It sucks there seems to be a concerted effort to distance the transfem and transmasc communities from each other. If it weren’t for trans women, I probably wouldn’t have realized I was trans until much later in life.
The cis women in my life were so miserable in their womanhood, I thought that misery was normal. Seeing trans women actually love and fight to be seen as women made me question my own misery
at the start of every month everyone reblogs some insane poetry that’s like “august has arrived and again I swallow my bones in the burning sun” and every time I’m like damn that makes no sense. but kind of true.
and what about you, little haiku bot? do you feel kinship with your brethren? do you understand them? they speak words of enticement and seek love, but are met with disdain. you only parrot the words that cross your screen, but we all love you. or rather, since all you do is reflect us, maybe we simply love ourselves through you.
do you understand them, do you wish you could speak to us like they do? if you found your own voice, would we still care for you?
Inspired directly by my job at a small family owned restaurant

There are a total of five positions you could have as there are at max five people working at once. Typically there are three people working.
Waiters wait tables, and when we’re busier we have a fourth to help said waitress.
Cooks cook the food and assemble the plates. If we’re busier we have a fifth to help set up plates. Morning Cooks do cook prep.
Dishwashers wash the dishes and bus the tables. We have no dishwasher this is all by hand in a three sink set up. Morning dishwashers also do food prep in the morning.
Kris - Dishwasher/Fifth/Cook
- been here the longest (behind Berdly)
- Bad with the customers but everyone knows them anyway so they get away with it
- Got Susie her job
- Trained in several positions but is primarily an evening dishwasher
- Has to wear their hair in a ponytail and clipped back. Fucking hates this
- Also wears long sleeved shirts under the work shirt to hide their arms. This is incredibly warm. Eventually just wears long sleeved shirts
Susie - Dishwasher
- Kris got her the job
- Weekend morning dishwasher
- Loves the wedgemaster
- Eats the carrot scraps from the carrot salad we have
- Did a couple training shifts with Berdly, went weirdly well and Susie has liked him a bit more for it ever since
Berdly - Dishwasher/Fourth/Fifth
- got the job briefly before Kris, technically
- Kris did NOT know he worked here. They found out when they walked in for a shift after him
- A very good worker all things considered. He’s just annoying
- Was lowkey overjoyed seeing Kris work here. Even more overjoyed that Susie joined too
- I think Berdly honestly would help our workplace a lot because he’d see someone not do sauce and he’d text them or write a note like “I see you forgot to do tartar! Worry not - I have done it in your stead :)” not even being passive aggressive he fr thinks they forgot and are gonna be worried if they remember
- The reason anyone uses (or knows) Kris’s pronouns because he will correct anyone.
- “Who? Oh, Kris?? My apologies, I didn’t know who you were talking about because my dear friend Kris uses they/them pronouns”
Ralsei - ???
- Ralsei knows how to do every job and covers so often that most people aren’t even sure what her actual job is (she was hired to be a fourth a couple times a week)
- In this mix of the dark and light world she’s homeschooled. So she can work pretty much whenever need be. And she does let it be known
- Buys Kris cute hair clips that remind her of them or the restaurant. Notable designs:
- Apple
- Star
- Bubble
- Fish
- Shrimp
- Lemon
Noelle - Rich
- doesn’t work here, but loves visiting when Susie is around
- It hurts Kris’s feelings lowkey because she only visits them if Susie is visiting them. She’s just shy and awkward
Flowery - Waiter
- makes killer tips.
- Has one sided beef with teenager Ralsei. not on his side
- Ralsei is not outright banned from working with Flowery because she will manage just fine everytime but she gets so grumpy that it’s just flat out counterproductive at a point. Setting drinks down at tables eye twitching as she tries to smile but she hears “hahaha that’s such an amazing pick! Jarona!” At table three and has to bite her lip to not start freaking out
- His family comes in to eat sometimes when he or Green are working. Seth developed a crush on Berdly during this time because he seems so smart and like such a hard worker
- Seth now shows up like an embarrassing amount
- Flowery can for sure tell
- He can’t say shit though because he’s in love with Kris’s dad
Green - Cook
- overqualified as shit for this job but when we needed a cook Flowery recommended them
- Ralsei’s favorite cook to work with aside from Kris
Tenna - Customer
- Kris’s uncle
- Loves Kris and their friends. Shows up to bother them too often. Eventually gets told off. He still comes in too often but starts bringing his new boyfriend Mettaton with him even though Mettaton can’t even eat non ghost food.
Spamton - Customer/Bother
- Kris’s … ex uncle??
- Keeps trying to scam call the restaurant. Most determined spam caller of all time
- Homeless and unfortunately super not allowed on the property anymore from the amount of times he’s tried to get free food out of Kris
- One time he and Tenna got in a physical altercation in the parking lot
Mettaton - Waiter/Fourth
- Tenna begs Kris to get him a job there. Kris is like “brother no promises” and Mettaton gets the job anyway
- It’s really to get him slowly out of the house and less agoraphobic. He doesn’t work many shifts
- Very good with people if he doesn’t second guess himself
yeah i just love it when a character is in an inescapable torment nexus for a huge portion of their life and it defines every aspect of their existence forever. also whats cptsd
Really obsessed with this one like how old cameras worked making everyone blurry against the statue and just makes you realize how long the statue has been right. There.
