“You can’t be a system!! You and ___ both do this!!!”
We still share a brain.
“You and ____ LOVEEE this!!”
We still share a brain.
“You and ____ talk very similarly!!!”
We still share a brain.
DID is simultaneously the most subtle, ambiguous disorder while also being the most intense, all-encompassing, extremely-personal-because-it-affects-fundamental-perceptions-like-memory-and-identity-at-all-hours-of-the-day disorder of all time.
the weird thing about being a very polyfragmented system is you can have as many contradictory traits as humanly possible at the same time. you can be empathetic and cold, bored and stimulated, assertive and meek, animated and flat and none of these even seem like they contradict half the time. they're just there
our mind has this unique way of organic traits into "Manifestations", if I was gonna compare it to other people's DID I'd call them "temporary alters". temporary collections of traits that form, stick around for short periods of time and then die/dissipate and never come back the same again. it's been frustrating but being able to understand that as well as have members who stick around more (Constructs), it's fine now.
it's very funny how people describe us certain ways because they have no clue how honest we actually are with them.
Welcome to antiendo-cdid!
This blog aims to create and cultivate a community for those with more complex systems.
This includes:
Complex DID / polyfragmented systems [[ NON EXCLUSIVE TERMS ]]
Extremely Complex DID / Highly Complex DID / programmed systems [[ EXCLUSIVE TO OEA ]]
This blog is anti endogenic, pro endos are not welcome here either. This is a blog about CDDs, ntg experiences are not relevant here. Polyminds & supporters are also not welcome. Please research how the brain actually works.
RAMCOA / OEA deniers DNI.
You may send in vents, questions, culture is posts, or really anything related to the cdid /hc+ec experience.
Op is 17, MDNI blogs keep this in mind. Call me Enigma. Op is a complex, polyfrag, programmed system (our preferred terms).
I’m not sure if anyone else’s internal communication works like this but for us, we don’t typically hear internal voices unless we are extremely dissociated.
Communication with other alters is more like a telepathy thing for us. Like for example, our therapist gave me and a younger alter an assignment to try to do together to help work on being more open to getting to know our parts and building that internal relationship. While I was working on the assignment, our younger alter would kinda “send me” her ideas. I wouldn’t hear her talking inside but more of feel pulled to write down a specific thing that was clearly childish, or write down information I didn’t know about, or feeling this distant but child like excitement when we scrolled by an image of stickers on our phone haha. I knew these things were coming from our child alter, even though she never “spoke.”
This is how majority of our alters communicate and for a long time it’s been the cause of some deep denial because we didn’t often “hear” our alters voices inside. It’s more like them “sending” us their ideas, thoughts, urges, desires, opinions, etc.
After posting this I saw previous posts from our other alter’s writing about hearing the thoughts of other parts. Maybe I just experience our internal communication differently?
POV: You're a system.
Being a caregiver, I realized that one of the best ways to help somebody without freaking them out even more is by rephrasing your questions and offerings in a way that would give them the choice to choose. It should he obvious that when you ask, for example, "Can I give you a hug?" you are offering a choice, but that's not the case for people who are freaking out or blacking out. It's way better to ask, "Would you like me to give you a hug?" or "Do you want a hug?" instead.
Same with:
⛔️ Can I hold your hand? | ✅️ Do you want to hold my hand?/Do you want me to hold your hand?
⛔️ How can I help? | ✅️ What would you like me to do to help?
⛔️ Can I do X? | ✅️ Do you want me to do X?/Would you be okay if I did X?
⛔️ Can I see? | ✅️ Am I allowed to see?
The more you state it in the sentence that it's in the person's abilities to turn you down, the better. First sentence matters. People who are actively freaking out or blacked out would not care for a long and complicated explanation as to why you said what you said. They most likely can barely hear anything at the moment. And can barely understand anything that's happening around them.
