I am bored so I’m starting a tag game!

what languages do you speak? Do you have just one first language/language spoken when you were little? Multiple? Do you still speak them? How about ones you learned later? Are you fluent? that sort of thing

I’ll start! My first language is English, but I’ve been learning Spanish for five years and counting and I consider myself mostly fluent (not native level by any means but I can read/listen/write/speak well enough, and my abilities there aren’t much worse than in English, though my vocabulary is definitely less robust). I know a bit of French from my mom and middle school, and can figure some other things out à la Spanish. I can also swear in six languages (I don’t but I could lol)

Spanish was the language spoken in my family as a kid! It was so I'd learn Spanish at home, and English at school! My dad speaks italian from his time in rome, though.

So I'm fluent in Polish and English, I also know bits of German from school and stuff but I'm not really good with it, I also know bits of Japanese but it's really bad, wanted to learn it before but I'm too lazy and forgetfull to get into a learning rutine

My first language was Polish and af for English I'm within the language learning journey for about 9 years already

My parents wanted me to learn german when I was little cause I'm half german myself but it's cause of my dad's work and I don't have any family there so there wasn't much pressure and I've never actually learned it

I'm fluent in French (first language) and English, I speak a bit of Spanish and I'm learning Italian, I also know hiragana + some katakana and kanji (so in Japanese), I'm planning to learn Swedish and Russian even if for now I only know some words, and right now I'm learning French Sign Language ! Next year I might start a local language too, and I think that's all ? I plan to learn more but for now that's already a lot. Oh also I knew how to read Wingdings at some point even if that's not a language

I fluently speak Ukrainian (first language), Russian (first-ish language? A lot of people spoke it around me so I never had to go out of my way to learn it) and English (what even is "all the faith he had had had had no effect on his life").

I've been trying to learn German but gave up really quickly, so I can only say a couple of phrases. Might try again. I can also kind of stumble through a few sentences in BSL

Maybe I'll try to learn other languages in the future, but only this for now

I am a native english speaker. I speak Spanish and French semi-fluently. I'm like mediocre at ASL (hoping to find a class or better learning resources soon so I can get better).

When it comes to dead languages, I'm "fluent" (aka can read and write and speak fluidly and naturally, but can't be truly fluent cause it's dead) in Ancient Greek. Used to be better at Latin but fell out of practice. Mediocre at translating heiroglyphics but do not put pressure on me.

i LOVE LOVE LOVEEE learning new languages and if anyone wants to recommend some resources i'd be ever grateful!!!!

one of my biggest pet peeves is straight people using explicitly gay songs or an explicitly stated gay song by the artist. theres how many straight songs and youre using a queer song... I just dont like it. it rubs me the wrong way (I hate this saying but it just makes sense idk guys)

like... when someone covers a queer song and changes the pronouns to make it straight, but ik its a double standard bc idc when ppl change songs to make them queer. idk guys this might be weird I js dont like it
