This is my first time blogging. In my blog I want to talk about food and travel. Not just any food-but healthy food. Because in a world full of McDonald’s and Pizza Hut how can anyone stay healthy while on the road or abroad?
Here is a bit of background on me.
I was living in northern Alberta, right on the border of the Northwest Territories. That was one of the coolest adventures of my life. I experience a lot of things I would have never done had I not moved out there from Southern Ontario.
Although very isolated you learn how to keep yourself busy by making friends, thinking of new activities and going on adventures to places I never thought I would go to-including Yellowknife!
While I was there I was able to become extremely motivated to lose weight. I was going to Hawaii and wanted to wear a bikini, naturally. I started January 1st. The worst time to start any diet because usually New Years Resolutions fade pretty quickly. I kept on my routine and by the time Hawaii came in February I had lost 15 pounds! I was very excited. Upon return from Hawaii, I didn’t gain any weight, but kept losing! I ended up losing a total of 22 pounds to bring me to 200 pounds.
I ended up getting a puppy around May that year and I got out of my routine.
I still maintained my weight for the rest of that year.
I moved home to Ontario in November of that year and was finding it hard to find a job--a good job similar to what I was working already. Impossible to say the least.
In no time I have gained back all of those pesky 22 pounds and then some.
I have decided that I am going to try this weight loss again and see how it goes.
As I lose weight through the summer I wanted to keep up how I stay healthy through the summer and while travelling because that can be one of the most difficult things to accomplish. I will also talk about where some awesome places are to go and some restaurants to try.
