I dont care what anyone says but Italy DOES NOT like Germany!

Germany is so mean to him and yall out here romanticizing this. It makes me so upset because I KNOW italy doesnt like him. I can like communicate with my fictionkins in some way and I know italy is there. He literally gets uncomfortable when someone brings germany up. He even tries to get closer to me and I have to comfort him. Germany literally screams at him and beats him and you all will call this romantic?

When he is with me he is excited and talks about his day and he hums his favorite tunes (mostly taylor swift at the moment) and he falls asleep next to me every night. I just feel his soft breathing next to me. Sometimes I can even feel him holding my hand when I’m sad.

So stop saying he likes germany because I think I know him better than you guys do

Ignoring the much more likely scenario that these dickheads are blaming their moral failings on a damn tv show because they're pussies who can't take responsibility... America is explicitly stated to have trouble making and keeping friends due to poor social skills (not in those exact words, but that’s what it boils down to), and he has trouble with boundaries. He also has a strong sense of justice and has a very black and white way of thinking and perceiving the world. He’s incredibly blunt, and is shown in canon to have trouble understanding sarcasm and reading the atmosphere.

He’s genuinely compassionate and want to help others, but has low empathy (for the record, this means he can’t understand others’ feelings and emotions and has trouble putting himself in their shoes). He also makes a lot of arm movements, which could be stimming. America also mainly eats hamburgers and junk food, which could be a sensory thing. He has a canon hyperfixation on heroes. America also is loud/has volume control issues.

Anything else

Hetalia IS a problematic series and should be consumed critically. The dub is far more problematic than the sub/manga, but the sub/manga still has problematic elements.

Hetalia in Canon has a lot of issues and it is very harmful, you cannot really go like

"oh but if you dislike it you can just leave" because then it would leave in this Fandom only privileged white people who can afford to ignore those problems, because those ideas do not harm or are not used against them irl.

You cannot shut down every discussion or criticism because you like it, you need to listen, so you can understand those problem and avoid even if accidentally putting those ideas and harming others

Criticism is a way and a hope that things can improve, both within Canon and Fandom spaces.

Also FYI some of us have hyperfixations.
