The paradox of tolerance is only a paradox if you think of tolerance as some sacred and unconditional moral duty. Jest's death was such a non-moment it's taken me back. Like the death itself felt so quiet, it felt almost calm before Cath ran over to him. From the moment she killed the Jabberwock to Peter Peter running away it felt like tinnitus, that ringing in your ear, losing your hearing for a moment before everything rushes back and then Jest is just dead
