Hey, did y'all see this?
I saw this when running newpipe. But wait, it gets deeper. I clicked on the details buttons and it said as of today, we have 83 days left until Google rolls out this new requirement for apps inside and outside of the google play store. If any developer disagrees with their new terms and fees, they will be blocked!
I'll share some of the info below:
Looks like they're trying to nuke the remaining privacy and freedoms we have left on the internet.
What to do?
-Get your developer friends to not comply to their new guides
- Sign the open letter on the site and take action by checking out the full resources list on their website as well!
To summarize, this is all daunting especially when you feel all alone with unfair and inhumane regulations comming out faster than improvements but we got this working together!
Share the link with your friends, family and anyone who will listen!
Your phone is about to stop being yours. In September 2026, Google will block every Android app whose developer hasn't registered with them.
If you're in the US, I created a petition to make it easier to contact senators and congressmen.
Join 1 people. Google is trying to make people hand over government id in order to make an Android app. If they don't, then that app can't b
If you're not in the US, see if your country is listed here for whom to contact.
Analyzing the politics of a work that's meant to be apolitical is actually a really interesting exercise because it asks you to critically examine what the creator considers to be "political" in the first place. Which ideas are just How Things Are, and which ones are Political, and how is that influenced by the creator's beliefs?
Usually this just ends up with you looking like a moron btw
Angrily lashing out at the suggestion that it's possible to do basic media analysis was foundational to the ragebait ecosystem of the 2010s, from which we got basically the entire culture of modern far right politics, btw.
I genuinely believe myself and others are being so sincere and literal when we say TOUCH GRASS
I went outside and got an education, that's where I learned that you can obtain knowledge and insight through analytical methods, then noticed that some people who sit on the internet yelling at strangers get really mad about that constantly.
So actually if you really wanted to use your analysis skills you'd realize that what people are annoyed about is the implication that there's never a story or creative work they can create that can escape people like you attempting to assign political meaning to it when they just don't want that. That in fact people's presumptions about life are not, in fact, political (at best they are cultural, which is not an inherently facet of politics). And that by you people arrogantly pushing this idea you are intruding on the fact that a lot of people use fiction as escapism from politics and insisting that "urm no actually your favourite cartoon actually has politics cause no human being is 100% unbiased" is in fact, supremely fucking annoying
"Stop having fun wrong, it ruins my fun when you have fun wrong, it's not enough for me to just scroll past the analysis I don't like, if anyone anywhere is saying that the cartoon exists in a political context that's undermining my enjoyment of it!"
That's you. That's what you sound like.
Basic English class bringing out the vintage gamergate blogs lmao
there's this account on bluesky that just randomly samples the last reply someone made before getting blocked by the person they were replying to and it's a really good gimmick blog concept. I don't think tumblr data is public enough to make this possible here unfortunately. some samples:
When you get past all the political stuff/heinous crap, there are QUITE some gems on here
this is my bot, and this tumblr post about my bot is probably the single largest impact i have ever had in my life
from this i should learn to do low-effort gimmick stuff and to never worry about doing high-effort anything. i won't learn that, but i should

my aunt is watching some generic daytime tv talkshow and the hosts are very cheerfully going "yknow this AI thing isnt actually as cool as i thought it was- i keep noticing the google overview getting facts wrong! isnt that weird?" and its very funny watching regular middle aged people finally catch on. we did it lads it took long enough.
I guess you could say heās ve⦠heās a very hā¦
quarterly reminder that if i reblog something ai-generated it is 110% and always an accident and for the love of god please tell me so i can delete it from my blog
The people who insist AI is smarter than a human are doing their fucking damnedest to manifest that
"AI is smarter than a human!" -> AI is smarter than YOU. YOU feel it is smarter because YOU lack the free-thinking needed to recognize its errors and your own dependency
Vote for progressives. #DSA #ZohranMamdani
Democrats, are you taking notes? This is how you get shit done.

if the Hunger Games were real you know you'd have liberals saying things like "it's so cool how the Hunger Games allow anybody a chance to win, it's so democratic" and "it's great to have some District 12 representation amongst the winners of the Hunger Games" and "we need to make sure that young girls receive just as much Hunger Games combat training as young boys #feminism"
its an utter tragedy that people only get into witch hat atelier for qifrey/orufrey and end up ignoring everything else. when the manga is soooo good and there's more to it than orufrey. the disability rep with tartah? the criticism of the education system with richeh's story? that one chapter that handled the topic of sexual assault in a respectful way? euini's story? the conflict with the brimhats? the four mcs also get pushed aside in favour of the men which is such a shame because coco, agott, tetia, and richeh are wonderful characters. and even the sapphic ship involving the main character (arkco) isn't as popular as orufrey.
like don't get me wrong, orufrey is great, i love my gay witches who cannot apit their feelings out. but then getting attention over everything else in wha, even the mcs, is sadly another case of the female characters being ignored and pushed aside in favour of men, and the sapphic ship involving the main character is sidelined in favour of the popular mlm ship. its sad that this is a problem even in media where girls are the centre.
I personally just barely started reading Witch Hat, and I'm so glad I knew nothing of the fandom until today. And I'm...
*sigh* not surprised but still super disappointed to hear a gay ship is the main focus for the fans. Because I'M here for the beautiful magic system, the intricate world building, the DELIGHTFUL character dynamics and watching these little girls grow and develope their skills!
Euini, MY BABY BOI! Just got to his chapter and I'm loving how dark the story just went. That was a literal child transformed and mutilated, and not by his consent.
I'm loving loving LOVING this series so much already... but I don't ship anybody with anyone. The representation has been phenomenal, and I'm not caught up yet, so I'm not going to discount any queer content that may or may not happen (i don't fucking know lol) but right now? It's just adorable little girls doing their best to become witches (and survive- JESUS) and two troubled men with a deep bond wanting the best for those little girls.
Qifrey being a giddy and excited/devoted teacher is my favorite thing so far. He LOVES it when the girls fuck up a spell, he literally goes "Oh let me see! Ah yes interesting! Facinating result!! Try again! :D" It's so cute. š
i feel like people are way too quick to treat the brimhats like 'the villains' and assume they're all just morally bankrupt terrorists or something, when the narrative makes it painfully, explicitly clear that they really only exist because of the oppressive laws of the pact maintained by the pointed capsā who themselves are not exactly the pinnacle of morality either.
memory-wiping is not a morally neutral act. even when used to prevent someone labeled as 'dangerous' from doing further damage, removing their memory is still an act of incredible violence. the confrontation between galga and ininia is a really good microcosm of this fact; galga, as far as we've been shown, is not a cruel or heartless personā but ininia is almost certainly right in her assertion that, had the tables been turned, he would've had no issues wiping her memory of magic. and even then, even then!!!! the narrative shows us that galga's memory being wiped is ALSO really awful and horrific!!
it's also important to note that, if you're wiping the mind of someone who has been involved in magic for a significant portion of their lives (like most witches in the series) that is an absolutely catastrophic loss of self to inflict on someone. so much so that they're exiled in order to relearn how to even exist in society. it is a violation of autonomy on one of the deepest levels imaginable, and the brimhats aren't the ones best known for using it
i just feel like too many people are pigeonholing the brimhats when we don't even know all that much about them, yet.
Something that's been on my mind for years is that the brimless witches got the short end of the stick in regards to hats because I won't lie, the brim hats are so much more cunty.
