I hate to say this but why am I not seeing enough posts about what's happening to Palestinians on tumblr. If no one's gonna say it, then I am.
Mainstream media are calling this an Israeli-Palestinian "conflict" but how can one call it a conflict when a settler colony armed with nuclear weapons and backed by the most powerful empire on the planet routinely kills indigenous people with impunity?
No, it's ethnic cleansing, settler colonialism and genocide.
Recent update shows that death toll in Gaza has reached 192 including 58 children and 34 women.
I've been feeling quite useless and heartbroken over the situation. Posting about stuff is the least I can do to spread more awareness and let people know what's actually happening. Posts about Palestine are getting censored on Instagram and Facebook.
The Israeli government has bombed the journalism office in Gaza. Netanyahu has come out to say that the next few hours will not be easy. Israel completely controls the rhetoric right now. Gaza has been without electricity and supplies. Hamas commanders died days ago and Gaza has requested a ceasefire that has been shutdown. It's soon going to be a massacre which the likes of may have never seen before. ISRAEL CONTROLS ALL THE MEDIA RIGHT NOW. Please do not let the Israeli government vilify Palestinians even more. I may not have covered everything that's happening but I didn't want to make this an even longer post.
Get the word out and reblog this post. Please share. Put pressure on your country's government to do something. Don't sit quiet thinking that it's none of your business. How can you just let people be killed? Use hashtags and spread awareness. Try donating money or better start raising some.

Okay, no, you know what. This is not good enough. I’ll tell you why.
Your country is at war because your country’s military has chosen to colonize Palestine. Your country is at war because your country’s police (funded and trained by the American taxes you pay) has been brutalizing Palestinian people, including children, most recently on the most holy night of the most holy month for Muslims at one of the most sacred sites in the Islamic faith. your country is at war because it is trying to uproot, remove, and cleanse Palestinian land of Palestinians.
This vicious cycle began when the British gave up their mandate on the Israel-Palestine region in 1947 and handed the problem to the United Nations, who proposed the original two-state solution, which, now that I’m looking at that map, does not seem unreasonable. The Jewish Palestinian leadership at the time agreed. Yes, later the armies of the surrounding Arab nations invaded the region but, they were unsuccessful in their efforts to reclaim the land that is today known as Israel, because by the end of the 1987 war with Egypt, borders had been drawn that, again, allowed for Palestinian sovereignty over the West Bank and the Gaza strip.
The problem began after Egypt and Jordan recognized Israel and its borders. That, Ms. Gadot, is when your people, massively aided by Americans, started occupying The West Bank. Today, it is no longer a Palestinian territory. Palestine is, technically speaking, considered a de jure sovereign state. Do you know what that means? It means it is considered a state presiding over territory that it does not actually have jurisdiction over. That’s what your people have made of the West Bank.
I am genuinely livid seeing that you are trying to reaffirm that “Israel deserves to live as a free and safe nation,” as if it needs reaffirming. Israel is so free a nation that it has been displacing, brutalizing and slaughtering Palestinians in their own home for decades, and it is so safe that it is capable of doing so and continuing to do so without consequences because of its Western alliances, who, for all their talk of a two-state solution, do not even recognize Palestine because it would violate their diplomatic agreements with Israel. Israel is the warden, not the inmate. It is free as a bird, and safer than you are, coddled by the wealth you have earned in the country that funds Israel’s success in ethnic cleansing.
As for your leaders, I have little to say except that you of all people need not worry. It is not your interests they are going against. It is not your people they will continue to kill. It not your nation that has crumbled like dust, and is burning while the world watches, uncaring. Your leaders are with you, and your peace is promised.
Look, I know a good number of you are from the US and things aren't amazing there either, but my country is literally on the brink of collapse. So I'd love it if we could talk about that for a minute.

A second COVID wave has taken out the healthcare system. There are no more hospital beds. There's an oxygen shortage. There's a critical vaccine shortage. The Central Government has thrown its hands up and is passing the baton to the State Governments to do what they can.
There are over 16 million covid cases. A record 330,000 new cases reported yesterday - comparable to the US at its peak. 187,000 dead as of today.
There is no plan.
Mass cremations are taking place. The cremation grounds are running day and night and they are short on wood. People are watching their loved ones die while waiting for a hospital bed, and then they're unable to give them the proper burial rights.
Hospitals are overwhelmed. Patients are being confined, two to a bed. They're the lucky ones.
We are on the verge of people dying in the streets.
This is the second-most populous country in the world. The largest democracy. A country that encapsulates over 15,000 years of recorded human history and has endured everything from famine to invasion to colonisation.
We might be at the end. This might be the thing that does us in.
People are dying.
People are dying.
People are dying and there is no plan.
More good news? Variants are popping up. A double mutation strain has shown up. It is resistant to current vaccines. This will not go away. This is the devastation they warned of when the anti-maskers were out protesting the minor inconvenience of covering their face in public.
My country is on the verge of an emergency state. Our government has failed us. This is as dire a situation as it ever could be.
Look. I don't do much with my life. I write fics, some of you have read them and that's pretty much it. I spend my days with my head in the clouds because that's where I like to be.
But two days ago, my grandmother tested positive, had to be taken to hospital and the ambulance caught fire.
She barely made it to the urgent care she needs.
So, here I am, using whatever meager platform I have to cobble this request together. Because I have to do something.
