A Jedi!Maul AU in which I explore my version of Maul as a Jedi, while keeping his doomed connection to the dark. Alongside an Obi-Wan who had grown up with Maul and both are very much pining for the other but don’t act on it until it seems too late. ______________________________

Started as a silly idea to use the typical 5+1 trope and follows Maul through his encounters with Obi-Wan through the Clone Wars, struggling to adapt to Obi-Wan’s witty and flirtish teasing. Ended up being more sweet than silly, with a gentle dusting of Angst. ______________________________

Coming this year: new Obi-Wan x Maul longfic

What a surprise, another one with them! Will be set after S1 of Maul Shadow Lord. Not really Sith!Obi-Wan, but certainly fall to the dark. Like not a failed attempt, not Maul being dragged to the light instead, Obi-Wan WILL fall. That's my main goal with this one, alongside showing a deep and shared vulnerability between them.

This is a very nuanced and complicated discussion that I want to see in the reblogs/comments, but in your overall opinion, which of these SW characters is a better representation to limb loss and prosthetics? Not in case of the exact limb that is lost (cue to Maul and Grievous) but how they deal and how it impacts their character.

Anakin, his arm

#the decision that only the braid (when possible) is mandatory is forever hilarious to me #bc that means that Obi-Wan what? #picked this hair out if a catalogue of appropriate traditional styles? #and stuck to it faithfully for 12 years #and then. only knowing how to do 1 haircut and having to get Anakin ready for the ceremony at the end of tPM. just made a mimi me version. #and then Anakin loyally stuck with appropriate haircut no.3 from the jedi dressing catalogue until knighting #he may have expressed individuality through robe colour. but he kept the hair for 10 years #just like how his blade matched Obi-Wan’s #and i think they are the only master/padawan pair with matching coloured blades in ep 1-6 #(might be wrong) #and idk i just love the enmeshment. the ways Anakin wants independence while also enforcing these similarities with Obi-Wan#(that Obi-Wan also enforces on him) (via @wibbly-wan)

Here's a WIP for now <3 Also can Disney stop altering Maul's markings? I swear they always seem to change slightly depending on the series he's in. Was using his Clone Wars ref until I noticed his markings were different on the Hot Toys model which is based on his Shadow Lord look, guh!
