I'm gonna leave these pics here after the 6th Episode š
As much as I mildly despair about the functionality of Tumblr, Iām forever grateful we donāt have the creative interface of other social media platforms.Ā
I keep seeing youtubers talking about how the new algorithm on their creative dash is so detrimental to their mental health, both in terms of how they feel about themselves as creators and the content they makeādreading to find out their performance rating, regardless of whether they enjoyed it or not. And itās the same across multiple other platforms, TickTock, Facebook, Instagram. Fuck, Iāve even seen people with business accounts complaining on Twitter.
And then thereās Tumblr. Where sometimes you canāt find your own posts even though you know you tagged it, time stamps are hidden in the ellipses at the top right hand corner of the post, your bread recipe keeps getting flagged as porn, too much punctuation causes asks not to send, and checking your activity feed causes the app to crash. You want to know your trending numbers? You want to know whatās performing well? Fuck you, guess.
Change your last name u ain't even gay
Iāll get right on that.
this is the funniest post on this site. everyone go home. nothing is ever going to be better than actual neil gaiman, on tumblr dot com, answering this ask.

Are you āenemies to loversā fucked up or āfound familyā fucked up?
is jake gyllenhaal gay??
why would you ask us, a narnia blog, this
happy pride month to this post specifically
Happy pride month to the tiny cowboy and tiny Trojan man from Night at the Museum
This hands down the best comment in the notes, I will not be taking criticism.
*Dr Doofenshmirtz voice* you see, Perry the Platypus, when I was a child, my mother was pushed off a cliff by a pack of dalmatians
I hope im not just a blog you follow but also the only person with 100% correct opinions about the little mermaid
Dish those opinions, let's hear it
My biggest issue is the absolute ice cold take of "Ariel gave up her life/voice for a boy" when the film repeatedly shows Ariel was preyed upon by Ursula. She was exploited and stalked by the literal antagonist of the film into making a really bad decision, especially when Ursula knew Ariel was at her most emotional and the least unable to reach out to her support network.
And the deal Ariel made was meant to be an impossible task that she was tricked into taking AND STILL Ariel was smart enough to almost achieve it if Ursula wasn't playing dirty and directly interfering in with it all.
Ariel was absolutely a victim of manipulation and circumstance, and people who use this as an irredeemable flaw in her character act like they got big brain energy when their brains are smooth as fuck.
(not to mention she was 16)
Also?
URSULA is the one who says Arielās doing it all for the guy.
According to Ariel herself, what she wants is:
āto be where the people are
āto see dancing and walking
āto ask her questions about the human world and get answers
āto not live in the ocean
āto be part of the human world
āto explore the human world
WHERE DOES ERIC COME INTO ANY OF THIS?!
She wants to see a world she isnāt able to see! She wants to have adventures, not a boyfriend! What the hell!
I would argue that she was totally fine with the boyfriend, but Ursula was the one who forced it to be a priority.
AND ANOTHER THING
Her first impression of him is a dude who is both attractive, capable, and willing to jump back on to a burning ship to save his dog.
Later, dude climbs aboard a SHIPWRECK that's caught in a WHIRLPOOL so that he can RAM IT into a 150-foot-tall MAGIC SEA MONSTER in order to save her.
It's not like girl was settling.
Ariel is a field anthropologist. That she happened to fall in love with a member of the culture she was studying isn't exactly a problem.
whats your type?
Fictional men written by women.

Israel bombs people in their homes. Media :Ā āself defenseā.
The journalist who recorded the video is Hind Hassan for Vice News. She has requested that the source is given when her footage is proliferated online. She is still on site covering the conflict and you can follow her for more information.

I thought this was my hometown for a second
So this has actually been cited by academics as part of the major draw to online spaces is the fact that just existing in public is reacted to with hostility and punishment. Gretchen McCulloch discussed this is in her book Because Internet, citing research that shows teens and young adults want to be outside! We want to spend time in social places, itās just that there arenāt any places to exist in public without being charged for it.
When I was homeless as a kid my little brother and I loved to go to the library. We would keep warm in there reading good books all day long. Until residents of the town complained about us āloiteringā at the library each day. The library staff then told us we were no longer allowed to stay more than an hour at a time. Imagine seeing two homeless children spending their entire days quietly reading just to keep out of the cold and having a damn problem with it.
I think people donāt like to be reminded that they see homeless children and do nothing to help. āKeep them out of sight so I donāt have to feel guilty for being a despicable human being.ā Maybe.
For the last time :)
It is not a neutral āconflictā. Palestinians donāt have:
an army
police officers littered around the streets fighting off attacking settlers
$3.8B funding from the US
bomb shelters
homes (hello theyāre being evicted and bombed?)
immediate access to medical care (settlers are blocking ambulances and throwing grenades)
citizen acknowledgement from the government that supposedly wants to help them
means of defending themselves
the right to properly mourn (a funeral was recently attacked by settlers)
justice
Anyone who chooses to claim neutrality is choosing to claim the side of genocide. Neutral = complicit. The number of Palestinian deaths remains staggering and I promise, the occupying stateās numbers are nothing compared to it. Thousands more deaths and fatalities have occurred to the Palestinian people. When the death toll defers by roughly 9,000, I think itās safe to say that the situation isnāt neutral.*
I repeat, if you are neutral, you side with genocide.

As a bonus:
name one native american intellectual off the top of your head, name one native american actor or actress off the top of your head, name one native american senator, one native american news anchor, or an author or a tv personality or a singer or a poet or a comedian, name a single native american teacher youāve had, can you? probably notĀ
ok so now think of one native american cartoon character you know of or a sports team relating to native americans whether itās their actual name or their team logo, or a town you live in or near with a ānativeā name bet a lot of these things came to you right away i bet you didnāt even have to thinkĀ
needing native representation in media, education and government are not decoy issues, the commercialization and appropriation of native cultures are not decoy issues, the lack of native representation is institutional oppression at workĀ
White people specifically need to reblog this, I donāt CARE if it makes you uncomfortableāthatās the point. Listen to Native voices about Native issues PLEASE
