One day during the Clone Wars probably:
Obi-Wan: Cody, you love me, yes?
Cody: Normally I’d say yes without hesitation, but I feel like this is going somewhere I won’t like.

waxer: I spy with my little eye something that begins with the letter “s”.
crys: *looks over at Cody and Obi-Wan* crys: Is it “sexual tension”?
Next up someone is going to claim that the Narnia series isn't kids books.
Kids books is probably not the best way to word it, you can enjoy them at every age, including your childhood, as you get older you may find new truths in them, but they're still good for any age.
Whenever Cody arrives it's like: the most competent man who takes no shit, takes initiative but also takes orders well just walked into the room. And his tits bounce. #needhim.
The joy I feel at stewjoni obiwan+codywany is at a magnitude I find hard to articulate
(Au credit to @leol )
cody meeting up with fox after getting with his general obiwan
Cody: shut up
Fox: I didn't say anything?
Cody: I can feel the judgement
I wonder if George and Dave had any idea just how beloved the clones would be amongst the women fans of Star Wars. Like mhm yes thank you for these silly little guys who make safe spaces for children despite being bred for war. Who show nothing but the upmost respect for the women in their lives. Thank you for giving us men who have every reason to be toxic but aren’t.
And also yes thank you for giving us men who are stripped of their autonomy and seen as lesser beings in a corrupt galaxy, because we all know how fairly women are treated in our own societies.
These men have no representation in the senate and therefore have no votes, I wonder who else historically has only recently been able to vote.
Mhm yes thinking thoughts indeed.
WIP Wednesday ~ Love Makes You Fly
Finally nearly done with this chapter. It's taken me ages to start getting it typed up because life is busy and parenting is hard. Anyway:
The completion of the barracks fills Cody with something that feels oddly like relief, regret, and frustration rolled into one oddly shaped ball. Although he has spent time living in a tent with his general on campaign, there is something very different about the intimacy which comes with living in a shared suite of rooms. He appreciates having his own space, of course, but he cannot help but miss the fact that he no longer has a reason for his quiet breakfasts with Kenobi. He no longer has a reason to linger in a comfortable pit of cushions and simply talk and enjoy his general's company. They are separated now by little more than a thin wall, but while the physical distance is smaller, there may as well be an entire galaxy between them. Away from Kryze's palace, the walls which had crumbled during their stay have been rebuilt. Cody knows that it was necessary. He hates that it had to happen.
☀️Concept up for peer review:
Cody knocks on Obi-wans door and hears him say he can come in. He’s a couple minutes early for their joint flimsi work session, buy they’re still getting to know each other and he still wants to make good impressions!!!
Only for Obi-wan to turn around with a comb in hand, finishing up his basic hair care with it cascading over his shoulder and all: oh hello commander!!! Let me just put my things away and we can get to work!!!☺️
And Cody is just 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
I’m paying to force seven thousand strangers to see a photo of my late husband having fun with his dog. Tumblr Blaze is totally worth it. XD
Thank-you to all of my new Internet stranger friends for being so gracious about having my post shoved onto your dashboards. I loved reading all of your kind tags and comments! Both Martin and Bosco have been gone for several years now but for 24 hours, they felt very present in my life. I greatly appreciate this gift. ❤️
Reblog to have your dashboard be visited by the spirit of joy that death can end but not erase.
Thank you to everyone who commented in their tags or messaged me. Indeed, today is “Martin and Bosco Day”. I originally whimsically blazed this photo on 13 July 2022. I never expected Martin and Bosco to travel so far and make so many new friends. The experience has been such a gift for me.
World cup codywan ⚽️👀
One time after a really long campaign during the Clone War:
Cody: I prevented a murder today, sir.
Obi-Wan: Really? How did you do that?
Cody: Self control.
Why does it sometimes feel like TCW went out of its way to avoid giving Cody any clear personality traits or showing Obi-Wan and Cody interact? Cody was the only distinct clone character in RotS, but somehow got zero development in TCW.
