I feel like a lot of people’s expectations for what happens in the Vampire Lestat series are wrong. The wait for something from the book to happen or “it’s set in the wrong year” or “they cut this scene” or “this character is ooc” are exceptionally funny to me sorry.

Because, right, if we didn’t have two season before tvl I’d be on their side. After all, the show promotes itself as “Anne Rice’s the vampire Lestat”, you’d expect for it to be an adaptation.

HOWEVER, we had two season of “Anne Rice’s interview with the vampire” BEING NOTHING like the books. The series, in my opinion, is wonderful as a stand-alone, but it’s an awful adaptation. The character are mostly ooc, the relationships are all wrong, the nuance is mostly gone, some of the themes are ignored, there’s some weirdly misogynistic writing choices that I can close my eyes on because it’s not that bad.

It kills me people all of a sudden have problems with this season being different from the books when it’s always been a “problem”?

Joe thought nicky looked sad (actually that’s just his face) so he came to a conclusion that nicky had a lonely christmas so joe was like “well... why not make my husband happy?” and bought two jumpers (they actually look nice thank god) and santa hats from a thrift store. He had to coax nicky at first, because nicky is boring and had the audacity to frantically point at joes new haul and say “t-t-those are pagan!!” and joe was like “but it’s fun!! I love fun!!” Nicky sulked at first but who is he to refuse joe and make him sad? Besides, he has joe and joe has nicky, forever. They’re both happy. The end.
