Like father, like child (Part1)
Yandere Lex Luthor & Teen villain!reader
I'm gonna start by saying my knowledge on Lex is the superman movie (2025) and Smallvile so this might not be really that accurate to the character. Surprisingly (for me), most of the superman comics I've read were world's finest so… yeah, if anyone has recommendations they are welcome
Warnings: Gn reader (There's one part where the reader is referred to as henchman but if it isn't a neutral term, I'm using it as a neutral term); The usual Yandere stuff; Implied drinking problems but not worked upon that
Small villains in Metropolis weren't knew, every other week one appeared, every next week Superman took care of them. So Lex wasn't worried on keeping eyes on these villains, they wouldn't last so there is no interesting partnership he could do
That's until one of those villains' name popped on the news again and again for weeks. It picked Lex's curiosity, how could someone with no special power or strength, seriously, the villain looked like a teen, manage to escape Superman himself?
He started researching and fell into a deep rabbit hole.
Lex found their name, their age (he was right, not above 21), school, hobbies, and most important, parents. Or, more specifically, their mother as the father wasn't listed on the birth certificate but Lex recognized his own features on the teen's face. And to add to that, the woman that was their mother was one he had… a night with a few years ago and never spoke to again. She had tried to reach out, but he ignored it
He contacted the woman, she confirmed. But to make sure, he even did DNA tests and it was undeniable. That villain was his kid
The kid was a prodigy, apparently taking their intelligence from Lex, and had a great future ahead of themself. But they were also rebellious, drinking and partying all night, petty crimes, even an entry on a hospital in an alcoholic coma once.
Lex couldn't let his own blood waste their life like that. He wouldn't let all of that potential go straight to the trash because of some teenage rebelliousness
Anonymously, Lex told journalists and the authorities who that new villain was. And at the same time he swooped in saving his "poor misguided child" and promising to "rehabilitate" them. And of course he managed to put them under his wing with the right bribes
Lex knew his kid wouldn't like this change, he also wouldn't tell them about his true reasons and intentions for taking them under his wing.
And it's not like Reader makes his life any easier. Their rebel behavior gets even worst but any villain activities they try to participate again are immediately stopped way more easily by Superman or the authorities (even Lex himself sometimes) now that their name and face were out there.
Of course Lex hates the mere thought of that alien being anywhere near his child, who does he think he is?! Lex can take care of them just fine without the Super's scoldings
The first times it happened, Lex almost lost his shit when his kid was left by his building's door by Superman himself. For the next week his child was always by his side with his (kryptonite) ring on their finger as a punishment. Not a punishment for whatever villainous thing they had done but for letting themself be caught
After a few months of them being under his care, the little villain started to calm down and focus their attention more on school/college and their future
Lex: There's a gala coming up in Gotham. Do you think you could behave enough to go with me?
He asked out of nowhere. It wasn't common for Lex to want to put his kid on the public eye, specially out of Metropolis. But he didn't like these charity galas anyway, specially a Wayne one, so he might as well bring a chaos factor to it
When he and his kid stepped on the Gala all eyes were on the billionaire who took in his villainous child. Reporters and journalists immediately started following them, some from Gotham, others from Metropolis, Clark Kent and Lois Lane being one of them
Clark: Luthor, you brought your child. It's surprising considering it's the first time you brought them to a public event like this.
Lex: Oh well, I can't keep my kid cooped up forever. I've got to let them fly a little
Lois: And aren't you afraid they are going to cause mayhem?
Lex: Why would you even suggest that?
Lois: Because they ran off while you had your back turned
Clark: And is now headed to the drinks
Needless to say Lex didn't let go of his kid's hand for a while. they were there to make him look better, to make him look like a caring and worried father. That always boosted the public's opinion on Bruce Wayne and his image could use just a little more boosting
When time came for talking business, he let go of their hand and let them wander. Which was insanely stupid because apparently his own child has a terrible taste with people they talk to, in his opinion, because they had not only managed to grab a flute of champagne and were making conversation with one of the Wayne brats
He was about to run there and shut the conversation off when the gala was attacked by Gotham's villains (the worst in Lex's opinion)
It was all too quick, in one second the walls crumbled as the villains and their crooks made their way inside, in the other Tim was dragging Reader away from the commotion. Two seconds later, Superman, Batman and his flock jumped to action
Lex tried to look for his kid. For once in his life he wasn't trying to only save his skin. He soon found them beating up some of the crooks with the most delighted expression Lex has ever seen on their face, like they were having the time of their life with it
The fight was over not long after it started and Superman reached Lex's kid before he did and he damned himself for not having brought his kryptonite ring because what he wanted most was to shove it down the super's throat for even putting a hand on his kid's shoulder
Superman: You can't keep throwing yourself head first in fights, you'll get hurt! Is your father the one making you do this? Is he training you to be his henchman?
Reader: Pfft no, he's a bore. Why would he ever want a henchman anyway?
Superman: oh you don't know anything... Look, kid, your father is not a good person, he-
Lex(who hadn't heard the conversation): There you are, Reader, I've been looking for you for forever! Superman.
Superman: Mr Luthor. I don't think you need me to tell you to not let your kid get into fights like these were
Lex: I don't need you telling me anything about how to take care of my kid, alien. Reader, let's go
Lex didn't even give them the chance to say anything before he was dragging them back to his car and telling the driver to go.
Weeks passed and Reader couldn't get what Superman said out of their head. They did their research but it took a long time, of course Lex wouldn't leave any trails easy to find. But they were clever in their own way too. It took months but they started to connect the few begining pieces of what was their father's life.
One day, Reader was in their room studying when Lex entered and came clean about everything that he knew and was.
Lex: And the leak of your identity was me too. You're smart but careless, I found out everything I needed to know about you in two days. What if it had been someone else? You were lucky it was me, but luck doesn't come twice.
Reader: So what do you want? Because I know my mother tried to contact you and you didn't care. Why only start caring in the past few months? What do you gain
Lex: Besides my lovely heir, well, I gain a right hand. If, of course, you decide to join me in this mission of mine of taking down Superman. I have the perfect place for you in my labs, far away from the actual danger but with a hand in everything. What do you say, my child?
