Tom Hardy and Riz Ahmed are reading IGN comments and Riz read the comment that saidĀ ā Venom vs. Predator vs. AlienĀ ā and Tomās immediate reactions was to sayĀ āGANG BANGā and then make a face of REGRETā¢
he sure as hell is one of us
I think heās years ahead of us.
Giving homeless people MONEY instead of FOOD can save their lives this winter, shelters cost money, being able to sit in McDonaldās and nurse a coke for a couple hours to warm up costs money, often accessing public toilets (whether itās to use them, wash up or just to be out of the wind) costs money.Ā
Just give homeless people cash, just do it, no excuses, no whining aboutĀ āenabling their drug habitsā, if you have money to spare, give it and possibly save someone from literally freezing to death.Ā
Bringing this back cause this heat can kill you, giving money is always in season
Did You Know: There are usually four different spouse reactions types to houses you can live in; Arrogant, Neutral, Nord, or Orc? The reactions for a player-built house, for example:
Arrogant: āFine, when weāre not fending off attacks by wolves. Or bears. Or giant spiders. Honestly, what were you thinking, sending us out here?ā
Neutral: āFine, love. I think the fresh air does wonders for all of us, and this house⦠itās just perfect.ā
Nord: āFine, fine. Living out here on our own will take some getting used to, but I think itāll be good for us.ā
Orc: āBetter than ever. Nothing like living off the land to teach you how to fight, how to survive. Weāll have a little warrior on our hands in no time.ā
Once again, Orcs prove to be the superior option.
non-orcs: the house you built for me with your own hands is fine⦠I guessā¦
orcs: this place is awesome but itās gonna be even better once weāve fucked on every horizontal surface
This is what it feels like to be in training at a new job
Not to steal shit from twitter but this is THE funniest possible fucking set of replies ever
Jorge Gonzalez, suffered a broken neck, and a compressed spine at the hands of 3 sheriff deputies in Texas. He couldnāt even hold his head up for this mugshotā¦so they had to hold it up for him. They actually thought the mugshot was more important than a hospital visit.
After a deputy tripped him he hit his face hard and went unconscious. They tased him couple of times āto wake him upā.
He was left paralyzed neck down, went through a series of surgeries, and was in ICU on the ventilator for over a month after the arrest.
According to the hospital he went over 26 hours in Hidalgo County jail without necessary medical attention that could have saved his life.
Here is a petition to fire the officers who killed Jorge Gonzalez
Here is his familyās gofundme for medical bills, rent, legal fees, and other such financial needs
hmmm
IāVE BEEN FUCKING TELLING PEOPLE THIS SHIT FOR YEARS!!!!!
š§š§
One more thing thatās fucked in America.
did not know this wow
She/her also personally fought against transwomen in prison seeking gender affirmation surgery...
Hereās an article that gives more details on the story, and what Harris said about it.Ā The key points:
It was the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation that refused the surgery to the inmates.Ā When the inmates fought the policy in court, as Attorney General of California, it was Harrisās job to represent the Department.Ā Yes, she did it, but it wasnāt something she decided on her own to do.Ā (Also, not for nothing, the inmates won the case.)
Her characterization of the episode:Ā Ā āOn that issue I will tell you I vehemently disagree and in fact worked behind the scenes to ensure that the Department of Corrections would allow transitioning inmates to receive the medical attention that they required, they needed and deserved,ā Harris said.
A policy now exists for inmates to receive transition-related care in California prisons (although apparently the DoC isnāt doing a great job of holding up its end of the bargain*--quelle surprise).Ā Ā
(*For the record, Harris finished her time as AG and became a Senator shortly after this agreement was reached, so itās someone elseās job now to enforce it.)Ā
The thing to keep in mind here is that, as Attorney General, Kamala Harris couldnāt wave her hand and have everything in the entire California Department of Justice go exactly as she wanted it--and she wonāt be able to as Vice President, either.Ā We currently have a president who thinks thatās how it works, and weāre damned lucky heās wrong.Ā Ā
She had (and will have to) work with large number of people who hold different views.Ā (Another article I read said that the California Department of Justice, which she ran as AG, employs about 4,800 people--thatās a lot of different views.)Ā If she had refused to back the Department of Corrections in their case, she would have alienated people whose cooperation she needed to be able to rely on.Ā (If she even had the option of not backing them and staying AG--Iām not sure how it works, exactly.)Ā Even people who agreed with her about the specific matter might have disapproved of her hanging her subordinates out to dry.Ā (Another thing our current president does constantly--notice how Harris isnāt saying that the person in her office who actually wrote these briefs is a bad guy that she barely knew.)
So hereās what actually happened when Kamala HarrisĀ āfought against transwomen in prison seeking gender affirmation surgeryā:
The Department of Corrections had a policy denying gender-affirmation surgery to inmates.Ā Ā
Two inmates fought that policy in court.
Harris defended that policy in court (or, more accurately, was the supervisor of the person who did so--but the legal documents went out under her signature, and she takes responsibility for their content).
Harris also worked to change the policy.Ā Ā
If youāve had a job, youāve probably been in the position of having to carry out a policy that you donāt agree with.Ā Your choices are to quit your job in protest or stay and argue that the policy should change.Ā If you pick option B, you still have to follow the policy while youāre working to change it--again, just about the only person in the world who doesnāt know this is Donald J. Trump, because heās never had a real job where he answered to anybody.Ā Ā
What this incident shows is that Kamala Harris is accustomed to working in a system where she doesnāt always get her own way, and that she knows how to lose the battle to win the war.Ā As VP, sheās going to need those skills--especially if the Republicans keep the Senate, but even if the Democrats sweep everything in November, weāre notoriouslyĀ bad at all pulling in the same direction.Ā Weāve had about enough of theĀ āIām taking my ball and going homeā style of leadership.Ā Ā
This.
I get it, I really do - but Trump has literally stripped away rights from trans kids and fucked the careers of trans people in the military. Pence believes in conversion therapy.
We can remember and discuss these issues, but at the end of the day, Trump/Pence is the greater evil and we need to vote in a unified way to get them out of office because the second term would be so much worse. Donāt vote independent, just suck it up and recognize that weāre not gonna get a perfect candidate ever.
Voting Trump is a face full of glass shards, and a vote for an independent is a vote for Trump. This isnāt complicated.
I had not seen this explanation, and Iām reblogging it because I probably have followers who havenāt either.
Itās important to think critically about our elected officials and hold them accountable. However, itās also important to hold ourselves accountable when it comes to the standards we apply to some politicians versus others. These two things are not mutually exclusive!
