There was something in Derek's expression now that hadn’t been there before. More solid than hope, it was determination.
“You’re going to get me out of here,” he said, as if he hadn’t quite believed it until this moment. His face looked impossibly young as he studied Stiles, their hands still wrapped around each other’s wrists.
“Yeah,” Stiles said, feeling sure of it for the first time.
Derek looked at him for a long moment. Then he leaned in and kissed him.
