Arid and Kaia.

I’ve had these two floating around in my head for years, since before I even knew they were gay. I came back to look at them after I’d started to experiment with my own identity and it took me all of two seconds to go “wait shit—they’re so gay for each other” (well, Kaia is gay for Arid, Arid’s just gay).

Anyways, I’m posting them because the larger story they were a part of just got a major overhaul and they don’t really fit anymore (though to be honest they’ve been able to stand on their own for multiple years at this point) so since I don’t have to worry about fitting them into a still-developing story anymore, I figure they’re waited long enough. So here they are: my beloved giant sand cat lesbians.

(That’s what a Sanduar is btw. They’re giant sand cats)

I was feeling confident after I finished the prior version, so I went back in and decided to try doing some actual lineart, and I ended up redrawing the whole piece (except for the trans circle, that’s the same as in the original).

Other changes:

- made their body longer so that it would be more proportional to his legs (this was something that really bugged me about the original

- was able to make the flower crown cleaner and more intricate due to it being more of a planned element instead of an afterthought this time. I also made the outline a different color from the rest of the piece so that it would stand out more

- changed the shading quite a bit. The dark part is much darker now and covers the whole circle so that it drives attention toward Viima’s head and face. I also kept the dark shading in the original pink hue, while the shading in the light part is now blue (I really wanted the shading to convey them stepping into the light/out of the shadows as he’s finally himself and I think the new one does a much better job of that than the original)

-I also changed the text, added a period and a comma, and made the outline thinner so that they would be easier to read/less of a distraction
