Stolas hate genuinely concerns me because this pattern of dehumanising him solely because he was wealthy and had privilege? talking like he’s legally not allowed to unlearn that privilege and learn to do better, like he deserves only to suffer and/or die?

(also seeing the same arguments against Lucifer when it comes to radioapple, with the addition of ‘Lucifer’s white so there’s racist implications)

the fact too it feels like that rhetoric almost extends to Viv as well IRL from these haters, the narrative that she’s as bad as Elon Musk because she vacations a lot and can afford taxidermies.

I also find it really concerning because it’s evangelical Christian punishment culture wrapped up in progressive language. Actual leftists believe that people from privileged backgrounds can realize their place in the hierarchy of oppression and change for the greater good because, you know, humans aren’t inherently evil and only end up that way through the oppressive systems in place in society.

Evangelical Christianity believes that all humans are born bad. We all have sin that we can literally never get rid of and our only hope is to constantly pray to a supposedly all powerful god and hope he takes enough mercy on us to not send us to burn in hell for eternity.

Many people who claim to be progressive have Christian viewpoints they refuse to scrutinize, one of which being that once you’re born with sin you can’t get rid of it. That’s why they see Stolas as ontologically evil. Yeah, he’s a rich man in a position of power. Even if he took no actions that were directly oppressive against another he would still be passively benefiting from the suffering of those below him. The moral thing for him to do under a leftist framework would be to abandon his position in the hierarchy and work to uplift those who gain no benefit from it.

But under a Christian framework? The only moral path is suffering. He was born with sin, he will remain with sin no matter what he does, so he deserves eternal punishment. And a lot of Stolas antis want him to be punished or killed for that exact reason, because they believe there is no redemption for those born in the group they consider their enemy.

I agree with evrything but I also want to add something else. Solas haters want him to suffe not to build character and realse his mistakes but because they have decided that only suffering is what he desrves and that his sins are unforgivable.

unlike other christian faiths Evagalicals don't belive that their actions, good or bad, wiil afect their chances in the after life but their belif will. so they can not see that Stola's is trying to them if they, as the stand in for god, have condenmed him it means he will never be forgiven no matter what he does. its a very narrow mindset and very harmful.

its laughable. the new season is so good but you can see how much the writting quiality dropped just to bash Chloe. she desrves better than this.

Hot take (though it really shouldn't be a hot take): Regardless of how you feel about Vivziepop and her work, the fact that it's become so normalized to demonize her, spread misinformation about her, and openly express wanting to hurt her is genuinely appalling. It's especially popular on Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube

Obviously, I'm not saying that there isn't valid criticism towards Viv and her work. But so often I see people resort to just insulting her appearance, making up false accusations of her character, or bringing up past stuff that she's since apologize for

It's why I can't stand people like Blackishh, who poisoned any meaningful discussion to be had about the show because of how often he would shit on her for no reason, on top of just being an incredibly nasty person with most of his criticisms being used to spew out bigotry. He even went as far as to encourage his fans to draw hateful caricatures of her and even in one video threatened to assault her. I don't need to explain why that's an incredibly fucked thing to do and say about someone just because they made a show you didn't like. The fact that there's even an anti-Vivziepop tag really says it all

It's fine not to like the Hellaverse; I myself think that Hazbin is just overall okay, and I just wasn't a big fan of Helluva Boss's second season. I think there are things to criticize about both shows, and there's definitely room for improvement. And yes, this is far from the first or last example of this type of parasocial behavior, just look at what has happened recently with Gooseworks and Dana Tarrace. But the fact that it's gotten to the point where people are actively wishing to harm creators and fans of their shows, especially female and or Queer creators is disgusting and dangerous

I read a lot of regency romances and I have to say the fans are homphobic as hell. like if a gay character is not demonized or threated with digust by thee chracters is threated as anachronistic and they comaplain, true story see the reviews for a lady's guide to scandal for proof, Franchecal and Micahela are cannon they can't ingore it they can't change it. so they will attack and ahve gone full mask off.

if you love regency romance and are not homphobic see the new season speak up show them that they are not the majority they think they are.

What I love and hate the most about John, Francesca, and Michaela is that the writers made absolutely sure we understand that John is a good man. They don’t let us hate him. And honestly, anyone who hates him or is happy he’s dead is being an asshole.

I mean, I love Franchaela and I can’t wait to see their story unfold, but John was such a good man. The way he was loving, patient, fun, and genuinely good toward Francesca, and protective toward Michaela, makes it impossible to hate him. Impossible to be happy he’s dead. Even if his death opens a new chapter, it can only break your heart.

It’s also clear that John knew Michaela was gay. When he said she didn’t need suitors, that she’d be a spinster for life, etc., he wasn’t clueless, he was protecting her. He didn’t try to force her into a marriage, not even a lavender one. That might seem normal to us, but for a man in his position at that time, accepting that his cousin was a lesbian and shielding her was enormous.

He also just wanted his wife and his cousin to be friends because they were the two people he loved most in the world. And he wasn’t afraid that Michaela would “corrupt” or steal his wife.

All of this would be so much easier if John were a bad man or a terrible husband. But no, the writers intentionally made him a good man, a good husband, so that we would cry and mourn with Francesca and Michaela, and understand why they feel so guilty moving on together.
