There are amazing and creative people here and then there are demons and scoundrels and the insane amount of micro-societies created by both would make any sociologist have a field day. that racist pool video makes me so mad because when i was 11, my brother 13, we would go to our neighborhood pool every single day during the summer and swim with our friends.. and then one day midsummer, the open access changed to an elaborate sign-in process. 

and then even after we signed in, he and I would be constantly asked by random white residents if we even lived in that neighborhood, or accused of hopping the fence. something like this would happen every single time we went there to swim. our friends (who were all white, as we were the first black family to move into this neighborhood/the only black folks there at the time), were never asked or badgered in this way. they often had to defend us from random old white people trying to kick us out of our pool. 

adults made us so uncomfortable being there that we eventually just stopped going. 

so fuck this guy.
