DOWNLOAD: jibrailgbmc.bandcamp.com/album/the-hopeless-romantic-tape I made this project, an 11 track free album, to express an aspect of life in Hip-Hop form. Its written entirely in the spirit of Hip-Hop. This is a concept album set in the theme of life, love-had, love-crushed, and overall hopeless romanticism. Morris Randall mixed this. One Love.

What draws the line between black culture appreciation and black culture appropriation? Xx
Adele grew up listening to Aretha Franklin amongst many other phenomenal black singers, that is what molded her sound, her talent, and her voice. Adele gives all the credit in the world to the excellence of Aretha Franklin and those other black singers every time she gets a chance. Adele is saying “Listen, I’m a white woman from the UK that grew up on remarkable black music.” That acknowledgment and truth from Adele is appreciation for Black Culture. Adele isn’t trying to dress or act black. Adele isn’t mocking our black art, she’s simply being inspired by it and saying this is the brilliant black minds and faces I got it from. Adele isn’t taking credit for her sound, she’s not out to make money off our black art form by mocking it in a malicious fashion to become a spectacle for tabloid news to drive up her notoriety. There is nothing but love, respect, and acknowledgment on behalf of Adele working within black culture. THAT’S APPRECIATION!
Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, and Iggy Azalea NEVER grew up on black music, they are the whitest of all white girls. They all started rapping, twerking, dancing, dressing, and acting black overnight for popularity, commercial, and financial gain. That crosses the line into racism, black face, and culture appropriation. It begins to actually mock and destroy true black art forms that black people built and discovered, remember when the white media was crediting Miley Cyrus with inventing ‘twerking’? The white media is now trying to say that Iggy Azalea is running rap music. THAT’S APPROPRIATION, THAT’S RACISM AT IT’S WORST!
