Escape

I stared into empty space As the minute hand crawled on Fear, is all that’s left behind Fear of tomorrow Fear of rejection Fear of failure Fear of future Reluctantly, I packed for home Left the ever so gloomy four walls

Pacing myself each time I land Annoyed Frustrated Anger Close to disintegration

There it was, in front of me A young lady In her 20s? Doesn’t matter Someone who has much potential Having just took flight in career

Pulled into her dazzling aura I walked up This is it, it’s the escape (Pulled out a knife and stabbed with all my might) Her voice were like music to my ears It’s freedom It’s relief It’s all I ever wanted

Footsteps got louder I didn’t care I’ve made up my mind This is the only way to leave this agony

Sirens came up I laughed till I cried Throughout the ride, I was having the best time of my life

2nd day Man in blue came up to my room Instructions were given I didn’t reply But stared blankly at them I could feel bitter in my tongue Anger in my eyes A sharp pierce in my heart

3rd day A man in white sat across the table The interrogation went on for hours It was torturous

4th day (Bleached walls and bed sheets) The same four walls The heavy steel doors Everything They took everything away from me

I am still alive.

Hypocrites, trying to prove themselves Wanting their voices to be heard Wanting to make a stand Wanting to be noticed Disgusting Revolting Sickening Trying to stick up to someone else Outcasted Despised Ridiculed Why can’t we stand together Why the judgments Why the critics Why the misunderstandings Am I also one of whom trying to please Trying to amend Trying to bond Trying to stick up I’m sick, just like the rest of the world Am I too, just another hypocrite

Selfish, arrogant and ignorant are all too familiar to what we call mankind. Born with a voice we crave for our voices to be heard, to make a statement, have a social standing and criticize It’s a double edged sword but majority of which are hypocrites trying to prove themselves in society Trying to find flaws in others, making oneself feel better Avoiding heavy responsibilities to make lives easier Living a life full of lies What else is there worth the wait What else is there worth the take It’s just a meaningless passing of time Until the day you die
