Catshark VTuber | Very sleepy | Perhaps a bit too obsessed with pixels
I may not be a catgirl, but I'm a catsharkgirl and I hope that's good enough
! Warning ! If you try to scam me I will waste your time on purpose. This is entertainment to me.
I have been putting off making one of these for way too long so...
Hi there, I'm Bex Valentine, and I'm a small-spotted catshark VTuber, but I use tumblr mainly for fandom purposes! I figured it was about time I write an actual intro post for myself, so here we are!
~~ Streaming: ~~
Weekly schedule gets posted on Sunday (or Monday if I've forgotten), streams are typically on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays starting at 7 AM Eastern Time and running for 4-8 hours
Content is usually variety gaming with occasional game dev or pixel art streams, and streams happen over on my Twitch channel
Posts related to streaming and vtubing will be tagged with : #vtubing
~~ Fandoms (non-exhaustive list): ~~
Skyrim, Fallout 4, Stardew Valley, Lord of the Rings, Best Served Cold, Keyframes
I will try to tag reblogs and any fandom content I post appropriately, so if you're particularly averse to any of the fandoms I'm in feel free to mute its tag, however I may sometimes forget to tag stuff because sometimes I see a banger post and my mind just goes brrrrrr
~~ Interests: ~~
Mysteries, sudokus, pixel art, vtubing, writing, and video games. Which if you've seen my streams, is probably pretty obvious lol
I'll try to post my pixel art more often! It'll be tagged with : #pixel art
~~ Darkbrew Dale: ~~
Joke name for the game I'm working on, which is a punishing farming simulator inspired by Dredge, Stardew Valley, and Animal Crossing. I occasionally stream some of the work I'm doing on this
As well as it being intended as a punishing farming sim, I also do love writing for characters and romance, so currently there are 18 love interests planned out, as well as a dynamic relationship system for all main NPCs.
Real name for this project will be revealed when I have enough developed to make a Steam page for the project
Game dev posts will be tagged with : #darkbrew dale and/or #game dev
~~ Other: ~~
If you read this far, thank you so much! Whether you found me through my streams over on Twitch or through my fandom stuff, or even through my pixel art, I really appreciate that you've taken the time to read this.
If you end up catching any of my streams because you found me on tumblr, feel free to let me know!
just a reminder that thereâs so much more that we still donât know about ourselves and thatâs what makes life so beautiful. next year you could find your next favorite musician or fall in love with someone you havenât even met yet. you might see a new shade of green that will become your new favorite color or you could become obsessed with a new food that you thought you once hated. we change as life goes on. we grow as life changes. our experiences shape us into a new person. itâs beautiful.
âyouâre such a ray of sunshine!â thanks! one day i chose to act happy and then i kept choosing it over and over and over and over until the neurological pathways formed like desire paths in the thicket. i dug and clawed my nails into the grooves of my brain and carved out joy. i retouch it every day.
actually, post cancelled. someone leaked garbage juice from a compromised trash bag on the floor of my building's only elevator and didn't clean it up and now it reeks of dead fish in there. whatever's wrong with me, at least I know I could be much worse
i take my words back, writing is beautiful, i have been blessed to write down all the ways my faves torment each other emotionally and sexually and then i can do it some more
to be clear you SHOULD buy that cast iron pan and you SHOULD buy that knife set and you SHOULD buy that fancy rice cooker and you SHOULD buy that novelty mug. high quality kitchenware is always worth it youâre literally gonna be using that almost every day
A Book of Creatures by @a-book-of-creatures doesn't update these days but is another thing along these lines, really huge, fully illustrated all by the author and cites all sources
not a ghost experience or even a supernatural one, but a bizarre unexplained occurrence that keeps me up at night nonetheless: I once found a real, perfectly intact pumpkin sitting on my doorstep one morning in mid-march.
fresh. showed no sign of having been frozen and thawed out. not carved or smashed or anything. no knock, no note, no nothing. I asked every friend who knew my address and none ever owned up to it, or even seemed suspicious. all shared my bafflement about how someone would even get a fresh, whole pumpkin in florida in mid-march. it's been years at this point and I have never gotten even a whiff of an explanation.
if you're ever looking to pull a completely harmless prank that will live rent-free in the target's mind forever...miraculously acquire a large, unwieldy, wildly out-of-season piece of fresh produce, abandon it on their doorstep, and never, ever tell them who or why or how the fuck
If you believe in the supernatural (which I admit I do) then I'm not sure this would technically fall under the umbrella of a ghost story as the pattern seems closer to the type of thing that offers bargains but...
I've been plagued by nightmares off and on for as long as I can remember. I rarely ever remember good dreams, and most of the time that I can remember dreams, they are nightmares. The content varies but most of the themes are about being chased or being watched, however the details of the nightmares are not particularly relevant.
Like most people with chronic nightmares, I wanted them to stop, and that want started pretty young.
I was also considered quite responsible and trustworthy as a child, and so my internet use wasn't heavily restricted after I hit double digits, and I loved using it to try to find solutions for things.
This led me to what I thought was the free cure to all my dreaming issues: lucid dreaming.
For a few years I tried all the techniques I could learn in order to induce lucid dreams: dream journaling, 'reality checks' multiple times a day so that I would start doing them in my dreams, scripting lucid dreams in advance, setting alarms for the middle of the night so that I could use the "slipping back into a dream" thing, etc.
I was mildly successful, having spontaneously gained lucidity multiple times while dreaming but I had one recurring problem: every time I would become lucid I'd immediately fall over in the dream and then wake up in real life.
That was until one night in my teens. I was having a nightmare and suddenly everything in the dream paused, everything except for the most beautiful woman (?) I've ever seen. She told me I was dreaming and said she was granting me lucidity so that we could talk.
I don't remember what we talked about, but she brought me to a parlour and gave me tea, and then at the end told me that if I ever invoked her name she would give me lucidity in my dreams again. She then told me her name and I woke up.
I have never been able to recall her name.
I have never lucid dreamed since.
Also, in a similar vein to prev's pumpkin story, I once found a baked potato wrapped in foil in my backyard while I was living in the middle of nowhere. There were no signs of an animal having brought it to the yard and I live too far away from others for it to have been neighbours. It was cold when I found it.
