My country has seen repeated violations of our charter rights and freedoms. Our citizens have had their bank accounts illegally frozen, their assets stolen, and their names publicized and slandered. Our prime minister issuing these orders from his place in hiding.
I remember having my hopes up for the federal election, but apparently if the party in power forms a coalition, they can postpone the vote and maintain power.
We have confirmed reports of treason in parliament, but the names of traitors are to be kept secret, so as to not erode public trust.
In my home town Iâve witnessed the dismantling of mom and pop shops, small local businesses on main street and beyond dropping like flies over the past four years.
Owning a home has become a pipe dream. People are at each others throat over who theyâre going to vote for.
A healthy democracy has sides that respect each other, as they are inherently neighbours.
That being said- I do respect my humans, every sinner has a future and every saint has a past-
But that people wish to keep the current power structure, simply out of fear of anything else- baffles me.
They are implementing methods of reducing acceptable language- for the sake of safety. If we trade our freedom for safety, we will have neither.
