Coyotes trying their damndest to get domesticated
From the Nashville Zoo’s fb page! Here’s the petition, please please please take a moment to add your name (even if you’re not from Nashville!). If you are from Tennessee, contact your representatives and make it clear that the people do not want this data center. This is an AZA accredited zoo which is home to several species of critically endangered animals, we NEED to protect it. Make your voice heard!
Because people will pay attention to cute animals, here are some of the critically endangered/endangered species housed at the Nashville Zoo!
The Amur Leopard and Clouded Leopard (which recently celebrated its 50th cub born at the zoo!)
The Sumatran Tiger
The Red Ruffed Lemur and Ring-Tailed Lemur
The Cotton-Top Tamarin and White-Cheeked Gibbon
The Colobus Monkey and De Brazza’s Monkey
And the Mexican Spider Monkey!
Look at them!!!! Look at them and fight like hell to save them!!!!
Adding my own images of Nashville Zoo to this. It’s super important to stand, fight, and continue to spread awareness on this.
There’s so many other great animals at this zoo, and it's done so much in teaching people about animals and conservation.
Yeah sorry wasp haters but y’all don’t know shit. Have you ever even seen the cuteness of Bembicini?
What's little buddy doing?
It’s probably a female digging a burrow for her eggs :)
have you guys heard about the greenland shark. some crazy shit happening there.
they are sexually mature at ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY YEARS OLD.
their (live!) young gestate for. wait for it. eight to eighteen (??) YEARS. can have up to 10 at a time. good grief.
longest lifespan of any vertebrate, up to five hundred years
toxic flesh
has giant eyes but is usually blind because of a weird little crustacean that's evolved to live on and eat their eyes. this doesn't seem to bother them much.
lives in deep cold water and has the lowest swim speed and tail-beat frequency for its size across all fish species. just generally lives life in extreme slow motion
largest genome of any shark
eats everything including moose and polar bears
ma'am you are delightfully strange and I'm privileged to share a planet with you
this post prompted me to refresh my memory on Greenland Shark Facts and this detail about how they feed goes so hard
just vacuuming up their unsuspecting prey. whole !
Good news good news good news! Recent research suggests the eye parasites do NOT blind them!

I <3 you a normal amount Greenland sharks

Hello its me, weird dog not bear, please let in?
He was, in fact, very close to letting himself in whether I wanted him there or not.
We really gotta get a doorknob that is not a lever…
Were you putting distance there to make him lose interest or to have an escape route?
Actually, the door photo came first. I got closer after that. 😂
I went down and locked the door, then took the video.
I’m well aware of the threat bears pose, don’t worry. But I grew up out here so I’m very familiar with how to deal with them. I had a compound bow with me, a rifle down on the table, plenty of stuff to throw, lots of stuff to make noise, and a kitchen full of knives. If he had gotten inside it wouldn’t have been a big deal.
Of all the people I know, you are the person I think would be most capable of beating the shit out of a bear with a random object.
You are also the person I know who is the Most Likely To Need To Beat The Shit Out Of A Bear With A Random Object, so it's probably good that you're so capable.
Don’t mind me just thinking about the hole in the middle of the United States where Chipping sparrows refuse to fuck

The long-tailed slug, or ninja slug (Ibycus rachelae), is a type of semi-slug, being somewhat intermediate in appearance between a snail and a slug. Semi-slugs have a partially visible shell, but the shell is too small for the body to be withdrawn into. Found only in the state of Sabah in Borneo, the long-tailed slug was first described as a new species in 2008.(x x x)

the world is in peril, and people are hurting
but even so, we can take comfort in knowing we have creature of wet slop. grins.
It’s name is Aplysia vaccaria, the black sea hare!
It eats algae and lives in intertidal and sub-tidal zones on the coast of Mexico and California. You can find it in tide pools there!
Quality wet slop animal c:
I would like to add that the colloquial name for this guy is the 'Black Sea Hare' because his antennae resemble rabbit ears!
