Indefinite Hiatus

To all my followers here on tumblr, may I offer my sincere apologies for the great lack of activity as of late. Unfortunately I have lost a good deal of motivation and inspiration over the past year, and have not gotten better over the last few weeks. I do not wish to remain silent on the issue any longer and am leaving this message to show that this blog, as well as blackwolfraven and ask-garara, will be on an indefinite hiatus until further notice. I may or may not return again, but if not, then nothing terrible has happened. I will not delete these blogs, but leave them standing in hopes that they continue to provide pleasure to any who still look at them. Goodbye, and thank you for all your love and support. Every so often, Ananta liked to go wandering when the Primeval Forest was calm and quiet. More often than not, the female Garara Ajara tended to end up in stranger places than the ancient forest she'd long since called home. It was never much of a problem, for it had happened more than once in her lifetime - having wandered a good deal further than she'd intended. Fortunately the Snake Wyvern could always scent her way back home if she was well and truly lost, but for now, she would simply take her time and see exactly where her travels had taken her today.  Nearby, the distant pitter-patter of movement caught Ananta's sharp hearing - though the sharp clacking she heard was quite unlike the sounds of any other creature she knew of. It was too small to be one of the voracious carapaceons, and too large to be one of the smaller creatures she shared her home with. Lowering her immense form to the ground as so not to startle whatever was coming, the Garara Ajara waited as the sound approached... ((ihopeyoudon'tmindbutidrewuathing))

Greetings Writing Snake Wyvern, I'm honored to meet one of the new species found in this land. Though I wonder, why do you have legs, it seems rather odd considering your serpentine form.

I have this great, beautiful village with plenty of space for new villagers to build their houses in... and this little crapper called Anicotti decides to park her house directly outside mine? In my flowerbed, no less.

((Mod: Again, this wouldn’t be too far from the truth as Ananta certainly does have a troublesome beak! Pretty much all snakes lack lips as it is, but with a hard beak and a pair of sharp tusks jutting up from her lower jaw, the mere act of kissing (and similar intimate acts) is quite impossible for the female Garara Ajara. Even a simple flicker of her tongue is out since it can cause problems due to the paralyzing neurotoxins in her saliva, so kissing is definitely something that not only is Ananta bad at - but something she is truly unable to do without harming others. It is for these reasons that Ananta is poor at understanding intimacy, and refrains from physical contact as much as possible))

((Mod: This actually wouldn’t be too far from the truth. What with being so large and fearsome-looking, Ananta has enough trouble dealing with fully-grown monsters - let alone their offspring and other similar small creatures. It’s not that she doesn’t like children; in fact, she’s very fond of the hatchlings back at the temple, but it’s hard to be considered friendly when you’re a gigantic lindwyrm that’s capable of snapping a tree in two with a squeeze from your coils. That kind of thing tends to scare children, and it scares her to interact with them as they’re so tiny and fragile.))

"Greetings again, young Clock! You know, I heard a while ago that some species of birds are attracted to shining objects. You are not quite a bird, but is this true? If so, have you ever felt the appeal of collecting some treasures for yourself?"

Well, toooock… I do like shiny things. It’s kind of, tick, embarrassing.

B-but I don’t steal these things! Tock! I’m honorable! I mostly find these lying around on the, tick, floor of the jungle or while rooting through the ground for food. Hunters often lose these things and don’t even notice, tock!

I won’t tell you much about my horde, awk, but I can show you some of my favourite pieces.

I’m very fond of golden things, tick. Metal especially. I’m not, tock, sure why there’s a rock on the smallest piece, but it’s very sparkly. And I’m not even sure where the scale came from, awk, though it looks very similar to the one Mama gave me!

My other favourite things are the, tock, gems! Most of the ones I find are natural, like sapphires, but one of them was something a hunter, awk, dropped. He was running away from one of those, tick, Chamleos dragons and dropped it. When he didn’t come back, I went over to look at it - it was a giant jewel, tock! The Chameleos didn’t come back for it either, so I took it with me, tiiiick. It’s the biggest object in my collection!

((Mod: I know I haven't been very active the last few days, but I'm steadily working on a number of sketches over the course of this month and am making a little progress with the seasonal gifting I mentioned a few days back. However, I may be a bit slow over the next few days as I've been feeling sick as a dog and have work coming up as well, but it shouldn't be much of a problem. Planning on doing the best I can for people this Christmas so I'll be back on track soon enough!))

☑ - A fact about the character: Ananta’s tusks seem fierce and well-used, but she has rarely ever used them against other living beings - instead preferring the use of her noisy rattlers to keep enemies at bay. What she actually uses her tusks for is to help the strip the bark off trees, for there is a unique kind of tree in the Primeval Forest that gives off a scent not unlike that of incense when burnt. The scent of the burning peel is rich and sweet, and Ananta likes to periodically burn her own offerings of stripped wood before the stone statues carved in honor of her ancestors.☄ - My opinion of you: In the time I’ve gotten to know you here on tumblr, I think you’re a wonderful person with amazing talent in bringing out the potential of in-game NPC’s. I don’t know Megaman Legends as well as other games in the series, but you’ve created a lovable character out of Jumpy and have written (as well as drawn!) many wonderful responses! Like Haelth01, you’ve answered every single ask I’ve sent your way which was a fair amount, with detailed replies and images! You have a fantastic personality and a really warm heart, and I feel honored to count you as a close cross-series friend! <3

✾ - Why I chose my character: Being indecisive, there are so many monsters I really like in the series and it’s hard to choose just one. While a lot of existing ask-blogs feature monsters included in western releases, there have been a growing number of additions from Frontier recently. However, I noticed that there have only been a few from MH4 itself, with Goa Magara and Shagaru Magara being two of the most prominant exceptions. Since the two are very similar, I decided to go along with something a little different and that was Garara Ajara. I mentioned why on the previous munday post, that it was colourful and exotic-looking, but there’s another reason - that it’s heavily based on a mythical creature called Mbói Tu’ĩ.
