It’s 2026 so I’m no longer gatekeeping this advice. If you were disappointed by any TV show ever, watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It’s highly likely it did everything your show did first and probably better.

This is especially true if “your show” is or was Miraculous Ladybug. I mean we all know Astruc wanted MLB to be Marvel but there are so many similarities to Buffy it’s insane. I didn’t know because I didn’t watch Buffy until last year. Insane how Astruc watched Buffy get pulled out of heaven and then kicked out of her own house by her awful friends and went “oooh, write that down”. Cordelia is everything fans wanted Chloe to be. Faith is everything I wanted Lila to be. Luka is just Oz (including him oddly getting along with Cordelia the few scenes we see them interact, like the fans expect out of Luka & antagonistic kids). I want to go back in time and tell my past self to watch Buffy instead of giving MLB another chance after season 1 lol

I finally watched tadc and holy overreactions abt the rabbit on my feeds online now. like jax was just a bully in the end i thought the rest of the cast handled her just fine..? it was realistic to me i guess. i saw a post like “why did they just forgive him for this” w a screencap of jax pressing the button. i don’t think they forgave her? they just let it go because there wasn’t much point continuing to argue about it

to me jax worked well as a compare/contrast with caine. jax was given opportunities to do better and get along with the group but refused every time and it is sad because we see how the group are eventually able to forgive and get along with caine. like these are good people willing to accept when someone actually changes. some kind of scene where the characters all say they’ll never forgive jax would have been weird. similarly it would have been weird if jax gave an earnest apology idk lol

deltarune theory that every party member will be able to equip swords in the future because why else is aqua knife kinda bad

i didn’t actually know this until recently but if you skip one of the shadow crystal fights, you don’t need to start your run over from that chapter. so if you beat pink in chapter 5 but didn’t fight the knight in chapter 3, you don’t need to do chapter 4&5 over again - just do chapter 3 again on the same save slot & the shadow crystal+ black shard will become obtainable in castle town in chapter 6. so there’s really no reason to choose aqua knife bc black shard is just better.

but that makes me wonder why. I think noelle can equip the black shard, so that could be one reason. but i can also see chapter 6 having another secret boss that gives us noelle’s ultimate weapon since we got kris’s, susie’s, then ralsei’s in ch3/4/5? i guess we could get a ‘real’ one for ralsei since floweryscarf cant be equipped, and maybe it wont be able to be fixed.

The way all the 2020s have done so far have been making me categorically against every new generation of tech that comes out is insane. Like I'm from a technological boom generation, saw the first portable phones, nokias & blackberries & flipphones etc, and the first smartphones, and the first ipods & ipads & tablets in general while still having cassettes & DVD & MP3 players around so I know how all of it work, I had computer classes in high school, I did the transition between home desktop computers to laptops and back to gaming computers. But then they started to put internet in your printer & microwave, everything has ads & AI now and every update is worst than the last. I literally loved technology and they ruined it

idk how to articulate this exactly - but I don’t want the weird route to just make us feel bad for doing it, in the end. that’d be kinda disappointing to me.

if the purpose was just to hammer home the point geno route was trying to make about the PLAYER being responsible for their actions by giving us a vocal victim we force to do violence with noelle, it achieved that already in chapter 2 alone. casting snowgrave on berdley could have been the conclusion, with the game returning to a mostly normal route afterwards. that could have been chilling in it’s own way, if berdley just remained in a coma, noelle thought it was just a dream but ultimately the game proceeded to it’s single ending.

I do like how weird route is this alternate creepy horror story right now and i’d be fine with it staying that way as opposed to “rewarding” the player for being evil with weird route actually being the way to unlock the true ending or something. But I think we’re kinda past needing a “kris i remember your snowgraves” moment. noelle saying that casting snowgrave made her feel powerful and she feels bad saying it but it’s true is way more interesting.

I guess i feel like if just guilt tripping the player for trying to be evil in the game where enemies run away from you when attacking them is the point, then ch4&5 weird route is a bit pointless? and im trusting that theres more to it. i want people to be more open to the idea of it being part of the full story of the game.

If you don’t get all recruits, Rudinn will tell you “Perhaps you don't treasure this place so much. But it treasures you. Whatever you do.” & “whatever you do” feels important to me. Maybe every route is equally pointless, maybe “your choices don’t matter” could mean “there isn’t a way to stop the characters in this world from caring about Kris and wanting to help them in the end” which could be uplifting on a normal route playthrough and gut wrenching on weird route. do you get what i’m saying. i dont think weird route needs to be as “unsatisfying” as genocide route, and itd even be kinda cool if it was especially tragic.

Adding onto this thought a little. I used to prefer the name “Snowgrave route” when it was just chapter 2. But since chapter4 “weird route” has felt more apt because it’s not a story solely about making Noelle kill more people like I thought it’d be. I think back then I thought WR would involve Noelle joining the party earlier than normal and us being able to get her to cast Snowgrave again. That hasn’t happened (yet) and it’s made sense why but it’s still interesting to me how Weird Route has focused entirely on the horror of what we’re doing to Noelle instead of anything about the darkners we froze or Berdley.

My view is that the darkners aren’t dead, because freezing inanimate objects(/computer programs?? since it was cyber world) doesn’t kill them. Maybe we’ll find out that something bad happens to recruits we “lose” and they’ll have the same fate but they’re probably fine..? Berdley though I think might be brain dead, but it’s strange how his fate is ambiguous. & it really makes me wonder where the route is headed because if it was just like geno route where we do more and more murders, why haven’t we done any since Berdley, and why isn’t Berdley actually dead.

chapter 4 being point of no return for weird route (“aborting” in ch5 just puts u on an alt wr) would make kris beating up the soul make even more sense i think.

something kinda interesting about how genocide route can be reset all the way until entering the last room with asgore iirc, or you can get a neutral ending instead as late as fighting mettaton. you get some dialogue from flowey if you do this (and the neutral ending for quitting at asgore is unique) but otherwise it’s like not doing that route at all.

meanwhile weird route is a bit different. there are a lot of ‘abort’ moments with special dialogue. it’s really ambiguous what has happened to the darkners you froze or to berdley, and that doesn’t just get undone after aborting. noelle has special dialogue at the ferris wheel if you aborted before chapter 5 which is fascinating because her attitude is totally different from if you either continued the route or were never on it. on weird route she tells you about how she feels stuck on a set path, and there are times on the normal route where she hints at the same depression. but here she can say “you aren’t making me do anything”.

that’s so weird and different!! but now that I think of it maybe it is kind of like that neutral ending where after sparing mettaton, alphys steps up and evacuates the rest of underground. you normally don’t see her develop like that but in this one specific instance she can. in a specific instance in deltarune, noelle can want more than her set path but reject the player because she (rightfully) sees them as a threat??

people speculate about your other saves getting corrupted if you do weird route but idk there’s enough going on in a save where you start wr and abort it, im interested in more of that
