People in the Omegaverse are probably writing Betaverse fanfiction where there is no A/B/O dynamics and everyone just falls in love with eachother's personality instead of pheromones and hormones controlling their desires.
"these researchers published a paper on something that literally any of us could have told you 🙄" ok well my supervisors wont let me write something in my thesis unless I can back it up with a citation so maybe it's a good thing that they're amplifying your voice to the scientific community in a way that prevents people from writing off your experiences as annecdotal evidence
they did the research in the first place because they believed you and wanted to tell people about it. they are not our enemies.
people always go "Instead of spending all that time on a study they could have just listened to us when we said these thing happen"
they did listen, that's how studies work, they asked people about their experiences and put all the data together in a nice package that can be cited
Super big fan of people not dying after being redeemed
Not just in a “live in the world your actions created” way but also in a “you deserve the love that would have prevented you from becoming like this” way but also in an “I hate death as punishment for trying to be better” way
drives me nuts when ppl act like its somehow feminist to be a huge asshole to people because 'men are allowed to behave that way,' or whatever. ok. well i dont think men should be treating people like that either. and if they talk to me like you are talking to me, i will judge and avoid them as well.
"society gives men a pass for behaving in hurtful and selfish ways without consideration for the impact it has on the people around them, particularly those with less power" yeah
"so I'm going to deliberately emulate this behavior, and it will be feminist of me to do so" incorrect
For the record “low-information voter” is like, a real thing and I hate that it’s become a leftist insult meaning “black person I disagree with”. I would argue that a black person deciding not to vote for white populists is actually pretty high information, given an observation of patterns!
Also conversations about Democrats needing to appeal to more rural voters are always like “what if you betrayed all the minorities that rely on you” and not “what if there was actual media infrastructure outside of big cities that wasn’t just run by the notoriously Republican Sinclair Broadcasting Company”
One of my all-time favorites
affirmations for my printer:
you are not out of paper
you have so much paper
it’s okay to function as intended
you are not out of ink
i just refilled that cartridge last month
you can connect to that computer you’re supposed to connect to
you’re allowed to print things
"Wow, you're really good at this, you should do this professionally" okay but have you considered that I don't want to because that would suck all the fun out of this thing that I do for fun and entertainment and it's actually a conscious choice to not do this professionally because that would destroy the very reason I do this to begin with
"You should monetize this hobby" You should go outside and leave me alone
I THOROUGHLY enjoy acting in community theatre. But now my husband and I are undergoing IVF and we agreed that we should minimize stress where possible to improve our chances, so I'm taking a break from acting for the time being (it's tons of fun, but it *is* still stressful). If I were a professional, I couldn't do that, because then I'd have no income. I really think I'm better off working a day job and acting on my own terms.
I ended up having a really interesting conversation with some people at the bus stop today. They were getting out of some sort of ‘clean and sober’ meeting and had starting saying how they were so bored because they didn’t have anything to do, and had to stay at home because all their old friends would pull them back. So I said something like, ‘So this is the time to do all the stuff your parents told you they didn’t have money/time for!’ “Whatcha mean?” “You know, like when you were five and you REALLY wanted to have that toy or do that thing and you were like, ‘Please mom please I gotta have this I gotta go do this’ and they went ‘Hell no you think I’m paying for that do you want to goddamn EAT?’ “ And this light went on in their eyes. The lady is going to go check thrift stores for an Easybake Oven and I told her about Wilton cake decorating classes. The dude is going to Griffith Park and ride horses, because, ‘I always wanted to be a cowboy, and you can’t drink when you’re on a horse ‘cause you’ll fucking die!’ Fuck it. This is what being an adult is. Sure it’s bills and work and relationships, but damn it, it’s also time to do the things you LIKE. I signed up for a free class/lecture on Water Gardens. I’m going. It’s time.
Jill. Jill you are wonderful.
no joke, this is such an important aspect of overcoming trauma. I mean the trauma of abusive parents, the trauma of broke ass parents who got toxic because of it, the trauma of capitalism. Like fuck it. Go to Wrestlemania. Build a shit ton of terrariums.

