Fandom Problem #15,784:
headcanoning your blorbo as barely tolerating the opposite sex particularly if that opposite sex person is their friend is not the pro-gay move y'all think it is, that's just your blorbo being sexist.
Oh, this definitely belongs on Tumblr.

The last two are both the same block, btw.
Wouldâve been nice if Jax, who clearly was meant to have AMâs misanthropy due to trauma and abuse, and Caine, who was a subversion of AM, got into an argument about whether it not humans are inherently worth anything good or not. That wouldâve worked better than Caineâs crashout over a misunderstanding, in our opinion, and also wouldâve tied Jax better into the main narrative opposed to the narrative derailing itself to make itself about Jax in the last half of the series.
Like Jax couldâve trauma dumped his tragic backstory during the argument as âproofâ that humans are evil, disgusting, selfish creatures, and Caine wouldâve been forced to contend with the knowledge that he really doesnât understand human beings at all.
Either Caine could admit he canât possibly understand the emotional complexities and intricacies that happened between Jax and his mom, OR Caine could relate, because he was quarantined by Kinger, showing the audience that even though Caine saw the worst of people like Jax has, he still sees humans as a Positive, opposed to Jaxâs misanthropy.
âŚThereâs something else bothering me about all of this. We all covered the flaws and discrepancies, but I feel like something else popped into my head when I was trying to come up with various reasonings.
If C&A was shut down, and the property was abandoned to the point Suzy (Ragatha) and her team went out to investigate the property and put it up for marketâŚhow come the power never went out?
And moreover, why leave behind all electronics and important data behind?
I know I sound insane (and I am, I admit that) butâŚwhen it comes to making a narrative that depends on the logistics of what something is why something has been done or why itâs around, thereâs always reason.
The circus really shouldnât have existed if the property was completely abandoned (if the fact that Grant and Destiny and all other devs completely dropped the projects to do other matters), thenâŚthe property would have been sold to someone else, hence why Suzy and her team came.
Moreover, the fact that likely had been used as a shelter for Leeroy and maybe Leah (Ribbit) or Doug (Kaufmo) COULD be considered legitimate if it was still somewhat plausible for the property to be in good shape.
Zoeyâs case, to me, is a very critical discrepancy with the reveal of her accident and with zero reason why she was there to begin with, and we never figured that out.
As for Riley (Zooble) and Abigail (Pomni), it can be excused as urban exploring.
All of this while the building is still standing; itâs tech from the 90âs still in working condition to even turn on, connected to a headset, and systematically be powered on by possible emergency generators.
The fact that nobody sold or destroyed the tech in general is no short of a miracle for Caine.
âŚI know Iâm speaking in hypothetical terms, but thatâs also because situations where it can happen, can and will happen.
Pomni: We all have done bad things.
Gangle: We? What do you mean 'we'? Like Nintendo Wii?
Pomni: No, I mean us.
Ragatha: Us? As in-
Pomni: No, as in us-
Zooble: Oh I am sorry, I haven't remember doing anything horrible.
Pomni: No, you, we all have done bad things-
Ragatha: No, I didn't.
Pomni: We live in the circus, we have to do our part-
Zooble: I'll part ways.
Pomni: Listen, we all have-
Kinger: We? Why are we speaking french?
This is what somebody needed to tell Jax. On everything.
Gooseworx: "I took heavy inspiration from I have No Mouth and I Must Scream when writing The Amazing Digital Circus!"
Gooseworx: read a plot summary, then heard about the book and author being criticized for their misogyny and went "hm i wanna do that too"
man i was so excited to see a modern adaptation of IHNMAIMS, it's such a cool sci-fi horror that could be adapted into a more modern setting, especially with the rise of AI now.
but nah, TADC wasn't interested in exploring any of that. Caine is said to be a "creative AI" which doesn't sound too different from generative AI, but they don't explore the downsides to this at all. there could have been a lot of interesting commentary on the devolving state of technology.
i've seen people call TADC "lore bait" and that's very accurate. it wants to pretend like it's this really interesting world with an overarching plot and detailed worldbuilding, but it's just random hints that lead nowhere. it's like if you were writing a murder mystery and you planted a bunch of clues that has nothing to do with the final reveal.
