big on losh incl l.e.g.i.o.n, titans, green lantern & superman [bronze age, johns era, up in the sky and y2k city of tmrw being my fave for clark <3 but i like triangle era too. huge sucker for nineties clois] but ill read just about anything dc and i like to make lists about it all the time :)

huge bias for post crisis status quo (minus old clark stuff & losh preboot) and i rarely read modern comics at all so dont worry about spoilers for rebirth or n52 stuff.

No-one cares but in my mind Mordu should be the descendant of Tim Hunter. I mean his whole deal was being the Merlin, the Magic incarnate chosen one and also possibly turning evil and causing destructive MAGICAL wars. And i know he ended the evil opener in him and finished any residue of an evil future but I would have it so he would erase himself & his position to live with Molly quietly or either CREATE Sorcerers World (as his position as the Opener was to create universes…..I’m sure he could conjure a planet, a different plane even.)

i think there’s something to be said/thought abt in carol being the breadwinner in hlcrl bc they’re both so deeply entrenched in gender roles they don’t really actually fit into that hal being broke as shit is actually a strain on their relationship. hal feels like he’s failed as a man bc his card declines trying to buy carol a caramel macchiato. carol feels nothing when she steps up to pay she WANTS to feel angry that he’s not “doing his duty” but doesn’t actually care about spending the money she probably gets a rush off it lmfaoo a sense of superiority that she’s a woman but she’s Doing The Man Thing she’s a better man that hal could ever be but she can’t get into that rn

for me the main difference between hal and carol with this stuff is that hal has this idea in his head of the family and future he thinks he should want but doesn’t realize that getting it won’t fulfill him while carol is like. extremely self-aware that she doesn’t want any of that at all and knows for a fact she won’t be satisfied if she gets it but she thinks she’ll just have to tolerate it. whether it’s with hal or someone else. and hal’s idea of what he thinks he wants involves him being “a good man,” (not necessarily morally but like. societally) so he has this feeling of “i’ve failed as a man” when he’s so broke he can’t buy his girlfriend a coffee, even though like. deep down his brain is wired for fuckin plane stunts and space adventures and blasting shit with his magic ring and he doesn’t think that other stuff should matter. and he’s annoyed at himself for thinking it matters, but has also accepted that it must matter, and is annoyed at himself for not adhering to what’s expected of him. like there are multiple contradictory levels of self-irritation going on here. while carol knows what being “a good woman” entails and rejects it, and her expectation of hal being “a good man” is mostly just like…a leftover of the societal/gender roles she’s being forced into, not stuff she actually cares about in any way. so like you said she thinks she SHOULD be angry that he’s so broke he can’t buy her a coffee, but she isn’t, even though she might act like she is because she thinks she’s supposed to and thinks that’s what hal expects of her. even though hal would be totally fine and in fact may actually be relieved if she ever made it clear that she doesn’t care that much about it

one of the most interesting parts of their relationship to me is that neither of them are normal people who would be happy with the American Nuclear Family Marriage and Kids that society expects them to have but instead of realizing that their more antagonistic but still reciprocal dynamic as green lantern and star sapphire (where the expectations are completely different and they don’t have to worry or care at all about weird earth societal rules like who can afford to pay for coffee) suits them both more they just aggressively playact being normal and make each other miserable LOL

I know this is an ✨unpopular opinion✨ but George Lucas was right when he originally created Ahsoka to make Anakin a more responsible character so that when she died in Order 66, the audience would feel the full and horrible weight of that betrayal and massacre personally. He was right. Ahsoka was meant to be a player and casualty in Anakin's tragedy, same as every other Jedi in the prequels. She was never meant to stand beside a deep-fake rendering of Anakin's son. This is what happens when a character's sellability and popularity are prioritised over their narrative purpose. Ahsoka Tano as she exists in the Disney+ shows is no longer a character, let alone in character. She stopped being a character the moment Kathleen Kennedy and Dave Filoni decided she should live because people liked her. No, Disney+ Ahsoka Tano is a walking talking nostalgia-bait toy with no purpose other than being an in-house advertisement, and giving *alleged* transphobe Rosario Dawson rent money. Shame on Disney for Everything™
