“You wouldn’t have seen a book lying around here, would you?” Erin asked. “I was sitting here like an hour ago, and I had this little leatherbound book, when I got home I couldn’t find it, and I tipped my whole bag out and everything and it’s definitely not there.”

Anna moved into the back and returned a moment later with a box, “I just cleaned so if you left it here, it’s in this box,” she explained, “I’m not sure I remember seeing it unless one of my colleagues grabbed it.”

“Don’t worry, I’m aware of that,” Anna said, watching the rowdy crowd from the bar, “Unfortunately, laughing loudly and being a bit wild isn’t against bar policy but I’m keeping an eye. A few more drinks and I’m sure there’ll be a brawl,” she sighed, “Thank you for letting me know though. Can I get you another drink?”

“I’m trying to assess how likely it is I’d fall into that bracket as to whether to be concerned or not.” Hunter explained simply. “But you’re right, you shouldn’t have to lower the bar. For which, if necessary, I’ll just stay out of the way.”

“Well you haven’t thus far so keep up what you’re doing and you won’t,” Anna replied, smiling and shrugging, “Good, good. Still staying above that bar then,” she teased.

“I certainly can’t blame you,” Valeria laughed in response, knowing that most sane people would’ve turned down the piñata from the get-go. “I had to make the mistake to learn, right?” she shrugged, returning to cleaning the sparkles from her floorboards. “Eh, it’s alright. At least I draw the line at foam parties. Hosting one of those would wreck these interiors.”

“I suppose that is the way you’re meant to learn best,” Anna replied and then laughed, “I don’t fully get the point of indoor foam parties. I mean, I’ve seen the outdoor ones, been to one actually. They’re fun and make sense to me but indoor ones seem too risky.”

“Hey sometimes sacrifices have to be made to make an extra Galleon here and there,” she shrugged back while the other expressed how against the cleanup they were. “But I get wanting to steer clear of that.”

“There are certain things I won’t do for an extra Galleon and glitter pinantas is one of them,” Anna said, laughing, “It’s just a nightmare waiting to happen as evidenced by...” she gestured to the mess in front of them, “Props to you for even trying.”

“Perhaps,” Anna replied. That was all she was giving him anyway. She snorted, “Uh huh, sure you do. I just happen to be better.”

“As you should be.” Fred couldn’t help but joke anyway, a grin on his face as he wrapped an arm around her shoulder and gave Anna a gentle hug. “Well I have been told I’m an extraordinary person and that I am not like most people so that probably explains it.”

“Who’s been telling you you’re extraordinary? We can’t have you getting a big head now,” Anna teased as she wrapped an arm around his waist, “Let’s not mention that you turned a comment about me into a compliment for you.”

“My apologies, my dear, I will do better,” he promised. “And that’s good to hear, I do hate it when my friends are angry at each other and you know how bad I am at taking sides.” Percy took the drink and had a sip, immediately licking his lips afterwards. “Woah, now that’s something. I think I finally found my new signature drink,” he added, smiling. “Penelope and I are good, thank you for asking. Life’s alright, job’s alright, other stuff is… pretty much the same, so I can’t really complain.”

“Please do or I’ll have to start tracking you down,” Anna teased, “I am aware of that. Fortunately not you don’t have to, except when deciding between our movie choices when we watch one,” she continued in a joking tone. She gave him a little bow, “I do have my gifts.” She smiled, happy to hear that things were alright, “You can’t complain sure, but are you happy? That is what we should all strive for right.”

“Had one too many bad experiences with it?” he wondered when the woman said she wasn’t fond of the phrase. “Popcorn? Can’t say that came to mind for me but why not, right? Do you know anywhere nearby that’s got some on hand?” Spencer asked in a teasing manner.

“What can I say? I’m a tad superstitious. I believe the phrase jinxes the whole situation,” Anna replied, shrugging, “Probably somewhere but I imagine we’ll miss the action. If only there was just a street seller.”

“I am, aren’t I?” he chuckled back with a nod of his head. “Not as interesting? I doubt that– everyone’s got a story,” Luke replied. “Besides, I think Europe is far more exciting than America. But perhaps it’s because I know less about it.”

“I can assure you that you that my story is not that interesting,” Anna replied. It was subjective. Maybe the other would find it interesting but she didn’t want to talk about it, “Really? Some people here might think the opposite but I suppose it is a matter of opinion.”

“Remind me to never agree to host another party like that at my bar ever again,” she groaned, tossing some more trash away while some dishcloths and a mop magically cleaned the area in the far corner of the establishment. “Who puts glitter in a piñata? I thought it was always candy and confetti – not glitter. I’ll never get that shit out of my floors.”

“I mean I know I don’t own the bar I work at but I would never have agreed to a piñata. If my boss said anything of the sort, I would be taking the shift and the shift after off. Not that the Hog’s Head is a prime party venue but I would have no part in it.”

“I don’t really think about it but I don’t tend to talk excessively so probably not often.” Hunter admitted with a chuckle. “Should I be concerned that you have a low tolerance for annoying people?”

“I would have to agree,” Anna replied, laughing with him, “Are you saying that I should have a high tolerance for annoying people? I don’t think I should have to lower the bar for people who choose to be that way, do you?”

Percy blew her a kiss as he was taking a seat. “Feel free to surprise me, I’m open to anything,” he replied, grinning back. “How have you been, Annie? It’s been some time since I stopped by so I gotta know everything.”

Anna smiled, catching the kiss and holding it to her chest and widening her grin, still playful in her demeanor, “Oh I’ve been hopelessly lost with you, Perce,” she replied dramatically, starting to pour him a drink, something new but something she knew he’d like, “But truly nothing all that interesting. Just work. Made up with Freddie, finally got my act together and realised I needed him as a friend more than I needed the anger,” she paused and handed his drink over to him, “What about you? And how’s that redhead you ditched me for?” She teased.

“Good evening, Percy,” Anna said, smiling as he entered the bar. She always enjoyed seeing a familiar face at work. It was one of the perks of working at a bar, “What can I get you aside from my dazzling company?” She asked with a teasing grin.

“And I appreciate your patience in that regard,” Anna replied, smiling at him, “Most people wouldn’t have waited around for so long. I must mean so much to you,” she teased, nudging him playfully.
