the air.
You eventually found his place. A penthouse apartment. You landed on the roof as Hawks instructed..well more like fell on the roof. The minute your knees touched the ground you buckled unable to hold him up with just the strength of your legs. Hawks coughed at the abrupt landing and you immediately fumbled to get him back up
A string of apologies leaving your lips as you hooked his arm around your neck and positioned yourself under his arm to carry him in. Hawks only shushed you with a laugh but you could hear the strain behind it. You found his living room and gently set him down, turning the lights on. Finally getting a good look at the injured hero.
"H-Hawks you should really go to hospital!" You crouched down on bent knees before him. Your hands flying in all directions as did your eyes, unsure what injury to tend to first. He only rolled his eyes and set his head back on the sofa, spreading his legs with a sigh.
"M'alright Angel. I don't needa go to a hospital, just a few scratches" He reassured as he pulled his glove off and carded his fingers through his hair, pulling it back from his face. He put his avian eyes on you, taking you in from where you kneeled before him.
He couldn't deny how pretty you looked right now, even with only half your face showing. He just knew under that silly mask were pretty pink lips all chewed up with worry, worry that consumed your face as your brows wrinkled and eyes creased.
His hand moved before he could think to stop it. His rough thumb hooked round the top of your mask and tugged. It fell without much effort. Your lips parted and eyebrows raised as his thumb continued to smooth over your cheek. Your heart beat flooded your ears, stomach fluttered. His thumb moved just slightly down to the edge of your pink lips. You didn't mean to, it wasn't intentional as your tongue dipped out to wet the dry, cracking skin.
His eyes narrowed and his chest swelled. His skin bubbled with warmth and skin prickled as he hooked a finger under your chin and dragged your face forward. He wanted you up here, up on top of him.
You both wanted each other..until, until you realised--no, you shook your head, snapping yourself from his memorising eyes and looking away. Dabi's threat overriding what you truly wanted. Your quirk always putting him first and now.. now
You felt like you were going to be sick.
You snapped yourself from the fizzy of thoughts that bubbled in your mind and fell back onto your bum away from his hand. Your hand coming to slip the mask back up as you stumbled up. Hawks seemed to snap out of whatever it was he was under and tried to get up with you but fell back down and almost immediately the overwhelming atmosphere that consumed the both of you had disappeared and your concern returned to his injuries.
You looked around and spotted his kitchen, walking over and finding his kettle. You quickly boiled some water, found a clean washcloth and bowl. You checked under the sink and luckily found a medkit, bringing it all back to the coffee table before him.
You grabbed the warm, damp cloth and took a seat beside him. Your eyes fixated on anything but his as you gently pressed the cloth to the open wounds, cleaning both dry and fresh blood from his face. Your lip jutting out a bit as you found yourself annoyed someone would want to disfigure such an attractive man.
No--stop, don't think that. Hawks is not handsome.
He stayed silently as he allowed you to press and prod at his face. Your delicate fingers moving his face as you pleased, cleaning, wiping and disinfecting; which did sting a bit. You were eventually somewhat pleased and cleaned everything up, coming back to stand in front of him swinging your arms slightly as you still avoided eye contact.
"Thank you" Hawks low voice made you jolt a bit as you finally glanced at his eyes. They were tired and hooded as he stared back at you. A small ghost of a smile on his face.
"Y-You're welcome, anyone would have done it" You mumbled, grabbing your arm with your hand and once again turning your head to look out the large glass wall. The sun was beginning to rise.
"Maybe they would have but i'm glad it was you" His statement caused your cheeks to tinge pink as a smile broke out under your mask. Hawks liked how your eyes crinkled, at least he knew you were smiling.
"D-do you want me to call anyone? A friend..or, um- girlfriend?" You couldn't help but add that in. You were curious, thats all nothing more.
Just curious, you didn't care if he did or not. It wouldn't matter or change anyt-
"Girlfriend? No-" he laughed a bit, hand flexing up to his chest "no girlfriend unfortunately"
He eyed you a bit watching as your brow quirked ever so slightly. How your eyes widened just a bit and pupils dilated. Hawks wouldn't mind having you as his little girlfriend.
He shut his eyes at the thoughts that rushed to him and suppressed a groan. He already spoke to his doctor about these stupid primal needs that were getting in the way of his rationality but the only advice from his doctor was..
"Well, unfortunately Hawks science hasn't developed anything for people with your type of need. The best thing we have found is to just give in and find someone suited to it. It helps it pass quicker"
His cheeks burned and you noticed the sudden redness of his face, reaching a hand down. You pressed it to his cheek, catching him off-guard-when did he close his eyes? He looked up at you, seeing your brows knitted again in worry as you quickly walked off and shortly came back with a glass of water for him and some tablets.
"Take these. Do you want me to bring you to your bedroom?" You asked and Hawks glanced at the rising sun. He'd get no sleep in here with those big windows. He nodded curtly and reached a hand out.
You repeated your earlier actions, allowing him to lean on you as he guided you to his bedroom. The curtains were already drawn as you sat him on his bed and took a step back, placing the cup of water on the bedside table.
"I'll be alright, y'can go y'know" he reassured you with a small smile. You eyed him warily as he began to, well, struggle to take his top off. Pausing and wincing every few seconds as a sharp pain shot down his chest.
"Let me help you into bed then ill go" Hawks had no time to protest as you grabbed the hem of his shirt and pulled it the rest of the way off. A little to roughly for the weakened man and he tipped back blindly reaching a hand to grab something.
That something was you. His fingers curled tightly around your wrist and dragged you down with him. The bed caught you both with a bounce as he let out a staggered groan from your sudden weight on his definitely broken rib. You quickly pressed your hands to either side of him and lifted yourself so you were face to face with him.
"Are you crazy? Hawks I could have hurt you more!" You scolded him, completely ignoring just how close you were. Now laying between his spread legs
He just rolled his eyes at you and choked a laugh. You quickly stood back up and crossed your arms.
"Right thats it, i am leaving and I want you to rest" he waved a lazy hand at your retreating figure.
"You sound like a doting girlfriend Angel!" He yelled after you and your cheeks burned. "Gonna need my feathers back too!"
You stilled as what felt like sand bristling through your feathers caught you off guard. One by one his red plumes wriggled themselves free from their snug positions between your own plumes. The feeling was odd and sent a tingling feeling down your spin as you pushed the glass door open to the balcony and looked at the bright sky.
A sigh leaving your puffed cheeks as you jumped from the ledge and spread your wings out. Dabi was going to kill you. He always expected you back before the sun broke free.
You did not want to imagine the anger that was etched across his marred face. You knew how he would act. He was definitely already in your room, possibly trashed it in a fit of anger before sitting calmly on your bed. The only sign he was in any way furious would be the tap of his shoe. A tell tale sign that his patience was wearing thin.
You chewed your lip as you thought of an excuse, some lie to tell him. If you were able to believe the lie yourself. Your thoughts so caught up in your growing anxiety you failed to notice the tiny red plume that wriggled its way further into the fluff of white feathers, hiding itself.
