It would be important to understand that Jedi teachings in George Lucas' canon are not propositions to be believed in, to remember them intellectually - they're truths to be realized and be acted upon. Just like Yoda said, they must have the most serious mind: they must train their minds so that when fear, anger, hate and aggression and attachment arise, they can see them for what they are and how they would lead to suffering. They must have to develop a mind that, whenever they see injustice, would not give rise to anger or hatred, directed at the perpetrator, but to the aspiration to help those who suffer, to protect them from further harm, grounded in compassion.
The best part is that each of those figures is Obi-Wan. Sometimes silmulantiously.
Bail Organa: "I must play the long game, the quiet game, subtly undermining the Empire from within using mostly legal channels."
Also Bail Organa: "I was Yoda's getaway driver after he tried to murder the Emperor."
the novelty of having pets really does never wear off iâve had my cat for ten years and i still look at him strolling around like can you believe this. a cat. is everyone seeing this. heâs alive he has bones and all. unbelievable
obi-wan canonically exuding such a sad aura at all times that people canât stop offering him drugs to cope is probably the best creative decision the people at lucasfilm could have made
Au where everything is the same except that Alpha-17 was in Umbara and punched Krell
Alpha-17 to a group of Shinies: Today weâre gonna learn about something called âfriendly fireâ and âplausible deniabilityâ
@lilaccloudd amazing
Random Trooper: Sir, you can't just strangle a General!
Alpha-17: Not to worry, I have a permit
Trooper: This just says "Alpha can do what he wants"
Trooper: oh, it's signed by High General Kenobi! All good then :)
*Strangling noises intensify*
Why is obi-wans padawan lore so insane. Qui-Gonna didn't want him as his padawan so he got kicked out of the jedi where he was sold into slavery and tried to commit suicide to save a bunch of people which made qui-gon rethink his decision. Then they went to a planet where a war between children and adults was being fought and qui-gon LEFT HIM THERE to become a child soldier. THEN obi-wan (still a child) had a prophecy bestowed upon him saying that the only thing he was destined for was "infinite sadness." What. Mustafar was just another Tuesday for this bitch
Jedi are summarily banned from any commercial rock-climbing gym on Coruscant
within a week of the start of the war, the clones are added to this ban
obi wan does NOT know how to sit in a chair normally
the council has concluded it is a scientific impossibility
When you're unable to solve an IT problem at work, there really is nothing quite like having it escalated all the way up the ladder. With every step, there is a degree of smugness about how real my problem is, and that yes, I was right to have trouble with this.
You can get a minor version of this if one IT person solves it but they spend a bunch of time repeating things youâve already tried and when they eventually solve it itâs by doing something you wanted to try but didnât have the requisite permissions to do
Was in a situation where neither I, nor my boss knew what was causing the problem, so we ended up calling one of the head engineers, and ive never experienced anything quite as validating as the moment where said head engineer, after spending several minutes just staring at the problem, quietly said "what the fuck"
My finest moment of technical triumph was sending an error ticket to a vendor, then quietly troubleshooting it on my end, and then sending them what I thought the solution was likely to be. They disagreed. SIX MONTHS LATER, they came back with the fix and it was exactly what I said it would be originally. I have never and likely will never capture that high again but by god was it sweet.
phrases of international online friends
"what do YOU guys call it"
"isn't it [insert time here] over there????"
"GO THE FUCK TO BED"
"good morning" (it's 6pm in your timezone)
"do you have/say [thing] over there"
"how's the weather over there?" (probably better than yours)
obi-wan kenobi only looks like a respectable, even-tempered rule-follower because he's standing next to Anakin "what are rules" Skywalker and Ahsoka "i know the rules but i don't give a shit" Tano. the moment he's alone, and not being forced to keep anyone in check, he is JUST as chaotic as the other two, if not more because he DOES know the rules and he DOES give a fuck so the fact that he's breaking them means he REALLY wants to ruin someone's day
Obi-Wan is a âletter of the lawâ more than a âspirit of the lawâ kind of guy. He knows the rules. Word for word in fact. But he also knows ALL the loopholes, and by the Force, heâs going to use them.
The thing is... who is who? Uh... let's just say that depens the mission đ¤
The urban fantasy show I actually want to see is a hospital drama with a dedicated wing for supernatural illnesses.
Vampirism. Lycanthropy. Cheap spells gone wrong. A woman brought in for her prenatal has to be told her baby is a lindworm. Someone is literally being followed by the anthropomorphic personification of the Black Death.
Someone somewhere out there is having their perception of the world irreparably shattered by the knowledge that magic is real, and at the other side is a team of doctors who have to roll their eyes and pull out Grimmâs Complete Fairy Tales because some high school kid tried to go Carrie with a cheap spellbook and turn all the kids at prom into frogs, and the doctors have to wrangle a couple dozen teenagers into admitting if they have a true love who can break the spell.
I want the hospital director to be some dark entity that feeds on human misery but figured out that if you successfully treat the source of the misery then instead of hunting you down as an abomination the humans start bringing more miserable people to your house en masse and things kinda got out of hand from there.
Grimm's Anatomy
Someone: Kenobi was rigid and inflexible.
Obi-Wan Kenobi didn't fake his death, went undercover in a prison, stabbed a guys hand and threatened to eat him, made a prison break, fit right into with a group of bounty hunters, gained Cad freaking Bane's respect, survived thanks to his highly impressive sniper and fighting skills out of a hunger games type of contest, beat the shit out of Anakin unarmed, sabotaged the same bounty hunters all in a insane attempt to save the Chancellor's life for you to say he is inflexible.
The versatility of the man.
The Negotiator has chopped of more limbs than anyone in the saga.
You know technology literacy is dying because I saw this meme with 76k likes
F11 the full screen button? Youâre scared of the full screen button? F10?? It opens the menu bar???
Computers are so scary what if I accidentally hit F12 in a steam game and it takes a screenshot. What if I press shift + F12 while in word and accidentally save my document đ
If you had to learn what the F keys on your computer do through me reblogging this post, then I'm glad you did. Computer literacy is not a skill that gets taught anymore, and it is absolutely one that needs to be taught in order to be learned. Don't ever feel bad for not knowing something, but âď¸ don't ever stop learning learning about your environment, the tools you use, and especially the people around you
Never stop learning+ Never stop sharing what you learned
