About This Blog

Welcome to the growing world of aros and aces in fiction! I wanted this to be a community of aros and aces (and people who fall anywhere on the spectrum) to come together and celebrate their favourite fictional idiots.

HOW THIS WORKS:

• Instead of dividing characters based on microlabels, every character who is canonically or headcanoned as anything aside from aro, ace or aroace will be labelled as aspec, arospec and/or acespec; I have chosen to use these larger umbrella terms as I feel that they allow more unity within the community, instead of the division that sometimes happens due to the vast array of individual identities that exist within the umbrella

• Posts with canonically confirmed characters will be tagged as canon (label). Posts which characters who are headcanoned, will be tagged as hc (label).

• You can submit posts! As the only moderator at the moment, I will be approving posts before they go up. My personal blog is @dollopheadsandclotpoles. Come to me if you have any issues.

• Everyone is welcome, but people making any aphobic comments, or anyone causing trouble in general, will be instantly blocked. Transphobia, racism, xenophobia, homophobia, biphobia, etc. are not going to fly here.

• The icon is of Todd Chavez from Bojack Horseman who is canonically ace but not aro. As the first character I ever saw in any piece of fiction ever to identify as ace, he is special to me and that is why he is the icon of this blog

Edit: I will also be posting about characters from media I have not watched/read personally, so if there’s any mistake when it comes to tagging any of the details, let me know and I’ll immediately correct it!

Happy pride! If you’re looking for aspec stories, I could recommend you my RPG Maker games.

-Friendship Test: A long story-focused game that explores different aspec identities (aromanticism, aplatonicism, lovelessness…). Lots of aspecs have seen themselves on this game, maybe you’re next. Jokes aside, it’s a passion project that means a lot to me and it’s completely free for you to enjoy!

-Exe tries to save the holidays: A short follow-up to Friendship Test! While the main focus is not on aspec themes, we do have an aspec protagonist whose identity is important for her character. The game only costs 1,30$!

-Estranged Family: A spin-off to Friendship Test which is currently on development, but there is a 2 hour long demo available! I continue to explore more aspec themes here, maybe you’ll like this one too!

-Obsolete Friends: A short semi-horror game, unrelated to the Friendship Test series. Aspec themes are not the main focus, but there are aspec characters that are important to the story. It’s my newest game and it costs 2$!

Hello, fellow fandom-obsessed creatives! Please join us for the 11th edition of #AggressivelyArospecWeek in what is officially our tenth year holding this event!

Every year, #AggressivelyArospecWeek (#AAW) is an occasion to promote the creation of arospec fancontent by arospec creators. For an entire week, people on the aromantic spectrum celebrate their experiences through fandom and art.

For this event, “fancontent” means any creation related to a fandom, whether it’s a headcanon, a piece of meta, fanfic, fanart, a playlist,… All fandoms are welcome!

The content created for this event should center a character’s arospec identity (this can be a canon identity or a headcanon).

We only accept entries from creators who identify as being on the aromantic spectrum or who are questioning whether they might be.

This event is an opportunity for creators to explore their identities through fanwork within a supportive community. It’s also a perfect way for fans of all kinds (arospec or not) to enjoy art and have fun!

Join us from June 21 to June 27 2026 for an explosion of arospec fancontent on your dash!

To submit content to the event, please make a new post between June 21 and June 27 and tag it as #AggressivelyArospecWeek. You can also submit your work directly to our blog through the ask and submission boxes. Your post will then be shared on the Aggressively Arospec blog.

A collection will also be opened on Archive of Our Own to round up all the fanfics posted on there. Just search for “Aggressively Arospec Week ‘26” in the “Post to collections” tab when you’re posting on AO3.
