This blog aims to create and cultivate a community for those with more complex systems.
This includes:
Complex DID / polyfragmented systems [[ NON EXCLUSIVE TERMS ]]
Extremely Complex DID / Highly Complex DID / programmed systems [[ EXCLUSIVE TO OEA ]]
This blog is anti endogenic, pro endos are not welcome here either. This is a blog about CDDs, ntg experiences are not relevant here. Polyminds & supporters are also not welcome. Please research how the brain actually works.
RAMCOA / OEA deniers DNI.
You may send in vents, questions, culture is posts, or really anything related to the cdid /hc+ec experience.
Op is 17, MDNI blogs keep this in mind. Call me Enigma. Op is a complex, polyfrag, programmed system (our preferred terms).
I saw a post that disgruntled me enough to want to talk about this, so here we are. There seems to be a heavy amount of misinformation on what "counts" as OEA, often excluding adult victims and non-programmed victims. So, within this post, we'll go over what the terms "OA, MC, and RA" mean, as well as commonly construed myths.
Organized Abuse
all-encompassing.
Organized abuse is a wide term that includes experiences of ritual abuse and mind control but is in no way exclusive to them. Often, only organized child sexual abuse is mentioned, which leaves out a lot of experiences it includes.
The most simple definition of organized abuse is "Abuse that involves a number of people doing something together in a pre-planned and/or structured way, rather than acting alone." In short terms, abuse done by multiple people in a planned way. [1]
All groups under the RAMCOA/OEA label will fall under this category. This includes, but is not limited to, Cults, Trafficking Rings, Labor Camps, "Troubled Teen" Camps, Intra-Familial Organized Abuse, and other experiences that fall under this definition. This includes victims indoctrinated into cults, trafficked, or otherwise abused as adults, as well as children born or brought into it. Location of the abuse (at home, in a church, at school, at a daycare, etc) doesn't matter, and someone does not have to go through ritual abuse or mind control to have experienced organized abuse.
Ritual Abuse
not inherently satanic.
Ritual abuse is a term often confused with SRA, or "Satanic Ritual Abuse," an outdated and often harmful label for forms of organized extreme abuse. Not all forms of organized abuse are ritual abuse.
Ritual abuse can be defined as "Abuse that occurs in a context where symbols or activities have superstitious, supernatural, or religious connotations. It is organised, often involving multiple perpetrators, and the abuse often happens as part of a rite or ceremony." Alternatively, the word 'ritual' refers to "a rite, ceremony or pseudo- religious service which involves a series of actions performed in a fixed order and/or at certain times; something that is done in the same way whenever a particular situation occurs." [1] [2]
Because of this, ritual abuse can be defined while including spiritual themes and non spiritual themes. So, many definitions include other forms of abuse that is ritualized/specifically repeated in nature, such as on a specific day or time or in a specific order.
This type of abuse is most dominated in literature by satanic overtones, once again from the term SRA. However, this is not exclusive to satanic cults. Any group based on a belief system or using other reoccurring themes/abuse can perpetrate ritual abuse. Though ritual abuse is also more commonly linked with mind control and child abuse, programming and age have no impact on if an experience is ritual abuse or not.
Survivors of ritual abuse include things like ritualistic ceremonies, games, symbols, set-ups, abuse on specific days/holidays, abuse in a specific order, etc as common experiences.
Mind Control
programming and beyond
Mind control tends to be the term that receives the most problems, as many people tend to only think of programming when hearing it. However, MC is not exclusive to programming survivors, and many types of MC have been recognized.
A good definition of MC is "Methods of thought reform to force submission or information from enemies and victims, or to indoctrinate and increase cooperation in members and captors," and is a synonym to coersive persuasion, defined as "attempts to force people to change beliefs, ideas, attitudes or behaviors using psychological pressure, undue influence, threats, anxiety, and/or intimidation." [3] [4]
Programming is an example of the far end of mind control, a severe form of conditioning. However, things such as cult and religious indoctrination, psychic driving, terrified submission, etc, are all also forms of MC that can occur within organized abuse. MC is not exclusive to child victims, as most forms of MC can be performed at any age.

To put it simply, HC-DID means "highly complex dissociative identity disorder". It is related to a "version" of DID where the system is formed in a diverse, often confusing way. For us, and many others, HC-DID is not meant to be a label that competes in trauma olympics. In fact, it doesn't necessarily have to do with trauma at all.
Highly complex DID forms during RAMCOA/OEA abuse. It is characterized by one or more side systems, with layers, fragments, hierarchies, and/or specific ways of functioning. Most of the time, HC-DID is a result of programming, although it can be from other types of RAMCOA/OEA.
