Say whatever you want of don Hermes, but the way he went to Ecomoda as soon as he found out about everything and defended Betty’s honor even though he KNOWS that Betty did some nearly-illegal stuff that goes against all of ethical values he felt so proud about, makes me love him so much. That right there is a father who loves his child unconditionally and above all else; a father who under no circumstances would ever give his back to her, no matter how sad, disappointed or betrayed he felt. He loves Betty, and he’s not willing to let her name be tarnished even though, as far as he knows, she might deserve it for the obvious mistakes she made.
But even then, he’s not willing to let her fall. He helps her out in everything. He acknowledges her mistake, corrects her for it, and guides her and helps her mend hers error. He never leaves her alone.
Now you compare that to Roberto’s “I don’t want you to speak to me ever again” when he found out about everything Armando did with Ecomoda and uff. We don’t know anything about Armando’s past, and we know very little of Betty’s, but the contrast between Roberto and don Hermes paints a clear picture: Betty grew up in an environment where she had unconditional love and support. Armando didn’t. Clues to this are scattered throughout the whole novela, but this particular situation (the reaction of the dads to finding out about yhe real situation of Ecomoda) made it even more clear…
so, to summarize: u say again that don Hermes is a terrible father and an awful human being, and Imma throw hands.
I remember in the episode when Armando was officially nominated as president of Ecomoda, Roberto didn't even remember what was his bachelor degree in. It's a powerful contrast to Don Hermes showing to his friend Betty's wall of academic achievements. Don Hermes is a ride or die.
"you only like her because shes a woman" yup "you let female characters get away with too much" yes "if a man did this you would hate him for it" indeed
I saw this post by @sirenja-and-stag and I remembered I had an old edit I could remake:D
(finished this just now and i'll eventually finish the scorpions edit too:3 )
The idea of two people having sex and it creating another, smaller person who has a combination of their traits sounds like it was made up for fan fiction but alas I've heard tale that it's really happened
hiya! I figured id make an informational post about the little things ive noticed about being on testosterone that I found weren’t talked about a lot when I was starting my transition and even before when I was doing my research. I think that trans sexual health is an extremely important part of trans peoples lives (and that doesnt necessarily mean sex) seeing as the physical changes that happen during transition are often foreign to us. Sexual health keeps us healthy and comfortable in our bodies, so do your best to stay attentive to your body’s changes! As always, consult your doctor if you feel the need to. These are only tips ive learned from transitioning myself and from my doctor when I asked about certain things.
PATREON
The human body's response to HRT is actually admirable in the sheer indifference. Just pure I Don't Give A Shit, I Just Fucking Work Here compliance to the new instructions. You can get testosterone injected straight into your body and it doesn't even question where that shit came from, coming back from a coffee break and just going
"Okay, everything seems to be in ord- oh fuck now what? Oh huh. Alright fine. New orders came in, cancel the menstrual cycle. Dig up the genetic balding patterns from somewhere, I don't fucking know they're buried somewhere in the dna. I'm greenlighting the growing-hair-on-your-toes thing. Yeah just cancel the ongoing maintenance processes, new orders came in so this is apparently what we're doing now."
Oh, and we need to build a penis. How? No fucking clue, use whatever we've got lying around. We're going to have to McGyver the fuck out of this dick.

if your neuro diversity activism doesn't include people with psychosis then it's worthless I'm not sorry to say
if your neuro diversity activism doesn't include people with NPD, ASPD, BPD, HPD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, delusions, drug use disorder, OCD and other stigmatized mental disorders (yes, even those ones), 👏🏼 it's worthless👏🏼
how it feels to be aware of your paranoias btw
as my final act of love, I will swallow every "please stay" and turn it into silence so you don't feel trapped by my ache
am i even mentally ill or am i just living in some kind of infinite torture chamber that would make anyone like this
psychiatric meds are cool but a society that doesn’t drive its population into suicidal depression would be even cooler
At the end of the day, you can’t delay joy until life looks a certain way. You deserve to enjoy your life now.
the worst part of summer is that people get sooo comfortable expressing their disgust at having to see other people’s bodies. they’re always complaining about wrinkly old men at the nude hot springs or fat women in bikinis at the beach. I hate that shit. if you’re not capable of being normal about bodies you personally don’t find attractive, just turn your head to look at something else! and if you’re not smart enough to do that, then at least do the rest of us the courtesy of suffering in silence, because we don’t wanna hear your weird comments. thanks.
They should make it easier for trans women
We’re more connected than ever, but for people with OCD, that connection can come at a steep cost. The internet has evolved into a space tha
Even if you don't have moral OCD I highly recommend giving this a read, especially if you participate in or frequent fandom spaces, it was seriously eye-opening for me.
Some of my favorite "Holy shit" parts:
The internet has evolved into a space that fuels compulsions, rewards black-and-white thinking, and reinforces a need for certainty and moral perfectionism, all things that OCD thrives on.
And-
You feel anxious → open a search tab. You have a thought you hate → post in a forum. You feel guilt → reread texts, check if someone’s mad. You fear being bad → confess online, ask for reassurance, scroll for proof you’re "okay."
We need to have and give more space for "moral shades of grey" and stop with black and white "pure good or irredeemably evil" thinking, especially with the media we consume and how we interact with that media and other people concerning that media.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go pirate the second season of Sandman.
