Artemisia’s Great Big OC Post
Emma Solaire:
Emma Solaire is the daughter of the Greek god Apollo. she’s skilled in archery and medicine, but her true strength lies in her mastery of her sun-based powers. She can bend the sunlight to let her travel anywhere that’s well lit, summon blades and armor made of golden light, and look through beams of light to see places on the other side of the country. She’s also a prophetess, and she’s one of the lucky ones. Her only curse is her prophecies, and people listen when she speaks.
Auburn Talle:
Auburn Talle was raised by ogres. Because of this, her mind isn’t nearly as fragile as other elves. She leads a revolutionary group, the Luminaries, against the oppressing government. She claims to only use her mind control powers for good, but sometimes “good” can be a little gray.
Clarity Thornfield:
Clarity Thornfield is a bard. Not in the sense of a travelling musician, but in the sense of a magic user who can bend people to her will with her lyre. Her family were all Nature witches, so when she revealed her affinity for the musical, they shunned her—especially her sister, Cleara. Instead of turning on them, she used her power to usurp the throne and control their lives from the seat of royalty.
Eclipse Nightshade:
Eclipse Nightshade is an orphan. And somehow, she’s the most dangerous person in the city. After her parents died in a royally sanctioned “accident,” when she was 10, Eclipse was left to fend for herself. She discovered an affinity for technology and mental manipulation and used it to build her own empire. One where she would never be weak again. She found herself surrounded by people—Keilan, Rosette, Aiden—who understood her goal and would help her do anything to achieve it.
Lilac Delacoire:
Lilac Delacoire is a kind person. As a daughter of Aphrodite, she’s the sweetest girl alive. But don’t mistake her kindness for weakness. Her affection magic is addictive, and she isn’t afraid to use it if you upset her or her girlfriend—Emma Solaire.
Sirena Songbird:
Sirena Songbird was never meant to be a princess. The daughter of a boy killed and revived as a bird, her destiny was to face the same fate. Instead of going quietly, she chose to rebel against the expectations of the fairy tale world and write her own story. Falling in love with the Prince of Wonderland ended up making her a princess after all.
Elodie Sterle:
Elodie Sterle is out of touch. Literally. Being able to flip through realities like a notebook can do that to someone. She wants to be human, she desperately craves connection, but since shes on the run from multiversal police, she can’t quite settle down anywhere. That is, until she finds herself in a universe where they can’t follow.
Lisbon Marques:
Lisbon Marques does not love her husband. And he does not love her. A marriage between the daughter of a lord and the crown prince was supposed to be the best thing for diplomacy, but when the daughter is aromantic asexual and the prince is gay, the only thing that goes on is chaos. Especially when the prince is also a mad scientist, and his wife encourages his every move.
When Lisbon finds a magical item—a hypnotic silver compass on a chain—she decides to research it herself, using it to interrogate everyone who even had a slight chance of knowing something. Including the prince himself.
Velia Lovebug:
Velia Lovebug is the most charming girl in the world. Her powers let her convince anyone of anything, and she was raised to believe she was better than everyone else for it. She can be cruel at times, but she believes in a world where everyone can be equal. No matter what she has to do to achieve it.
Cygnus:
Cygnus never expected to be a parental figure. Yet, when she was thrust into a world where evil scientists experimented on children, turning them into animals-human hybrids, he was the first to step of as someone to rely on. He will do what it takes to survive the world she lives in, and will protect the people he cares about to the best of her ability. He was turned into a swan hybrid, and uses her newfound gracefulness to mediate situations and prevent outright anarchy. (Cygnus is also genderfluid, he/she pronouns)
Kiyoka:
Kiyoka was always going to be so angry. Another of the animal-human hybrids, Kiyoka’s response to the trauma she endured was rage. She turned herself into the kind of monster that survives, no matter what. She turned sly and clever and violent, a feral fox in a human’s body.
Claire Duvall:
Claire Duvall hates the dark. She isn’t afraid of what lies in it, but the absence of light unsettles her in a way that she can’t explain. One of Auburn’s Luminaries, her power is light manipulation. She can use it to see down to the very cells of your body, create illusions, and blind her enemies. She uses her power to do her part for her world, no matter what that takes from her.
Sam Reyes:
Sam Reyes is the most elegant man you will ever meet. His beauty and grace are weapons, and he uses them as such. Another Luminary, his actual power is hydrokinesis. It matches him perfectly. He is just as willing to do what he must for his world as both Auburn and Claire are.
Keilan Alarie:
Keilan Alarie is a scout for Eclipse, digging for info on bee hits to make sure they have as much as they can. He deals with houses, belongings and people. He values blackmail as much as Eclipse values gold. He’s the only person who can get mouthy with Eclipse without receiving death threats in return.
Rosette Bellewether:
Once a member of the elite, Rosette was exiled when her parents were accused of treason. This turned her against the law, and she seeks to one day dismantle it entirely. Skilled in the arts of profiling due to her time in higher education, especially when it comes to who would be the perfect victim.
Aiden DeWintres:
Aiden usually works as the group's failsafe or alibi due to his good reputation. He can talk his way out of (or into) almost any situation. However, he's soft, and will on occasion be caught out or put at a disadvantage due to his compassion. He tends to be Eclipse’s moral compass.
