Violent non-indigenous fishermen are threatening indigenous Mi’kmaw fishermen

Massive fire destroys lobster pound in southern Nova Scotia

Yarmouth County RCMP said in a statement Saturday morning that the fire is considered "suspicious" and an investigation is ongoing.

An enormous fire completely destroyed a lobster pound being used by Mi’kmaw fishermen in Middle West Pubnico, N.S., early Saturday morning.

The lobster pound is the same one that was swarmed, vandalized and ransacked by a large crowd of non-Indigenous commercial fishers and their supporters Tuesday night.

Mi’kmaw fisherman Jason Marr told Global News he and others were forced to take cover inside the lobster pound as the building’s windows were smashed out and Marr’s vehicle was damaged, he said.

“They vandalized (my van) and they were peeing on it, pouring things into the fuel tank, cutting electrical wires,” Marr said on Wednesday.

Commercial fishermen – who say they fear overfishing of lobster – have been accused of vandalism and harassment

Sack also takes issue with the idea that Indigenous fishermen will over-harvest, pointing out that the Sipekne’katik have their own compliance officers to ensure rules are followed.

“Conservation is one of our biggest worries,” he says, adding that commercial fishermen harvest a far larger share of lobster in the region. “If the commercial groups are so concerned about conservation, maybe they should limit the number of traps they’re setting.”"

Situation is currently ongoing as of October 17, 2020. Don't let the world turn a blind eye as indigenous rights are destroyed and treaties ignored again.

so here is what NOT to do if you’re a loyal fan of adobe who has the cash to shell out for a newer and shittier version of the product you already paid for.

1) DON’T use your search bar to find and open the Run app

2) DON’T type in services.msc

3) DON’T find Adobe Genuine Software Integrity Services and right-click to get a dropdown menu, and don’t select ‘properties’

4) if you happen to click properties, DON’T use the startup type dropdown to locate the option to disable the program. be sure you DON’T click apply to finalize that change. 

5) DO NOT do the same thing in order to also disable Adobe Genuine Software Monitor 

if you do all of these things, this WILL disable adobe’s ability to monitor the software, and you will be forced to continue using the same older software that you already paid for instead of having to sign up for a newer, shittier version and pay more for it. so if you have lots of cash to spare and are cool with putting it the pockets of racketeering capitalists, definitely don’t do any of these things. 

however, you SHOULD reblog this to spread the word, as we certainly want to make sure lots of people know what NOT to do :)

Just Ace Things

Asexuality gets so little representation in media, and much of what is depicted shows ace folks who are repulsed/averse to sex, those who don’t want to have it.  While those folks certainly make up a segment of the ace spectrum, for that to be the only way ace people are depicted falls flat of demonstrating the complexity and heterogeneity of the community.  Asexuality is defined as experiencing sexual attraction never, very rarely, or only under certain conditions, and the way it is expressed is different in every person.  Because it was on my mind, I thought I might make a working list of thing that ace people can think, do, and be that would add to a more dynamic and three-dimensional representation.   Other Ace Folks, please feel free to add on!

Having a dirty mind/sense of humor and being the first person to take a conversation to the gutter

Scientific curiosity about sex and sexuality (i.e. watching p*rn for research, listening to allo people describe their experiences, reading erotica, etc.)

Getting physically aroused, but not wanting to have sex, and being annoyed and grumpy because of it.

Being in a relationship with an allo person and having sex with them as an act of service and expression of love

Enjoying sex as an activity, you know… like playing tennis or watching a movie

Referring to having sex as “playing tennis”

Forgetting that sex is a thing for months at a time

Being the CHILLEST partner if someone’s nervous about their performance. (”No srsly, I don’t care. This was for you anyway.”)

Recognizing you love someone because “playing tennis” doesn’t sound so bad with them
