Something I’ve thought a lot about is how the three spiritual schools can represent the three points of time.

Myth represents the past. The legends and monsters of ages ago whose adventures and feats have been forever woven into the stories of history. Mythological creatures brought from the past by calling out their true name, a feat exclusive to Conjurers due to these monster’s true names having been lost to time, only known now by names given to them in recent years.

Life represents the present. To live in the moment and enjoy what life has given you is the essence of a Theurgist. To sing the song of the Spiral is to sing the beauty of the world around you. Those who truly excel in practicing life magic are the best at seeing the forest for the trees, to enjoy the finer details in life, and to treat every moment of being able to live and breathe as a gift.

Death represents the future. Everything, from people to monsters to entire civilizations will inevitably succumb to oblivion. As everything was once created, so must everything collapse and fail. Necromancers accept this inevitability. Those who master death magic have come to peace with their inevitable demise, and when the grim reaper decides to stop by one day, they’ll invite them in as if greeting an old friend.