We have seen a lot of controversy over the label HC-DID. It's not a label used by medical professionals, it's often seen as a way to describe systems who are "worse off", it was coined by a not so great person... on and on. So why do we choose to use the term?
It's the easiest way for us to describe what we went through without completely exposing ourselves.
When there is a label that I and other survivors of this horrific abuse can use to describe our experiences, it is often shut down by outside members of the system community. For us personally, it feels like yet another attempt to silence people like us. We will not be silenced again.
When we use HC-DID, here is what we are not doing:
- we are not saying our trauma was worse, more severe, or provided more of a result.
- we are not saying our system is better than anyone else.
- we are not supporting the individual who made the term.
- we are not using the term to explain our medical experience.
here is what we are doing:
- we are using the term in a non-medical, purely descriptive label.
- we are spreading awareness about what we survived.
- we are keeping ourselves safe from outside harm.
- we are providing basic information as to why our system functions the way it does.
Can programming be done like, unintentionally? Or at least to a degree where the people didn’t fully know what they were doing?
Also, how do you know if you’re programmed? Some of our parts are uh… very not normal compared to the others and over all feel different(?) if that makes any sense
No, programming cannot be done unintentionally. A key feature is that it is done intentionally by abusers to cause certain behaviours & to cause a system. If its unintentional then that is not programming.
If you are questioning programming, don’t force it. Don’t push for it. Let anything come to light as it naturally will. If you are programmed, there could be harmful programs triggered if you push too much for it.
Im not sure what you mean by certain alters being very different or ‘not normal’, this isn’t a ‘‘sign’’ of programming, and is relatively normal in any system
I hope this helps! I am not an expert, and if you are questioning anything please talk to one if you can. I cannot tell you if you’re programmed or not, I don’t know you, don’t know your trauma, and don’t know the inner workings of your system.
I'm a questioning singlet that's exclusively anti endo.
I have some questions if that's okay :]
would I still be a system if I like... programmed myself at a young age? this sounds kinda weird so let me explain
when I was younger I would pretend to be a different character (Ie, cinderella) when something traumatic happened. like if my former stepmom got violent towards me for whatever reason, I would pretend to be cinderella because I related to her
this led to me feeling like different characters or even what I thought were ocs so strongly I would get frustrated when someone referred to me as otherwise. I can also kinda have conversations with one of my characters? idk if she's just a character anymore tho.
This could definitely be a sign!! The fact that you can sort of communicate with them makes us lean towards the system side of things rather than the fictionkin side, but it’s good not to rule out anything just yet (plus they can coexist)
If we may ask a question about this (feel free to not respond) during those moments did/do you ever feel as though your body should match up more to that character? Or that things in your life seemed “wrong” such as feeling strange that you may not have had two abusive step sisters along side the step mother
Being a system is extremely complicated and just because you may not have a certain symptom doesn’t mean you aren’t one. It’s a huge spectrum!
hi! Just wanted to add in. This wouldnt fall under the label ‘programming’ as that describes events when an abuser intentionally creates behaviours & alters in a system or intentionally creates the system. This occurs in organised abuse most of the time and fits under rthe RAMCOA label (ritual abuse, mind control, organised abuse)
What classifies a system as a complex system // highly complex system?
Generally, “complex systems” and “polyfragmented systems” are interchangeable terms. These arent medical terms so basically- if it fits you it fits you
Generally complex systems / polyfrag systems have a higher fragment-to-alter ratio, more complex splitting patterns and system organisation (think subgroups, layers, subsystems), and often higher alter count.
‘Highly complex’ / ‘extremely complex’ / ‘programmed system’ are also interchangeable. These describe systems who have been through organised abuse and have programming. This can have a lot of the same features as complex systems but tend to have much more external influence, as well as things like sidesystems. These systems will have gone through OEA. Programming describes intentional abuse to create or manipulate a system and then affect the internal workings of a system to gain control of the sys in question.
A programmed system would be a system that has been intentionally abused into being a system
A system with programming describes a system that has been programmed, but not necessarily to form their system.
I hope this answers your question?
If any other systems have feedback on my explanation lmk 😭 I am not a professional, and may be incorrect
I've been hearing people say how there aren't that many anti endo spaces for people with C-DID/HC-DID, I kinda wanna make a blog called "anti endo cdid" or something like that, but I'm not a c-did/hc-did system, so it'd feel kinda weirdd..? Should I do it regardless? Or can somebody that's actually a c-did/hc-did system do it?
