I swear, every time I sign on to check on Terra, suddenly I have a bunch of FFXIV characters following her. IS THERE SOMETHING GOING ON I’M NOT AWARE OF? Are Terra’s milkshakes just that enticing???

One memory, in particular, was the first that had been recalled during her skirmish in Narshe and it truly terrified her. Had she really burned so many soldiers to death...?

“Dark Nation...” Fingers expertly rubbed the ears of such a magnificent beast. It was purring, enjoying her company a bit too much. Her aura radiated calm. Honestly, if Rufus hadn’t said something else, she would’ve been content for hours simply loving the pet. “Huh? Oh... ah...”

Terra tried not to look at the blond. It was obvious she was ashamed for her childish weakness to animals. “Sorry... I just... uhm... w-well I saw light from this house and when I came to investigate, I saw Dark Nation and knew I had to pet him.” It wasn't a good reason, but it was honest.

It was warm. Terra hadn’t been expecting that, but it wasn’t unpleasant. Squall must’ve been tired. Through experience, she knew he often hid his feelings. It must’ve been serious. Was he okay? Or maybe he was showing, rather telling, his feelings? He definitely was more action based.

Hands came up, lightly placed on his back. She gave a little rub and, eventually, leaned back. Face tilted, burying itself in the fur of his jacket.

She didn’t know the differences in culinary arts. Baking, boiling, grilling, etc were all under “cooking” for her. No one had taught her otherwise. At least, not yet. Her mind began to fill up with different things she generally enjoyed making. Cakes and pies were nice for a treat - although she recalled liking the little tarts she attempted once.

“I’d like that. Curry is actually very easy. It just takes some time for everything to cook properly. Uhm... Dodo omelette...” Omelette’s were eggs. Terra had to remind herself. Eggs were generally easy, but omelette’s could be anything. “That sounds like fun! Have you ever made tarts before? I struggle a bit with that one... We should cook together sometime.”

Mask

You hide your pain behind a mask,. Maybe you feel you can't be helped, maybe you think no one cares, maybe you don't want to hurt anyone else with it, you're afraid of being judged, or maybe there's another reason. But whatever the reason, you fake a smile and try to function normally even though you're one step away from falling apart. Secretly, you wish someone would notice it's a mask, ask you if you're really okay, see right through and make it be okay somehow. You're hurt and a little angry that no one's noticed yet, but you'll never admit it.