Yeah, when I was a kid my dad explained X-rays as being like eating candy--one or two or three pieces are perfectly fine, but eating a whole bag of it will give you a tummyache.
if your main position is "i don't know how you people can support harm reduction. as for me, i'm for harm abolition. no i don't have a plan. no actually i mostly just bitch at people advocating for harm reduction as a way of making myself look pure" your opinions on political strategy are irrelevant and you yourself are beneath contempt you need to examine your beliefs, your need to feel righteous, your actual impact on the world, and how you can go about making an impact that aligns with your beliefs.
If you really believe harm is bad, and eliminating harm is a worthy goal, you have to start with small steps: eliminate a small harm, not all harms all at once. Reduce a great harm a little, perhaps by helping one individual impacted by that harm, and then another individual, and another... You cannot tackle all harm at once; you must take smaller bites. Set this reality against your need to feel right & correct & pure & perfect. Reducing some harm instead of all harm is not failure! You are not a failure! You may fail now and again, but failing once or twice or ten thousand times doesn't change the fact that you can still try again and succeed! You are not a failure even when you fail to reach your impossible goal of perfection.
You may not be able to complete the work of eliminating harm. But you can do your part to work toward that goal, reducing harm where you can. Your work layered with all the work of everyone who came before you, everyone who works beside you, and everyone who picks up the work when you set it down--all this work layered into making things besmal--that's a goal both possible and worth fighting for.
a lot of people dont care about insect biomass collapse bc when they hear we are losing 2.5% of the insect biomass per year they just imagine the cockroach and housefly population decreasing by that much. they dont realize those are among the only ones that will remain unbothered
you can make a little oasis right where you are, and it matters
every year of restoring native plants I see a great increase in the insect populations, and loads of new insects i never saw before (all of them harmless--the insects that are harmful or parasitic on humans are the main ones being unaffected by the decrease in insect populations)
(a large part of) the problem is Plant Sameness. we must restore plant diversity
2.5% *annually*?!? I didn't know it was that bad! That's terrifying! That's butterflies and ladybugs and bumblebees and fireflies! I want there to be bugs left for my kids to find in the garden or at the park. This is... pretty sad.
the thing about sam winchester is if you gave him a death note he would do the exact same thing as light im not even joking. like he'd probably try a little harder to keep up the pretense of 'this is for the greater good' or whatever but come on. he'd start killing people immediately. anyway i think crowley should give him a death note for his birthday i just wanna see what happens
yk how ryuk doesn't even have to do anything, light is just Like That??? same deal. except sam would take the shinigami eyes deal too tbh
#crowley would be the FIRST on sam’s list (via @biblically-accurate-trans-girl)
crowley would be the first on the list AND he'd be surprised and incredibly offended about it. im convinced that he'd delude himself into thinking that sam would never put him on there. he'd be like alright moose you can kill anyone in the world, all that power right there at your fingertips, who are you ki- YOU DIDN'T EVEN SPELL FERGUS CORRECTLY
Not to oversimplify a complex issue, but i think we could reduce the number of deadly car crashes by increasing wages and having shorter work weeks.
It's kinda crazy that Nixon resigned over Watergate because in this current news cycle, it would be a big deal for like a week then everyone would collectively forget about it like the Venezuela or Minnesota thing
a ton of people have unexpectedly followed me over the last 2 days so here is my rent-lowering gunshot:
the american south is the most racially diverse and poorest region of the united states, and any political sentiment that treats the south is stupid or expendable is inherently racist and classist. a lot of y'all are racist and classist. the south is also the heart of american culture. argue with a wall. you cannot deny that everybody in the entire world does not emulate artists from atlanta. there is vested interest in keeping the south poor and uneducated BECAUSE this is the most racially diverse region in this country. if you actually give a fuck about progress, you would fight for the south, not mock us.
