Ships: Blackinnon, Jily, Remus x Dorcas
'Dark lord, are you sure that you don't want us to come with you?' said an annoyingly shrill voice from the table.
'I am just going to kill a one-year old boy' said a cold voice from a chair at the end of the table. 'They will be at Godrics Hollow, am I right Pettigrew?' The pale man was now looking at a mousy looking man at the far end of the table.
'Yes dark lord' squeaked the man named Pettigrew, looking at his fingers.
'So today, I shall finally come to power, and we shall remove all the mudbloods from our world'
The Dark Lord was now looking at another man with a hooked nose that peeped out of his greasy hair that fell on his shoulder.
'The credit of my success will also go to one is my faithful Death Eater' Dark Lord had an uneasy grin on his face, ' Snape, and you shall be rewarded after I have murdered the boy.'
The Dark Lord then turned to the woman who had the annoyingly shrill voice and took his wand out, 'I will not use any kind of protection this time' looking at his want closely.
' But Dark Lord- ' the woman began, but dark lord stopped her. The room fell silent.
Oblivious to the conversation the was going on, two men, two women and one child were were enjoying in the living room. It was a halloween night, Children were knocking from door to door calling "Trick or Treats!" there was a happy, festive atmosphere, but James, Lily and Harry were not allowed to go out of their house Sirius and Maralene were also there. Harry had been dressed as a deer with a hairband that had glittering horns and a brown romper. This dress, in Lily's view, would have been more comfortable than the golden net and wings the boy had to wear last time for becoming a snitch. This, ofcourse was James' idea.
'I'll probably get some treats for Prongs junior' Sirius laughed, while getting up and stretching his feet.
'Are you?' Maralene asked with a raised eyebrow
'Well, as long as I remember, the last time when you got me some chocolates, you ate it all yourself.'
'Oh yeah, I was hungry that day, but today will be different.' He said goofily. Everyone laughed at this, almost everyone. Lily was looking at her son who was playing with his toy wand,colourful sparks coming out of it. All of them had now become very interested in the boy, unaware of the gloominess around him, the boy chuckled and giggled with every colour that erupted from his wand.
James sighed , 'I wish I could come with you-'
'He needs us James!!Why don't you understand that?' Lily belowed.
'Ok fine! I know that. I'm sorry! '.
'I'll be back soon,' Crack! Sirius had disapparated, it was only Harry , James, Lily and Maralene left there.
'Let's play exploding snap!'Maralene proposed.
'I am sure that Lily isn't going to play and we cannot play between two players, so it will be better if we play chess.' James explained, grinning.
'Yeah, I am going to clean Harry's room.' Lily said, getting up, with Harry in her arms.
'Oh! I almost forgot!' Maralene exclaimed, 'Dumbledore gave it to Sirius and Sirius gave it to me in case he forgot,' Maralene was digging into her bag, 'um...it was somewhere here... where is it?... here!' She took out a thin silvery substance and handed it over to James.
'My invisibility cloak!' James almost jumped and grabbed it from her hands. 'Did he say something?' he asked while examining it.
'I dunno, be gave it to Sirius so...'
'Yeah, I'll ask him.' James finished.
'We're lucky we didn't have duty today, poor Remus and Dorcas, both of them are away.'
'Hmm, but they'll be back by third! and I have a master plan for the celebration!'
'No, its my best mate's birthday'
'Whatever! It's my plan.' He said annoyingly.
'Drop the topic. Lets play chess' she said slowly.
'Right, I'll get the chessboard', James got up and brought the chessboard.
They played the game for some minutes, then there was a noise of the gate opening. Nobody, except the secret keepers and James and Lily knew where the house was. Even Maralene had to use side along apparation with Sirius to come here. They heard footsteps approatching the house. Lily came out of Harry's room, concerned. All of them took their wands out, ready to dwell any Death Eater.
'I'm taking Harry' Marlene whispered, and grabbed James' invisiblility cloack, and ran into Harry's room to pick him up from his crib. She pointed her wand at Harry and -
Harry's babbling sound had disappeared, and so did they, under the invisibility cloak. The footsteps came closer, from what James and Lily figured out, it was only one person. They were walking very slow, but they finally appeared in the living room. It was for a second that James and Lily skipped a heartbeat, it was not a Death Eater ,nor a friend, it was Voldemort!
'Where is the boy?' he asked , neither James nor Lily answered his question. With a quick movement, he was pointing his wand at Lily, 'Perhaps now you will tell me; where is the boy?
And before anyone knew, Lily was on the floor, screaming with pain, tears rolling down her face, and there was the hysterical laugh of voledmort, full of joy.
Harry was silently crying, Maralene was paralysed, James too seemed to have frozen.
'Where is Harry Potter?' Voldemort retorted
'He's with Kingsley Shackle bolt, a friend of mine. Now please stop it!' James pleaded.
James too was starting to tear up. His wife, the woman he truley loved, the woman he had decided to give his life to, was screaming with pain, and he could not do anything. Then James finally decided to stun Voldemort. He was looking at the laughing man, anger flowing through his veins, he pointed his wand at Voldemort and-
Green light filled the room, nothing was visible, and when it faded, James saw Voldemort on the floor, next to Lily, who was panting. It was not James who had yelled, nor was it Maralene it couldn't be Lily, she was under the cruciatus curse , but it was a very femiliar voice, the voice of a close friend, who emerged behind the door, wand ready, looking around at everyone, it was Siruis Black.
'Lily! What happened?' He questioned.
Lily, who was on the floor was too busy relaxing her muscles, that had been hurting a minute ago, to actually understand what had happened.
James too, was unable to grasp the situation, a minute ago, his arch enemy was cursing his wife and now he was on the floor, probably dead. That means Sirius had killed Voldemort.
Maralene lifted the silencing charm off Harry, and the room was filled with his cries. James made sure that Voldemort was really dead before taking Harry in his hands. While Sirius and Maralene helped Lily out.
'You were just in time,' said Lily, looking at the sweets on the door.
'Yeah, I saw him flying so I decided to check y'all. At first I thought it was my cousin.'
'Even I thought so' James nodded.
I'm going to call Dumbledore. Pettigrew betrayed you' said Maralene taking the mirror out of her bag.
'Wait, we need to be sure about him' said Sirius.
'He can't possibly be dead, can he? It's very unlikely that he doesn't have a backup'
'Keep your wands ready for the dea-'
'Marls please, just call Dumbledore' Lily whined.
'Yeah.. umm.. where are we?'
'Godrics Hollow, West England.' Sirius replied.
'Dumbledore' Maralene said while Dumbledore appeared on the mirror.
Voldemort was dead, Harry Potter was safe, Sirius Black married Maralene McKinnon, Peter Pettigrew was hunted down and imprisoned in Azkaban. And yet, the war was not over.