I saw a post saying that Codywan is totally fandom and it made me think about this. Cody is Obi-Wan’s second-in-command; they work together at least as closely as Anakin and Rex, closer in fact since Obi-Wan doesn’t have a Padawan commander. We know they have a relationship, but canon gives us next to no information on what that looks like. Fans had to “make stuff up” because they had f all to work with. Even in the books it’s freaking hard to find Cody. I really wish he’d appeared in Obi-Wan Kenobi, but no.
I really love that Padme is simultaneously the best person everyone knows and the one of the worst people everyone knows.
Like Queen Amidala was one of the most beloved Queens of Naboo in history, to the point that they literally wanted to overturn their own CONSTITUTION in order to keep her in power and only her refusal to allow it or to even run if they did kept that from happening. She's remembered as being kind, intelligent, brave, and beautiful. She is almost literally perfection incarnate.
And Senator Amidala is primarily known and remembered as someone who fought against war and corruption, someone who was willing to put her life on the line when it mattered and one of the few who was willing to speak out and fight against injustice. She's remembered for being powerful and clever and strong and moral.
There's never any real smear campaign against her the way there is against, say, the Jedi. Palpatine wants to stop Padme sometimes, sure, but he never sees her as such a big threat that he needs to turn the entire galaxy against her. In fact, her pristine reputation probably ends up helping him by proxy since he was her mentor. Even the reveal of Padme's pregnancy after her death, something that would've exposed that she'd had a scandalous affair, never seems to tarnish her reputation as a paragon of moral perfection. Even decades after her death, she seems to still be remembered extremely positively.
But the REALITY of Padme is far different. She's a corrupt politician, she's willing to help cover up several different crimes committed by her own husband, she's potentially going against her own planet's rules by having gotten married at all, she's going against some other rules by getting married to a JEDI. She's a liar and a hypocrite, she's selfish and greedy, and she's more and more willing to let herself be convinced into doing things she knows are wrong by the end.
But no one seems to truly know that person. The one person closest to her who does know about some of these choices often refuses to acknowledge or accept the reality of her because it obviously benefits him that she is this way and he's choosing to see what he wants to see. And everyone else is kept at such a distance that they don't get to see the darkness that lies beneath the pristine lie she wears.
So Padme ends up being someone that everyone remembers as being one of the best people they've ever known, but the reality is that Padme was likely one of the worst people they'd ever known, that she had in many ways become one of the people she constantly claimed to be fighting against.
Clones with scars specifically in the space between their armour plates. A vibro-knife cut on the elbow. A burn scar on the back of the knee. A shard of shrapnel in the hip.
Clones in awe at the beauty of the wider galaxy but lacking the vocabulary to describe it. “It’s… it’s beautiful. It’s like… beautiful. Just so beautiful. It’s pretty. Um. It’s beautiful.”
Clones trying on civilian clothes and hating it because they’re so used to the armour being heavy and stiff. Soft stuff almost makes them feel naked, like they’re in their blacks.
Clones who chose to grow out their hair but have no idea how to look after it so it’s a complete frizzy mess that HAS to be tied back lest it go everywhere.
Clones with intensely scathing internal dialogues who are always super polite and compliant because mentally disintegrating their authority figures was the only way they could stave off the urge to go completely off the rails on Kamino.
Clones who have never figured out how to verbalise feelings (worsened by working with Jedi who can just… FEEL their feelings) making up their own terminologies. “I feel like… wet.” “What?” “On the inside.” “ew.” “No! Ok listen, not like that.”
Clones with lingering sun damage from the first time they took their helmets off on a desert world (nobody told them about sunscreen).
Clones having to learn what familial terms mean because what the kriff is an “aunt”?
Newly deployed clones being really awkward in any conversation that isn’t related to war because they’ve never spoken casually with anyone that doesn’t share their exact life experience.
An extension to the previous: clones mirroring the energy of whoever they’re talking to, to an unnerving extent, because they’re trying to learn how to socialise.
Clones in phase 1 armour with rough skin in the spots where it rubs really bad (This is canon btw. It’s not enough they’re at war, the Kaminoans also apparently can’t be arsed to tailor their gear)
Clones after the war being identifiable by the way they walk, because they still move like they have the armour on.
Ugh, Clones. I love them so much. Weird little tortured guys.
Soft kisses
