Natalie needed an escape. And unfortunately, walking outside of the big border shaped door to Grimstone wasn’t a viable option to take – instead she would find solace in the bottom of the bottle as usual. Her only vice that was considered legal within the walls of her solitary confinement. However, tonight had been different. She’d drank too much, suppressing every feeling she could until she was numb and felt nothing. Yet … she wanted to feel something. It was confusing, and the redhead found herself placing her lips to every male in sight; consuming the bitter taste of alcohol on their mouths while pushing the limits on how far she’d proceed in terms of intimacy.
Despite her state, she had exited the club with her virginity still intact – most likely disappointing those who believed Natalie Anderson was anything but. However, she wasn’t walking in the direction of her house, she was heading towards Oakwood in search of comfort from a friendlier face than Cassandra or Jay. Although, it was late and the chances of them being awake was slim. That thought never crossed her mind though, and she continued taking stumbling steps down the darkened path.
She hadn’t been walking long before she heard footsteps coming behind her. Coming to a halt under a streetlamp, she breathed heavily out of nerves, before her fears were confirmed as she was captured by a stranger and dragged into the darkness once more. She was too intoxicated to put up a real focused fight, and instead she made do with clenching her hands into fists and beating the arm around her figure while trying to scream – however her throat was too dry to produce such volume needed to alert. It was only when she noticed the guard walking in the near distance that she quietened down, she didn’t need that attention – of course, she could find a way to talk her way around why she was out past curfew with her power, blame it on the dark knight behind her. If it was Logan though, she wouldn’t stand a chance – after all, he was the only person she couldn’t manipulate.
Once he spoke that she relaxed, slightly, and twisted her head around to get a closer look at him. It took her a moment to recognise him, but he was in the woods with her. She’d given him mathematical knowledge, if she remembered correctly. She noted that it was probably a good thing he’d been the one to locate her — or so she had originally thought. Her mind trailed off to questions of why he had been following her, and there was only two answers that sprung to mine. He had had the same plan as her, he was heading home or he was here to escort her back. However, she didn’t exactly remember Austin residing in Oakwood.
“Thanks,” she mumbled, too overwhelmed at the situation to show much gratitude. Once she had composed herself, she was able to smile for a brief moment. “I just didn’t hear them.. or you, actually.” Narrowing her eyes, she stared at him with a hint of intrigue. “What are you… Why…” Her mind couldn’t fathom the words, any words for that matter. Suddenly, she felt tired – clearly that was too much excitement for the intoxicated teenager. “Don’t worry,” she said, coherently. “These guards love me, I’d be… I’d be fine. You can leave now, Mr. Foster. Unless you wanted something from me, but I should warn you –” She grimaced, leaning in closer with glazed over eyes. “If you kiss me, you’ll never want to stop.”
“You’re special to me, Natalie Anderson.” Austin admits, however he doesn’t explain himself. He questions whether he would be able to without sounding like he was replacing his younger sister for a newer upgraded model, which was the last thing he wants to do. However, what he doesn’t know is what exactly the girl in front trying to hide and why. All he knows is that he really wishes he wasn’t here right now. For a much different reason than before. If she really is planning on making a break for it then he wants no part in knowing. He’ll have no choice but to really drag her back if that’s the case and he isn’t fond of that idea. It’s not like he’s some monster, after all. He’s just trying to survive in this world and protect those who cannot protect themselves. Especially from the ones dressed with firearms.
“Cut the shit, red.” He shuts her down with a roll of his eyes and a small shake of his head. “I don’t know what you’re planning or who belongs in Oakwood, but I’m willing to escort you safely home if you turn around right now and come back with me.” He explains. It’s obvious that she isn’t going to the ‘employee sector’ to return to her residence because, for one, she’s not an employee and, if she were, she wouldn’t be worried about a curfew, or at least thanking him for saving her ass.
“C’mon.” He urges. “I’ll take you back to mine and we’ll see if Aislinn is up. I’m sure she’d love a girly chat.” He adds as a persuasion attempt. Still, he doesn’t move because he’s waiting for Natalie to do it first. He isn’t about to turn his back and let her take off. For all he’s aware, she may be stealthy as fuck, despite her recent performance, and he could be shit out of luck. Plus, he doesn’t really feel like running, or chasing someone down rather. he’s more than exhausted. “If we could move this along a little faster, that’d be awesome. I’d like to get a little rest before I have to get up and save you again.” He tells her. He isn’t necessarily trying to be harsh with her, but he’s sick of playing this game already.
