“It hurt to scrub my online presence free of his face. I was proud that he was mine. I wanted people to know. It’s sad when I see my page without his face.
I miss who I was when I was with him. I’m not that girl anymore. It’s like I’m mourning our relationship, who he was and who I was all at once.
I hate that I can remember all his details. His warmth, the shape of his face, the feeling of his hair, his laugh, his scent, the face he made when he was thinking too hard. Everything about him I remember as clear as day.
I wish I never tried to be friends. I wish I ended it and that was that. I wish I never knew he was seeing someone else.
I just wish he was hurting the same way I am. I hope he’s just burying it deep down and someday it will all come flooding back to him and he’ll break.
I hope that at least it hurts him that he didn’t get to keep me. At all.
