Krusta Kalns, Lithuania, 2021 Hill of prayers since XIVth century and the christianisation of the territory, Krusta Kalns remained full of it’s baroque soul through all occupations. Sovietic power didn’t succeed in getting rid of them, and officially abandonned in 86.

This is a trailer of my short experimental documentary EL ORO DE CAJAMARCA. It depicts the fight led by inhabitants and farmers of Cajamarca, in the Andean region of Tolima, Colombia, against one of the country’s biggest open-sky goldmine projects called “La Colosa”. This is a telecinema extract of the 16mm film print.

Ninas sin miedo is an organization that helps kids from Soacha, in the Bogota suburbs, to autonomize in a man-friendly environment. They give them bikes and teach them things to make them stronger.

Wayu people, La Guajira, Colombia, march 2018. This desert at the far north of the country has a strong traditional heritage from the Wayu tribe. While it was almost possible to grow things around before, since the land has been exploited for it’s carbon resources a few decades ago, it is said that the the intensity of the drought has been increasing. The habitants main resources remains fishing, meanwhile tourism slowly reshapes the identity of the territory.

March 2018. Another part of my Colombian large format photography project. Those eucalyptus trees are typical of the country roads of Tolima, in the andine area, mid-west of the country. This landscape and area is threatened by a mining project that has a lot to do with a certain idea of how a country should develop itself. I thought I had to take some pictures.

NOOOOW! is a french nu-soul band that kicks bottoms. The artwork up there is an improvised composition of projected photographs, done with 7 tiny slide projectors. The pictures represent with saturated tints the energy and color of parisian parties.

Páramo de Anaime, 3600 meters up Colombia, april 2018. The Páramo is an andine tropical ecosystem stuck inbetween the treeline and the permanent snowline that can be seen in Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela. The million dots that we can see on the picture are all the same tree : a “freilejon”, that only grows up there. This fragile ecosystem is rich in ground resources, in water, and is incredibly fast-changing. At the exact location where I took this picture, were happening ground recoveries of a gold extracting company. The process of extraction, still in the balance, might happen some day, with the help of the government of Colombia, and eventhough this particular paramo has been sanctified as a natural reserve.
